Culture Study: Turns out gender dysphoria isn't a thing, but autism is - Rat King subforum to be presented as evidence

Dr. Kenneth Zucker, a psychologist with 30 years of experience running the largest Canadian childhood gender clinic, believes that transgender children may actually just be suffering from autism.

The psychologist says that a child suffering from gender dysphoria, or transgenderism, may be wrongly convincing themselves that they are their opposite biological gender due to fixation—a common quality associated with autism—on their gender.

"It is possible that kids who have a tendency to get obsessed or fixated on something may latch on to gender,” says Zucker. “Just because kids are saying something doesn't necessarily mean you accept it, or that it's true, or that it could be in the best interests of the child.”

Zucker has also linked the high association of trans children who suffer from autism to support his claim.

“Latest figures show that the number of children under 10 in Britain being referred to the NHS over transgender feelings has quadrupled in five years,” notes The Telegraph. Zucker claims such children are “seven times more likely to be on the autistic spectrum.”

The psychologist makes his controversial claim on the BBC 2 documentary Transgender Kids: Who Knows Best?, set to air on Thursday night. The film examines opposing viewpoints surrounding gender dysphoria in children, a disorder growing at an alarming rate. The documentary has received blow-back from ardent transgender activists who want to ban the film from airing until it is reviewed by “experts;” a Change.org petition has been created, garnering over 10,000 signatures advocating for the censorship.

Besides linking autism to gender dysphoria, Zucker has been critical of the idea that we must appease the illness and allow children to “transition” to their opposite sex. In fact, the psychologist claims he was booted from the children’s trans clinic in Toronto for voicing such a dissenting view.

As reported at The Daily Wire this month, the American College of Pediatricians has estimated that 75-95 percent of children with gender dysphoria grow out of such sexual confusion before adulthood. This reinforces the notion that allowing children to "transition" at a young age could do far more harm than good.

Transgender activist and Mermaids Chief Executive Susie Green thinks Zucker’s view and the BBC 2 documentary in totality are moving transgenderism “backwards.”

“We are trying to move away from the perception of it being perceived as a psychological ailment, and this just goes backwards," Green told The Guardian.

“We’ve had real concern that this is going to cause them to be targeted, because it supports this idea of trans children being mentally disturbed or that they can be cured. Parents are very afraid,” she added.

In response to criticism, the BBC 2 has defended the documentary, releasing the following statement:

“With a rise in the number of children being referred to gender clinics, this programme sensitively presents different views from experts and parents on gender dysphoria in children.

For more than 30 years Dr Kenneth Zucker ran Canada’s biggest child gender clinic and was considered a recognised authority on childhood gender dysphoria until he lost his job. He believes he was fired for challenging the gender affirmative approach.

This documentary examines Zucker’s methods, but it also includes significant contributions from his critics and supporters of gender affirmation, including transgender activists in Canada and leading medical experts as well as parents with differing experiences of gender dysphoria and gender reassignment.”

While it is dangerous and worrisome, how autistic children with a gender obsession or parents who need to stop are being shuffled off to transition related care instead of the proper care for autism, correlation is not necessarily causation. (If that were the case, then vaccines would totally cause autism. :P)

Too bad that there are studies which show that autism and gender dysphoria are linked. It takes a few seconds to find them on google.

If these reports showed up after 2008, I say they're bogus. Of all the ratkings that we've seen who share the most disgusting details of their lives, none of them have exhibited gender dysphoric traits, and when they do, they're usually overcompensating because someone called them out. Some of them probably don't even know what gender dysphoria is.:sighduck:

Yeah no - these studies are mostly about children and adolescents not rat kings and published between 1981 and 2015.

I looked. The variance seems to be based on sampling issues, but in all of them, a majority of trannies aren't autistic. This raises the question of why a more than average sampling have autism while still not being the majority, and what other factors are involved.

Incidentally, the metastudy you linked, several of the higher rates seem to be when the diagnosis fell under "not otherwise specified." Which is an issue with some of the disorders listed in the DSM, since many times the not otherwise specified label is used when the person is not able to qualify for the actual disorder listing. It might be a good idea for personality disorders, but it's a terrible idea for other listings (including GID/gender dysphoria).

This dude claims to disagree with John Money's entire theory of gender, but then he does the same shit, like discouraging children from being transgender by forcing them to play with the toys that match their gender instead of the ones they like to play with. There's refusing to give a kid drugs and surgery and then there's telling them they can't play with Littlest Pet Shop toys either because fuck you, that's why.

Let the kids be weird, if you honestly believe every child is one plastic pony away from nuclear level trans then you are not very different from Money at all now are you.
He says later in the documentary that kids should be allowed access to all kinds of toys, but that parents shouldn't just give their kid girl toys if they claim to be trans. Before the clinic was shut down they did play therapy with the kids where there were a wide range of toys, and they looked at which ones the kids picked. I think he just meant that parents shouldn't automatically treat their kid as a girl just because they said they felt like one.

Mermaids attempts to terrify parents into letting their kids transition by pushing the narrative that any parent who tells their primary-school age son that disliking football doesn't mean he's not a boy is setting them up to commit suicide.

You know, I've always hated that backwards thinking that not liking something stereotypical to masculinity or femininity made you a poor example of your sex, but now instead of scorning their kids for it, they're happy to make the assumption. It went from "My kid is a fag" to "My kid is trans!" Either way, the kid pays some price because the parent is autistic.

It went from "My kid is a fag" to "My kid is trans!" Either way, the kid pays some price because the parent is autistic.

Kid is autistic, parent is autistic, both parties too autistic to realise they're making each other even more autistic. The prevalence of trans children nowadays just tells me that by the year 2020, 70% of all autists enrolled in primary school SPED programs will be labelled as the sex the good OB/GYN wrote on their birth certificates in the name of progress. Millenials are slowly shifting away from being "the parents who desperately wanted their children to be gay so they can show the world how open-minded they are" to being "the parents who desperately want their sons to become daughters so they can show the world how anti-cisheteropatriarchal they are".

Frankly, I blame the Internet for this nonsense.

I've done research on this, and I think that gender dysphoria is real to an extent, however, it's a concept incredibly muddled by the troons who are just faking the whole thing to be special snowflakes. IE: CWC, Shmorky, Greta, and any number of trannies we have threads on who talk about jacking their dicks off on twitter while insisting they're female as an excuse to wear makeup to poorly cover up their herpes rashes, like Zach Bradley's whole group [for a recent reference].

The interesting thing I found is that all of the scientifically proven "transgender" people all generally seem to actually be, in some form, intersex or otherwise physically/developmentally deviated, specific to physical sex, in an observable way. [You know, beyond "MUH FEELS THO!"] Perhaps that's why dipshits like Shmorky try to claim they fall under the intersex label, but being that this isn't common enough, it can lead to that heavy link between autism and being transgender beyond someone being born with an almost immediately noticeable, related issue, which Zucker actually touches on in an older study.

Disclaimer: I have a subscription to an academic site, and there's a possibility that not all references can be found free of charge, if any. So if you seek out the full publications, I cannot provide them, and many academic resources are quite costly. So, please don't ask for links - I can only provide the publication names. All wording I use here will be the wording used in the studies, only changing easily replaced words you'd likely have to google. All references are peer-reviewed scientific studies.
Starting from a study by Zucker, since he's the topic of the thread, and a peer-reviewed study is what everyone seems to be interested in seeing from him:
In 1996, Zucker did a study on those born female with a condition called congenital adrenal hyperplasia, or CAH, [which is when an XX karyotype child is exposed to large amounts of testosterone in the womb], and females in their family who are unaffected by it. All participants in this study were aged eighteen to forty, with a mean of 25, being the accepted age at which the brain is considered "matured." Among those with CAH they compared those with the "Salt-wasting" [SW] form of the disorder, and simple virilization [SV]. When compared to the control group, those with CAH were shown to have significantly higher rates of cross-gender role behaviour, and felt far less comfortable with "femininity" in their childhood. The two groups did not have any major difference in degrees of dysphoria in adulthood, however those affected by CAH showed a continued significant cross-gender role identification. Three of those with CAH who didn't participate in the study are cited as currently living in the male gender role, two of which were reared from birth into a male gender role, and one of which transitioned from a female role to a male role in adolescence. The women with CAH also had fewer exclusively heterosexual fantasies than the control group, and less sexual experience with men, however, the CAH women did not have more sexual experiences with women than the controls. Difference between the SW and SV groups were also significant - those with SW were far less likely to be assigned the female sex at birth, recalled far more cross-gender role behaviour during childhood, were less likely to be married or cohabiting, and had significantly less sexual experience with men.
This study was later reaffirmed by more studies on the subject:
A study by Ai-Min Bao and Dick Swaab [lol dick swab] in 2011 shows that CAH girls are 100 - 300 times more likely to be trans, and one in twenty have serious gender identity issues, marked by severe dysphoria. Another study by Louis Gooren in 2006 shows that 37% of CAH girls classify as lesbian or bisexual, which is an incredibly high number in comparison to the rest of the population.

Within the same publications used for the above references to reaffirm Zucker's study, both Bao/Swaab and Gooren go over many other reference points, as well. I won't go into great depth, as Zucker's study is the primary topic, but I will explain a couple of them, as they're relevant to the main point.

They both reference two deficiencies in the same vein for their arguments: 5α-reductase-2 deficiency, and 17β-hydroxy-steroid dehydrogenase-3 deficiency. Either one results in the inability for testosterone to form into dihydrotestosterone, which will result in an XY karyotype baby girl with an enlarged clitoris. This remains the case until puberty, wherein her clitoris will grow significantly, testes will descend, and she will begin developing masculine features. This is particularly common in Salinas, located in the Dominican Republic, where they are referred to as "Guevedoces" - lit."Penis at 12." According to Bao and Swaab, evidence shows about 60% of children affected will later go on to live as heterosexual males. Bao suggests that this might mean that testosterone has a larger, more direct impact on the development of the fetal brain than dihydrotestosterone. Gooren cites that a Brazilian study shows that out of twenty five people with 5α-reductase-2 who were raised as females, thirteen changed their gender to male. Then another one that shows that 50% of those with 17β-hydroxy-steroid dehydrogenase-3 also change their identities to male.

They also overlap in referencing that XY karyotype boys born with cloacal exstrophy, wherein they are partly or fully missing a penis, it is typical of hospitals to surgically change them into "girls" at birth, and placed on female hormone therapy and given counselling throughout childhood, which leads them to being raised female throughout their lives. Despite being raised and brought up female, roughly 50% of follow-up studies show that they later transitioned to male during their teen or adult years. Gooren and Bao both agree on these specifics. I will say, this is a much less fucked up practice [although still questionable] than the John Money experiment I keep seeing mentioned, and proves the same point without the incredibly horrifying aspects, so it's a much better point to make with an actual reliable sample size.

This is already getting lengthy, so I'll stop here to refrain from too much droning, unless people actually want to hear more and further in depth research regarding it. I've found a lot of studies that go into the chemical composition of the brain which results in experiencing dysphoria, but that could carry on a little too much.

TL;DR:
- Zucker studied females who were exposed to high levels testosterone in the womb. They were more likely to be trans, and this is backed up by research done by Bao, Swaab, and separately, Gooren.
- Bao/Swaab and Gooren provide solid evidence of physical or chemical abnormalities as a direct cause of someone being trans.
- Dysphoria is a thing, however, not something everyone could understand or experience, and usually in those instances there's evidence of a physical misalignment or clear chemical data that shows you have a deficiency or some other chemical imbalance in your brain.

The general consensus of the research I have found is that the brain and the body develop at separate times, and therefore odd deformities and discrepancies between the two happen and cause people to identify as trans. This is more common in biological females than in males from what I've been able to gather, and could be a strong reason that more often than not, when removing genderspecials like Milo out of the picture and focusing on specifically FtM individuals, you see the vast majority of them just living their lives and not being total lolcows. They likely have far less to gain and more to lose when it comes to the SJW aspect, and from what I know, they often transition quietly through the proper venues, without a problem.

Autism was not mentioned or discussed to any capacity in these studies, nor any of the other ones I looked into behind the little academic paywall beyond the ones referenced here, so I can't comment on the validity of autism as one of the confirmed scientific causes. My completely unprofessional opinion is that these links are likely due to a sharp increase in autistic people who believe they're experiencing that thing they heard about when they really aren't, indoctrination into that mindset such as what the SA goons do to many who are confused, the want to be accepted like CWC, basic bullshit that people like Zach or Milo spout, or even the manipulative types like Shmorky or Greta. I agree with the sentiment that the internet's largely to blame for a lot of this and that some people aren't legitimately experiencing this stuff, but I don't think that everyone's full of shit when it comes down to it, and there are genuine, valid reasons for this possibly occurring.

The only thing is, almost all of these instances have names already put to them, and can usually be shown on physical inspection, through blood testing, or through brain scans. Not everyone has any way to actually know whether or not they have the wrong chemicals pumping through their bodies, and not many of them are actually permanently treatable beyond physical transition. The only difference is that those who transition and have those types of issue are almost always much happier and better off, and usually a lot more mentally stable to begin with beyond the typical depression or anxiety that comes with actual dysphoria. They could all likely have themselves tested for any chemical imbalances or abnormalities quite easily for confirmation, but it usually isn't required. That's where a lot of issues tend to come in with these trannytrenders, imo.

I think most of us do believe gender dysphoria exists. But the link between a lot of people claiming to have it and it an autism seems undeniable. You have Chris, who seems like he always kind of struggled with his sexuality, who is autistic. Same with Phil.

Then you have people like @Thomas Jay Wasserberg who mostly uses it to try to get benefits from being in a 'protected' class, and may also have autism.

Greta, and a lot of the tumble/twitter trannies who use it to be a super special snowflake. And exploit it for money.

I never really meant to imply that any of you thought dysphoria wasn't real, I'm just mostly referring to the OP with my post, not so much the replies. I also do support the link between those claiming to have dysphoria and autism, too. I simply state there's no peer-reviewed published scientific study or journal that shows that there is an actual connection between actual dysphoria, in the medical sense, and those simply claiming it. I just stated that it's likely due to a group mentality type thing, such as the desire to be accepted or seen of a certain rank, and that aspect of it is far more likely to happen with males who claim to be MtF than females who say they're FtM, as they get more social respect than FtM individuals.

Autism often shows itself in making people socially awkward and willing to do strange things to feel appreciated or validated, and I believe that's a large part of the gender dysphoria claim they give when added to the general confusion and often gullibility autism provides. They're usually very easily influenced and convinced of things, often being the ones convincing themselves, then they tend to latch onto it like a life raft on a drowning ship until it is real to them and it is their reality.

For my money, the key "this is how you know this is bullshit" aspect is how the insane troon posse responds to medical science.

Again, there's a reason a transperson wants a legitimate dysphoria diagnosis, and that is because it is a life-long commitment. You will be on a barrage of medications for the rest of your life. Beyond the obvious surgeries, you have fucking years of psychiatric counseling, deep psychoanalysis, medical testing, and more. It's a fucking massive undertaking for just the formative steps, and it does not ever fucking stop. If you think any of the retards we've covered on this website have the patience or will to go through with that, you clearly haven't been paying attention that long. There's a reason all these shitheads whine about "Gatekeeping," and that reason is that the medical establishment does not give a fuck about their feelings, as it should be.

But I'll go beyond that, and explain in no uncertain terms why I'm virtually entirely sure that each and every one we've got so far has never gone through the process and is simply claiming to be trans so they can claim they're oppressed.

Alyssa Waldrop:
Vade never had a dysphoria diagnosis. Just like when she claimed to be Autistic, she started REEEEEE-ing when her doctor stated she wasn't and claimed that "Neurotypicals could never understand her pain." We later learned through the sister of the boyfriend Vade led to the suicide of that Vade actually did go for a diagnosis but stopped taking the medication for the initial tests almost immediately (but kept her boyfriend's money).

Greta Gustava AND Nina Chaubal:
If you think Greta has the ability to kludge her way through a psychiatric screening given her complete incapacity to deal with dissent, you should let Null know so he can write you off as a charity case. Greta has zero respect for anything that isn't her own ego and wish fulfillment, and will do literally anything she can to avoid having to play by any rules but her own. This is the same idiot who drove through the one state that absolutely, positively, would not tolerate Nina's immigration status being questionable and then acted like it was law enforcement's fault. Greta absolutely could not get past the psychiatric screenings, and Nina could fucking never get through since she isn't even a citizen and thus not qualified. Nina and Greta both had their dicks inverted (or so chant goes), but there's doctors all across the country willing to do that shit if you cough up the dosh.

Brianna Wu:
I originally thought Bribri was legit. After all, unlike all the other troons we cover, she's generally content to keep to herself about her status and she rarely prattles on about her trans status. Closer investigation has yielded that Wu, almost with nigh-certainty, did not get a dysphoria diagnosis and simply transitioned on others' dime. Timestamps alone would indicate that Brianna would not have anywhere near the time required for the constant medications and therapy, and while I cannot say for certain I will say that if it later emerged that she got the official diagnosis, I'd be fucking stunned. Wu shows every sign of autogynephilia and then some, and all evidence is that Wu didn't so much get a dysphoria diagnosis as took full advantage of the amount of money she had available to fulfill her fantasies of becoming a badass action girl hero everyone would look up to (but failed and became Brianna Wu).

Phillip Vincent Haskins-Delici:
Haha. HAHAHAHA. Oh god. I need say nothing. If anyone thinks Phil could get through a psych eval they need to ban themselves from this thread immediately and then read their Kiwi Farms Handbook.

Jake Alley:
With no intention of every transitioning, no diagnosis, and no attempt to do anything bu histrionically whine on Twitter in Autistic barrageposts that make my longposts seem subdued by contrast, Jake Alley should forevermore be the centerpiece of Rat King Troons. When we say "Social Justice Definitions of Transgenderism Are Fake," post a picture of Jake's balding down-syndrome gnome-head.

Mark Boyd:
This asshole. Holy shit. You know how with Brianna Wu, it's kind of obvious she transitioned to live her fetish, and how Greta is much the same way? Well, take these, crank them to 11 (like one of Spinal Tap's Amps), fuse them into one sexually-deviant nutter who is fine sexually harassing people about sucking his "girl dick," and you have Mark Boyd, the epitome of "is obviously trans because of his insane fetishes." I dare anyone to read my review of T-Runner and tell me, with a straight face, that Mark Boyd is anything but a ball of sexual deviancy who latched onto trans shit solely because it gave him a chance to indulge his sickness. Just in case it wasn't obvious enough, he tried to get his HRT off the internet, because of course he did.

Zoe Quinn:
Literally got a breast enlargement mere weeks before claiming to be trans so she can fundraise the money to fix one of her implants springing a leak. I'd be sympathetic but frankly I'm laughing too hard at what appears to be laser-guided karma.

Chloe Sagal:

Shrieking maniac who could never get through a psych screening. Has been institutionalized, completely disqualifying her from any and all mental-health requirements; it's an immediate red-flag. Tried to run a charity scam to raise money for her sexual reassignment surgery, only for it to become apparent later and have the whistle blown. Descended into madness and will never return. Alienated everyone who ever knew and cared about her; will not be missed.

Nora Reed:

Is fat and I would not have sex with her with someone else's dick.
Also a lazy piece of shit who accomplishes fuck all.

What you might notice with all of these is that for the ones that even made the attempt (and aren't just hoping to use their status for attention/cash like Quinn), they all immediately went right for the surgical options and/or hormones bought off the internet. This is not the same thing as the HRT you would get with the proper diagnosis, which would basically be at the strongest possible safe levels until you were at the proper level to ratchet it back to simple maintenance doses, and would mandate you being monitored for this period, lest a reaction cause you a massive blood pressure drop that almost kills you (for example).

All evidence is that for the ones that claim to have transitioned, they went straight for paying for their own surgeries/HRT and did it completely off the grid. The only one I can't say for sure this is the case for is Brianna Wu, and given how often she has lied about absolutely every aspect of her life I can't say I much care about the veracity of that one.

Does he have a peer reviewed article on this?

Considering he decided making this claim on national TV rather than just publishing his studies and be done with it was a good idea, it's pretty unlikely he'll get one anytime soon

What of the claim that people with gender dysphoria have brains more like the gender they identify as?

The one I know of specifically focused on a part of the brain called the red nucleus.

Considering the nature of studies like this, and the fact their results are often inconclusive, I'd really like to see more on the subject.

It would make sense, though, and the fact MtF dysphorics are vastly more common makes sense. The "natural" gender is female, in that a fetus will end up female appearing if not exposed to the proper hormones while developing, and the entirety of maleness depends on the ridiculously shriveled Y chromosome. Just having a Y chromosome at all means a life shorter by about a decade, being exposed to all sorts of diseases that you get if your single X chromosome is damaged in that area (people with XX have a backup), and the Y chromosome has less data on it than any other chromosome.

People talk about "male privilege" a lot but if you look at the DNA, males got the shit end of the stick.

How about just let kids play with the toys they like and they'll turn out normal, or if they don't, it won't be because you're the evil mommy who took away their pony and made it a forbidden fetish object?

I have yet to hear about a kid who turned out great because they were deprived of toys or their choice of toys was treated as deviant.

I suppose if you actually want to raise serial killers, you'd do this.

Just having a Y chromosome at all means a life shorter by about a decade

This intrigues me. Countries which tend towards eliminating gender inequality (like Iceland) tend to have lifespans that are nearly identical (usually with one or the other going up or down by a year in a given period.) I was always told men only lived shorter lives because they were more likely to die doing things like war, etc?
