I was recommended the pilot when it came out, and one of my longtime online friends liked/likes it, and I really vibed with the designs and concept at the time. Same for Helluva Boss. I don’t remember why I fell off them, probably out of laziness, and I barely even remember how I rediscovered it and realized it was gonna be dogshit. It was either this thread, tumblr, YouTube, or Vivzie’s infamous tweets about reclaiming Hell.
God, I still have fanart of Alastor somewhere out there, and I was proud of that shit…
I got interested when a couple good posters here had avatards from pre-pilot leaks of Charlie, who looked like an adorable waifu, and then it kept looking good, then the pilot came out, and was actually good.

HB came out and the first season was actually mostly at worst okay, with a few standout episodes.

And then we got this crap. Oh well.

The ☝️🤓

I genuinely can't tell if this fandom is actually this disingenuous or genuinely dumb (or young).

I'm also not sure how "Vassago will be important later" is a good point when the last thing this show need is another gay friend stealing the spotlight from IMP.

At least it confirms that someone from there is keeping tabs on this thread.
Modern 4chan is very ghey. That is all.

I genuinely can't tell if this fandom is actually this disingenuous or genuinely dumb (or young).
Why not all 3 of them? Vassago looks like a shitty OC you would find on sites like DeviantArt, the kind where someone takes an existing character, makes slight changes and calls it a day. Along with a crappy backstory, like being the long lost cousin of Stolas or something.

I will forgive viv everything if this is true.

I am however not excited for the fandom to depict Alastor as a sad asexual princess on a leash. But I think it's better than "SMART, CUNNING, SCHEMING, MOST POWERFUL SCARY OVERLORD, WHO IS SO POWERFUL HE CAN BEAT UP EVEN LUCIFER, AND THEN THE GOD HIMSELF".

I hope his character will end up being a dumb, overconfident and emotional man with a superiority complex. Him getting his fuckass stick broken was very funny.

Leak spoiler: And the temper tantrum he throws at Lucifer after, that was hilarious. With a broken ass stick in hand too. "That's it! I quit!" lol calm down

He's my favourite character btw, but if my vision proves to be correct.
I hate Alastor so fucking much it's unreal. He's a legitimate Gary Stu because he's so strong and amazing for no reason. We haven't seen him interact with actual demons yet, but I get the feeling he's stronger than Hellborn too.

If he was a Gary Stu, wouldnt he be feared by all and win against Adam easily? Instead, we see he gets his shit rocked by Adam, was implied he got shit rocked by Vox and doesnt seem any of the older Overlords (like Zestiel or Lucifer for example) even take his ass seriously. So really, hes more a poser who tries to act bad ass because this what was Lilith promised him, but hes more a puts that can only beat up lesser hellborn demons (imps, hellhounds, the loan sharks).

Which again, really is night and day when you look at the pilot version, where there was all this mystery about him, where he came from, how he got these powers, what was his real interest in the hotel an etc.

All bark no bite.
Nigga can only manipulate alcoholic cats, unstable psychotic girls, and sheltered princesses with BPD.

Carmilla didn't care about his absence. When he was walking down the street with Zestiel, if you look closely, people are scared of Zestiel, NOT Al.

This is a good thing for me, though, to reiterate. Makes him a funny character.
I do enjoy the concept of him greeting everyone with "Alastor! Pleasure to meet you, I guess you've heard of my radio show?" , and actual powerful demons are like "???"

babe, wake up, new scathing critique just dropped

Flazefire posted his thoughts on Sinsmas in the pinned comment.

Flazefire said:
New Helluva Brapps Episode "Sinsmas" is out... My thoughts... ("Nothing ever happens" chudjack.png) Helluva Boss has always had good episodes, And Sinsmas is one of them.

The animation is incredible, the fight with gay bird #2 was really well done and "I will be ok" is top three Helluva songs for both the song it self and the animation.

Bryce Pinkham's performance is currently the best in the series with this episode.

Octavia finally has something happening for once (based). Her song is actually incredible. Stolas is kinda sorta not really held accountable for his actions. Octavia is mad at him (based) and actually doesn't forgive him (giga based) but the story treats this like its a bad thing and that she's only being emotional and we should feel sorry for Stolas. Stella is beyond a non character, she is a Saturday morning cartoon villian, a bit of cardboard to make the audience feel bad for the innocent smol babi Stolas, this would be fine if Helluva boss wasn't trying to be a mature adult dramedy. It is possible to have a cartoony evil villain that's evil because they're evil with depth. But Stella's only motivation is "I hate my le husband because..." And her dialogue is about as subtle as a Pyrocynical reference in a Flazefire video (not very). Millie being pregnant has finally given her another character trait, she's violent, loves moxie, and is now a mother unsure of what to do with the baby. (Finally something for her) As soap opera, fanfic-esque this plot point is I'm excited to see where it will go in season 3.

The opening sequence of I.M.P taking a job on earth that reflects Stola's current situation and the gang choosing not to do the hit because "mmmmmm le cheating is really not that bad because Stolas did it, and Stolas doesn't do bad things, therefore cheating isn't bad" Is infuriating in a way I am unable to convey through text so just imagine I made a bit that involves Breaking Bad in some way. Him wallowing in self pity for the action that he took with his boohoo, nobody loves me im a bad person and also poor lmao rant, is just the cherry on the poopoo cake. This goes to show that the writing team is permanently committed to never giving Stolas any amount accountability and he will be the perpetual sympathy machine for all eternity.

The writing was really tight and the few jokes actually in the episode were actually funny and not nearly as jarring and out of place as the rest of the series. If this is the writing of the dialogue from now on I will be extremely happy.

All in all I enjoyed it. Was not great for a finale, but as an episode it was enjoyable. It was better than "Unhappy Campers" but worse than the best episodes. The flazebook definition (textbook but Flazefire) of fine.

Yummy yummy fill my tummy with more.

Man, dont get me started on this shit. I seriously cannot wrap my brain how easily Charlies ass got manipulated in the show, when in the pilot she tells Alastor to pound gravel and do what she says because of her authority. With Husk its even dumber, like hes this Overlord who runs his own casino and yet his ass somehow got cheated by Alastor, when its implied that Husk was expert on cheating at cards and stacking decks

Media illiteracy will be their go-to term to call out anyone who doesn't kiss the show's and its character's feet, huh?

"Media literacy", whoever says this shouldn't be beaten if they are teenagers, but be made to think about what they said. HOWEVER, if they are adults, they should be beaten, yes.

If you are a teen-dult, and all you say is "MEDIA LITERACY THIS, MEDIA LITERACY THAT", this becomes a non argument like "BAD FAITH". It's a shield you pull out of your arse to claim "Not an argument", "non-sequitur". Shut up, and develop an actual argument.

"What does OP mean by OC? Original Character made by the creators? Or a stolen character by some other person?" And then construct something from there. Be genuine. Christ, it feels like we're dealing with children around the internet. At least they aren't breadtubers...

I spent some time lurking on videos made by fans, and often he was treated as a "satan"-like figure, but now that Satan was revealed, IDK how it is now. So yes, he definitely is the show's Gary Stu.

He'll never hold a candle to the REAL ALASTOR...

In trying to play up the mystery behind Alastor, Viv ironically gave up the game. In the pilot Alastor was just some sketchy funny guy who was seemingly only there for the fun of it. Nietzsche wrote that there's an artistic beauty in mystery. Alastor in the pilot was simple, vague, and subtle.

Alastor in the series might as well be wearing a sign saying I AM POWERFUL AND MYSTERIOUS. There are so many scenes dedicated to "hinting" (read: shouting in your face) that there is more to Alastor then meets the eyes. Characters blurt out so many expository lines that we basically know everything we need to know about him

He's a powerful top tier sinner

He runs a radio show which is why he sounds and looks like that

He likes killing people

TV guy hates him

He is more powerful than he should be

Said powers likely derive from his patron (probably Charlie's mom)

He was gone for exactly 7 years and now he's back to help Charlie (also probably because of Charlie's mom)

Despite being hyped up as one of the top guys in all of hell, he only beats up jobbers and gets his clock cleaned by the main antagonist (someone who thought he could take, which makes it all the more embarrassing)

The way I see it, Alastor is the show's resident punching bag, even moreso than the designated "chew toy" – Sir Pentious:
>Pentious gets to confess to the woman he loves, and kiss her
>it's implied she reciprocates his feelings
>goes out fighting against the First Man
>becomes the first redeemed Sinner

Meanwhile, Alastor:
>runs like a bitch after Adam breaks his staff
>doubles down on his selfishness after realising he almost died for the Hotel's sake
>implied to have jobbed to Vox
>actual top-tiers never take him seriously
>jobs some more in the S2 leaks

An the irony is that Pentious is supposed to be mocked because they're based on Viv's ex-friend.

Isn’t it odd how Alastor, who was a nigger in his mortal life, ends up being a fraud no one takes seriously despite being hyped as “one of the most powerful overlords”, also so happens to want to steal the throne from Lucifer for power? Is it possible Viv is being unintentionally based by portraying a stereotypical nigger? 🤔

Maybe I’m thinking too hard into that idea.

Also keep in mind that he jobs not once, but TWICE, to Vox, who is white-coded, and is furthermore depicted as the leader of the Vees, taking charge of a gay spic (Valentino) and an autistic nigger zoomer (Velvette).
What did Vivienne Medrano mean by this?

I would not ever be posting about this if you hadn't made a big stink out of me saving images from /hhg/ and reposting them on this thread, as if I'm committing some kind of espionage. Most of the art shared in these generals is itself reposted from somewhere else.

I would have archived the thread, but it 404'd while I was writing this post. Sad!
