I remembered one hilarious thing that needs to be baked into the lore.

One of our coworkers who dealt with Jason's League rage one too many times made a habit of printing out Edward Cullen's face and taping it to the bottom of Jason's mouse.

Everyone on that side of the office knew whenever it happened.

Absolute unbridled rage trigger.

Reminder for outsiders to not interact, but I guess if anyone uses this information to troll we'll know where they got it from.

And never forget that Security God Engineer never deleted his Facebook messenger history and still exists on the platform.

Do you have any proof of this?? You keep coming in here with your fan fictions.
It also weirdly sounds like how Jason types out as well, everything in a paragraph to come off as smarter. Idk.

To be fair to Cherno, he's working on his own full featured 3D game engine, and used to work on Frostbite. He has admitted that he often makes videos about things he's personally learning, and that making tutorials is part of his own learning process. I think that's a natural feeling. You're excited to teach something you've just learned. You're less excited to teach something you've mastered because it seems boring.

Every A, B, and C-list programmer eceleb is in a league above Jason. Nothing in Jason's cherished resume says he knows how to program. He is a noobish amateur programmer and I'm not sure if he's claimed otherwise. I don't really know Jason's technical background because "infosec" is about as meaningless as saying you work in "IT". Infosec rarely involves programming unless you're doing malware reverse engineering (which I doubt Jason did).

Hate to break it to you but that would be why I didn't say he was blatantly lying, but he's being vague SPECIFICALLY to deceive people. Much in the same way as I can say "I'm a doctor" because of my PhD in lesbian dance theory and be 100% correct, if I have thousands of videos talking about the medical system and say "yea I'm also a doctor" I'm not expecting, and you won't, think that's what I'm referring to.
I consider this to be exactly the same as lying. Companies and scumbags and especially journalists do it all the time. They act like there's an inherent rule that it's morally fine to lie to peoples faces as long as you do some clever wordplay where it's not technically false if you read the words literally, but you know how people will actually interpret it because that's how language and communication works. I hate that slimy behavior and generally people seem to accept it as normal, as though we're all druids who took blood oaths out on the letter of the law.

To put it simply, they intend to communicate a certain idea, and everyone correctly interprets that ideas, but they said it in exactly such a way that they can perform pilpul at a later date. It's almost like a child that thinks "stop hitting yourself" is a valid defense to smacking someone around.

This may have already been asked+answered earlier in the thread, but do you remember any of malds WoW/league account names?

I mostly mentioned him because I hate what those code analysis videos do to beginners, and he provides easy access to beginners who want to talk about singletons or switch statements for the 1000th time. He seems to be good at the work he does off stream. I don't think he actually teaches any of those ideas, though, and just has an infinite supply of tetris code reviews.

That's true, but I don't think he needs to directly state "I am an expert programmer", because most people are going to naturally infer he's an expert programmer if they take what he says at face value. He even banned 6 million accounts.

How tall is Jason, anyway? I need a BMI check.

I bet this situation makes him so happy since he can finally do what he does best - banning accounts. That's his wheelhouse!

I think what is meant is that the plot of the Boys having to beat someone that was running around ganking everyone was made on the fly after a random got access to the private server they were using to film the episode. This lines up because Matt and Trey are known for changing story beats as they go, and I assume they had longer to work on this episode.

Thor is claiming that the design of the guy behind the keyboard doing the ganking was based on his Dad, Joeyray. The only source we have for this is Jason. This...is possible though. Matt and Trey reached out to Blizzard for this episode, and Blizzard gave them a bit of help with the animation tools. Since Joeyray was one of the Cinematic Leads at the time, Matt and Trey may have met him and based the character off of him.

Attached are the images Jason himself used for comparison.
tl;dr Believable, except for the fact that its coming from Jason which increases the fake and gay ratio.

i'm willing to bet that the south park designers designed a generic disgusting 30 year old virgin fat nerd guy to be the "man with no life" villain, because that's obviously the type of guy who would do that. and then it just so happened to be that jasons father looks like a generic disgusting 30 year old virgin fat nerd guy, and jason decided that it was completely based off his father, because that's an easy lie to tell people when you're a teenager to impress them.

This is also a superset of the group that spend their free time infiltrating and slowly subverting communities by minting and enforcing codes of conduct that ban any form of fun. I didn't think think this would turn into a rant about how much I hate programmers but I do hate all of them. On the whole they are some of the dumbest, snarkiest, smuggest retards on the planet. I am going to kill every single programmer. I have a lot more to say about programmers in my book of grudges, but maybe later.
Honestly from the outside looking in, the reason for the stereotypes "aspiring" programmers find themselves falling into is just cause of how mainstream it is now to be seen as a programmer while also the field having a pretty low bar to actually start working on your own shit. In chemistry or other applied sciences, most actual shit in the field is done through research, presented through research papers, and looked over and repeated so many times to verify accuracy on what they're talking about ideally, anyways. The closest thing I could compare to like a scientific journal for programming off the top of my head has to be GitHub but it's such a loose comparison admittedly. GitHub probably doesn't help the situation either because the group of people stating pop-programming-esque responses don't actually look through code until it's something they can get off on. Just a whole lot of circle jerking that every part of science has, amplified by beginners making successful games in light of these people who think they can do better.

The point being is that programmers (like our favorite little man Jason) and basic redditards understand enough about the field to be able to parrot whatever they learned from an intro level class, but lack the experience necessary to really understand why game developers (especially newer ones) write code the way they do. This is all speculation though so please don't take anything too seriously because I have literally no basis for anything I wrote and just drew parallels with the STEM shit I am more familiar with.

You're right though, TPD.

He even banned 6 million accounts.
Oy Vey.

I hate how he uses the term Wheelhouse all the fucking time, that doesn't mean shit. Its such an empty bullshit term because he likes the sound of his own voice.
Talk to him about "Bespoke" and you'll get him spazing out about the term.

I fucking hate Guru streamers, they are completely full of shit. You're taking people who likely are mentally very vulnerable and are looking to make games as a last ditch effort to improve their lives. So you exploit their asses by selling them shitty courses and feeding them bullshit "DONT DO THIS!" videos to gate them into failure. All the Gurus that are successful pulled up the ladder years ago you cannot replicate their success and they will do everything in their power to keep it that way. Fuck that whole community, pisses me off to no end that John Blow became one and joined in the circle jerk.

I'm aware. I don't want to derail the thread any further, but the only reason why I gave that clip is because the Kiwi I replied to seemed to think that tweet was proof that the character was not based on Maldy's dad. I was only trying to show that the tweet was specifically referring to the WOW model, not the fat nerd character.

I didn't think think this would turn into a rant about how much I hate programmers but I do hate all of them.
Programmers, especially in the modern day, need to be bullied more.
It almost hurts to type because even I know it sounds incredibly gay, but I say this as someone with a programming career. The vast majority of people I encounter in the field are damn near insufferable, often asserting every little opinion like it's the word of God.

It's a very similar impulse to the one that makes me hate Jason.

Looking at his code base after watching his inspirational shorts is like when I finally speak to the team lead/architect for a job and realize they have no fucking idea why they did what they did. He makes it sound like he’s an expert.

But as long as his game runs, a verbose solution is fine. Modern machines make most performance discussions semantics. But that code would definitely not fly on a team. Imo, programming influencers like Pirate should try to stick to best practices as much as possible because the people they are reaching may try to join the industry.

In hindsight, the fact that he calls himself an expert is a huge red flag. I’ve been in the industry for a moderate length and I tell people I’m a fucking idiot all the time. The best programmers I know never brag about how good they are.
