Yeah, the NFA is bullshit. All it did was make automatic weapons the realm of rich people.
You're thinking of FOPA, which also legalized ammunition sales by mail, ended the ATF's tracking of ammunition sales, banned ATF keeping a database of gun owners, legalized interstate sales of rifles, slapped down state laws criminalizing interstate transport of arms, and limited ATF inspections to once per year.

Blanket repeal of the NFA would repeal all that, too.

I'm not a pilot, but you need at least 250 hours to get your license and usually around 1500 to be a commercial pilot. I have no idea what military standards are but, given the last 4 years, I imagine they're quite low.
Here's some stuff from the FAA re military pilot training.

Something from the USAF.

Navy/Marine Corps.

US Army. While the Army may not fly jets, they have a rather large aviation branch, both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

What if the Supreme Court struck everything down, the Democrats continued to push retarded shit until getting truly slaughtered in the midterms, and then a comfortable GOP-majority Congress passed a law called the "Stop Acting Like Tedious Yentas" (SALTY) Act which dismantled the ATF entirely and made it legal to do whatever you want with firearms so long as you aren't hurting anyone?

Now that we have a friendly DOJ, a pro gun org should sue the federal government in the 5th Circuit alleging that the NFA is unconstitutional. The 5th will rule it unconstitutional nationwide, and the DOJ won’t appeal.
Godwilling…

But if such a lawsuit makes it to SCOTUS, they’ll cuck on it. You’d need 5 Clarence Thomas’, and there’s only one in this world. (:_(

Being less of a dumbass would help.
I love all of god’s kiwis, but if a guy in California says he’s crying about Mexicans being deported and then argues about the migrant farm worker visas being insufficient, yeah I’m not going to pick up on the sarcasm, if that’s what you’re saying it is

Guess I’m autistic, don’t really care though

The ATC just asked the helicopter if they saw the plane. That means they were already allowing the helicopter to cross an active flight lane. They should have been screaming “get the fuck out of there” at the helicopter
Perfectly legal. If they had spotted the correct plane. Probably happens at that airport alone many times a day. Same at places like LAX with high amounts of helicopter traffic.

ATC very rarely "controls" traffic if they can avoid it. Even small planes regularly get "Confirm Southwest 737 for the parallel in sight." "Traffic in sight." "Cross behind the 737, caution wake turbulence, contact tower on 123.4".

The amount of shit that FDR leaked to Stalin in general is disgusting. Truman fucking hated Stalin, rightfully so.

FDR's staff was chock full of Commies and Commie sympathizers, it's amazing the Manhattan Project didn't leak to Stalin earlier

If I can go die in a war at 18, I should be able to own a firearm at 18

100% tariffs on BRICS if they try and adopt a new currency:

I have been told repeatedly that Trump is a Russian asset or that he's best bros with Putin, not sure a Russian asset would threaten to demolish BRICS like this

"They can go find another sucker Nation" made me laugh out loud. He sure does have a way with words.

My assessment of Tulsi's hearing. She is very controlled to the point of being somewhat stiff. Given the situation, it's understandable. Bobby seemed way more relaxed, albeit annoyed and passionate.

The main points of tension are Edward Snowden (what he did was illegal, but benefitted the American people at the same time is her position I guess, the focus should be on making sure legal whistle blowing is easy to access and top secret info more carefully protected), muh Russia and Assad, and 702 (I don't honestly know anything about this or what they're upset about).

I still have about 30 minutes left, but I'm left with mixed feelings on her. On the one hand I get the impression she'll be pretty hard on the intelligence community, and push them to be more transparent, crack down on illegal activity within the intelligence community, and respect 4th ammendment rights in how they collect their information. From what she said, anyway.

On the other hand, I get a slightly off feeling about her. I don't know why though, it's not based on anything she's actually said. Maybe I'm just picking up on the career climbing other people commented on earlier.

I think if she gets confirmed I'll keep a close eye on what she actually does with the position. I'm not so much concerned about what she does with DNI because fuck glowies, but rather I do suspect she'll try to be Vance's VP and that does make me a little nervous. I don't feel 100% negative, but not glowingly positive either.

You're still sperging? I can see why "butthurt' and "poles" end up so often in one sentence. On /pol/ and everywhere else.
Godwilling…

I hope that changes. Just imagine stacking up the Supreme Court even further during Trump's term, you know by this point he would only appoint hardliners.

I don’t think an air traffic controller has to break the law to get someone killed

The word “controller” is important. They’re not an air traffic advisor, or an air traffic negotiator. They’re given the power to fuck up a pilots’ career over getting attitude because they’re higher on the FAA totem pole, so if they glibly allow a helicopter that appears to be following the river to multitask sightseeing with their mandatory flight hours, to cross lanes passenger jets are trying to land in, that’s THEIR fuckup

I'm extremely doomerpilled on gun rights. I believe they are the #1 most important right in the USA and the current administration, despite doing some based things, gives absolutely zero fucks about them. His first term Trump banned bump stocks which proves to me that he doesn't really care about 2a, and I have zero faith that the executive or judicial branches will do anything.
Blue states will continue to restrict our most important constitutional right and NOTHING will be done about it. Even if an AWB made it to the SCOTUS I have a feeling they would cuck out.

Damn it's almost as things can happen and don't stay the same, the thing I'm talking about is a more recent development. You are aware he has a thread here so you can look things up, but I would understand how you wouldn't want to considering how unfun that thread is.

Yeah it reminds me of the Elon thread where everyone is more focused on dunking on the man then actually chronicling him and doing analysis.

I think he's still making a decent point and not out and out saying the satanic panic was fake. It was more blown out of proportion and promoted by grifters and the media. Although I admit I do not know the first recorded instance of the panic.
Whoever is the ATC person that screwed up better hope there's no good ol' Soviet Russians out there. They'll come kill you about be awarded medal, like my avatar level.

Vitaly Konstantinovich Kaloyev (Russian: Виталий Константинович Калоев, IPA: [vʲɪˈtalʲɪj kənstɐnʲˈtʲinəvʲɪtɕ kɐˈlojɪf]; Ossetian: Калоты Къостайы фырт Витали, romanized: Kaloty Qostaiy fyrt Vitali, IPA: [kɑloˈtə qostɑˈjə ˈfərt viˈtɑli]; born 15 January 1956) is a Russian former architect and convicted murderer who was found guilty of the premeditated killing of an air traffic controller after his family died aboard BAL Bashkirian Airlines Flight 2937, which collided with DHL International Aviation ME Flight 611 over Überlingen, Germany, on 1 July 2002.

Later, after his release from prison, Kaloyev was appointed deputy minister of construction of North Ossetia–Alania. In 2016, upon retirement from the local Ossetian government, Kaloyev was awarded the highest regional medal by that government, the medal "To the Glory of Ossetia". The medal is awarded for the highest achievements, improving the living conditions of the inhabitants of the region, for educating the younger generation and maintaining law and order.
This reminds me of the Arnold movie where he plays a real life guy that murdered a traffic controller. Pretty wild, I'll have to check it out.

Oh shit it's the same guy

She seems way too controlled. Almost like a perfect actress.

Just remember that Trump pushed that retarded bump stock ban after the Las Vegas shooting. Trump may be doing his best to fix the country right now, but he is not the friend of the 2A.

My preference is for farm work to be done by Americans, and for illegal aliens to not have any way to make money here.

It feels like no one outside of a few senators/state officials are actually supportive of the 2a. The VAST majority of state and federal governments, including the current administration, do not support our fundamental right to bear arms unfortunately. And it doesn't seem like it's going to get any better anytime soon.
