I also never quite got bullying Arthur for wearing glasses because most the population seems to need glasses these days

When it's not your typical nerd stereotype, kids see it as an "old people" thing to get glasses. But because they can't call you "old" since you're the same age/height (usually), they were quick to point out how big or ill-fitting the frames would look, especially if they made your eyes look freakishly big, and pretty much wouldn't believe you if you said how blurry everything was without them.

Also have to remember back then that not every kid your age would have glasses, so it was considered unusual. There's only been a rise in children needing glasses likely because of tablet and phone use, so they probably don't bully each other about it anymore.

Man, I've read a few furry comics that were storytimed on /co/ 10+ years ago. They're all like this. Furries really love to proclaim that their subculture is full of rich and successful individuals, and that being social pariahs is a really cool way to stick-it-to-the-man, but go on to portray themselves in their creative works as cringefail losers.

Please. Make an original plot/scenario for once. Please. I don't want relatable quirky furry character with obvious popular indie VA slapped in it as a guest VA or a whole main character as a cartoon concept again. Stuff like this really does continue to help show that indie does not always mean better. I will not be surprised if they slam Michael Kovak in there. Ugh.

My guess is it's going to be like every other indie pilot out there right now. It's going to be "lol so relatable XD" humor that only socially inept college students and failed animators will identify with.

Now that I type that out, that's something I dislike about these indie "pilots": They're all incestuous as the only people who will really enjoy them (and thus be the only people to back said projects) are fellow animators or animation enjoyers. I don't think I've seen many pitches that have made the effort to appeal to a broad general audience. I really want to WANT to support indie projects but I'm not going to if they trigger my DOA sense.

Given the absolute human waste that populates the industry, how has she managed to whip them into making something serviceable, while bigger studios with bigger budgets and more experienced management can't get their artslaves to produce anything memorable?

She's a hack but a hack from a specific time when Channel 101, Coilhouse Magazine, and Jhonen Vasquez ruled over Deviantart retards who could actually draw.

TADC is probably a huge example of this. It's an indie show that's clearly catered to quirky internet people but it also ended up becoming something even people irl were referencing and bootleg merchandising.

But for people like Izzzyzzz, you can absolutely tell it's guaranteed to only be remembered by internet dwellers and fellow animators/animation enjoyers who feel obligated to watch and overly praise it because it got the "indie" tag slapped over it like discarded glue. Like with anything, if I have to like something because it's of a certain "underrated/underrepresented" label, then I'm not gonna care for it. Same if I have to care for a black creator's work just because he's black and not because more people deserve to see his work.

Let me care about the product, not about its status or creator.
