inZOI is a Korean Life Simulation game being made by KRAFTON, who is most known for making PUBG. The Early Access for the game will be releasing on March 28, and will cost $40.

UPDATE: KRAFTON announced that Denuvo Anti-Tamper will be removed from the game.

However, it was recently discovered that the Creative Studio demo for the game, which is available now until the release of Early Access, has Denuvo Anti-Tamper in it, and KRAFTON has not disclosed that information:

80lv Article about Denuvo in the inZOI demo / Archive

The game's subreddit and their Discord have been removing any mentions about Denuvo, so KRAFTON may be trying to hide the existence of it, which is against Steam's TOU and the EU's GDPR regulations. There's also a chance that it could be a situation similar to how The Sims 1 and 2's Legacy Collection was mistakenly labelled as having Denuvo on Steam, but it didn't have it and the label was removed. Or it could be another Indiana Jones and the Great Circle situation where it was only in reviewer copies, but not in the release game.

The game also has very high system requirements, although it's to be seen how of it is because of Denuvo being in the game (if it actually is in the game), and how optimized (or lack thereof) the game is, since it uses Unreal Engine 5:

Some people are also concerned about the use of AI with the game, i.e. the 3D printer feature.

Some players are also concerned that the game may not be as modder-friendly as The Sims games are:

Some people think that it's because KRAFTON does not want NSFW mods, since they would be held liable for them by the South Korean government, because of their extremely strict anti-pornography laws. Others thing it's because of KRAFTON's history of microtransactions with PUBG, and they're trying to lock down the game so that modders can't access the DLC items for free, which has recently happened with WWE 2K25, because the new microtransaction mode called The Island is not available on the PC version of the game.

So will the game actually get EA to make an actual proper Sims game, or will it just fade away like other Early Access games in the past?

Do I even need to say anything?

I appreciate the competition, I just don't like how inZOI is done.

Besides the aforementioned shady behavior and the developer's past history, I have to agree on the visuals. I think it extends to the UI and marketing, too. It's all extremely bland and sterile.

I think the main thing a lot of these Sims competitors are missing is charm. Everyone talks about how wacky and goofy Sims 1-2 (and arguably 3 at points) are, but nobody seems to actually take it into account as an important facet of the series. It's a huge part of why the Sims 4 is so hated-- they killed the unique Maxis style of humor in favor of retarded qUirKy reddit shit-- but nobody making a competitor seems to be able to pick up on that.

inZOI is touting all these realistic and vaunted features, stuff like being able to create literally any object through AI or being very specific about personalities and appearance tweaking, but there's absolutely no heart to any of it. All of the interfaces are very clinical and calculated, with even normal human actions coming off as robotic at worst and influencer-tier exaggerations at best. The prerelease gameplay trailers for inZOI made my skin crawl and I sincerely hope there's some better animation in the full release. It feels very insincere; like a calculated attempt to cash in on a monopolized genre instead of a heartfelt attempt at capturing why people loved it so much.

The same can apply to Life By You, in almost the exact same ways, despite that game's cancellation. There was so much emphasis placed on features fans wanted from the Sims that most of the marketing material ended up focusing on mundane chores and catty gossip when talking about actual gameplay. How many trailers for games like this have you seen where 90% of the shown gameplay is just "not-Sim has a conversation with another not-Sim, look at how lively it is! Then, not-Sim gets a not-Wish, performs the not-Wish to earn not-Lifetime Fulfillment Points, then goes to bed"?

Paralives is unfortunately the closest any of these competitors get to capturing the Sims' charm, and I only say that because it bothers to stylize at all instead of going for "Nintendo hire this man" realistic 4k graphics that just dip into uncanny territory. It is otherwise brought down by its repugnant political posturing and glacial pace of development.

Save for Paralives, all of these competitors are also being made by companies known for their horrific monetization schemes. KRAFTON's past is already covered here, but Paradox is also infamous for releasing shallow games that are milked with DLC for 10+ years after release. Sims 4 is partially despised for doing the exact same thing Paradox has done with their more recent games: launching in a shallow, arguably-unfinished state and spending the next 10 years sucking their audience dry with DLC instead of actually fixing the game.

I do think inZOI is the best bet for a Sims competitor though, unfortunately, if only due to the fact that it probably has the building audience captured completely. As well as the fact that Paralives isn't coming out in the next decade and Life By You got cancelled. The ability to make almost any kind of furniture easily makes it a dream come true for aspiring interior designers, and the lighting is probably great for photos, so I think that it might be able to have some limited success with the house-building crowd that Sims 4 seems to be disappointing. Those system requirements will be a huge hurdle to get over, though. I hope they're toned down soon.

This faggot is big mad about the difficulty of having a same sex relationship. All of the townies are straight so you can only have gay zois if you create them yourself. There's a lot of seething in this video.

You can't call your partner husband or wife, just partner. You have the concept of trannies of course, it is current year.

I feel like it's got a lot of potential and anything that provides competition to EA is good in my book. I think they've gone too long without any and the Sims has suffered from it, as well as the pocketboo of any retard who pays for the millions of dlcs.

I'm going to get inzoi next month.

i mean the minimum specs are literally owning any desktop computer with a gpu from the last 7 years, even the medium and recommended are just asking for you to own a gpu from the last 5 years, ram is basically $2 a GB now and yeah it probably would be a hassle if you just have a pre-built because corporations are fucking cheap assholes but a computer that could run this at recommended easily costs under $600 if you built it yourself. people forget how impossible it used to be to even use a 5 year old computer when it came to gaming, but requirements have been so low for years now because of having to run on consoles that people fucking forgot that it used to be weird to be able to play new releases at ultra on old computers

The vast majority of both gamers and consumers in general don't build their own PCs, which is why I mentioned that it would be a hurdle. I'm sure it'll be fine for the hardcores, there are very few things that aren't.

One of the main benefits of modern gaming, really. I don't think anyone misses having to upgrade their entire computer every three to five years lol.

even then you mainly just have to upgrade your GPU and possibly ram. at this point i'm more in danger of an HDD failing than needing to upgrade for a new computer. having said that i probably will upgrade now that DDR5 has come out

Regarding Denovo, they have decided to remove it.

They're also opening up the ability to mod the game in May.

Regarding the Removal of Denuvo from inZOI

Hello,
This is Kjun, Producer & Director of inZOI.
Recently, we’ve seen growing concern around the implementation of the Denuvo anti-tamper solution in inZOI. While we wanted to respond as quickly as possible, we also felt it was important to approach the issue with care—consulting with teams from around the world to make a thoughtful and informed decision. We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing this official response.
To address the most important point: we have decided to remove Denuvo from the Early Access build of inZOI.
We initially chose to implement Denuvo as a way to protect the game from illegal distribution. At the time, we believed this would help ensure fairness for players who had properly purchased the game. However, after taking a closer look at community feedback, we quickly realized that this approach did not align with what our players wanted.
Our initial application of Denuvo on our main development build made it so that the inZOI: Creative Studio demo build, a branch from the main build, was also applied with the same anti-tamper. Unfortunately, we failed to properly inform our players of this application during the demo period, and we sincerely apologize for that oversight.
We understand that removing Denuvo increases the risk of the game being cracked and illegally distributed after release. At the same time, we believe it opens up a valuable opportunity: it allows inZOI to become more freely configurable—unlocking new ways for players to shape new experiences for other players. We believe enabling this freedom from the very beginning will lead to innovative and long-lasting enjoyment for the community.
As I mentioned during the Online Showcase, we are committed to making inZOI a highly moddable game. Our first stage of official mod support will launch in May, allowing players to use tools like Maya and Blender to create custom content. But this is only the beginning. Over time, we plan to expand mod support across more areas of the game, so you can customize and enhance your experience in many different ways. With the removal of Denuvo, we hope to foster an even more open environment for modders to create and share unique experiences for other players. (More information on modding will be shared in a separate post.)
Throughout this process, we’ve come to understand that Denuvo could negatively impact the player experience far more than we originally anticipated. As a development team committed to putting players first, the decision to remove the anti-tamper solution became a clear one. We will continue to prioritize your feedback and make well-informed decisions throughout our Early Access development.
We want to sincerely apologize for not aligning more closely with player expectations on this sensitive issue. We regret the concern and confusion this has caused within the community, and we’re committed to rebuilding your trust as we move forward in developing the best possible experience.
Thank you so much for your continued love and support. Please keep sharing your feedback, as it truly helps us make inZOI better for everyone.
Sincerely,
Kjun

Typical "Oops we got caught" statement, but hopefully they mean it.

This faggot is big mad about the difficulty of having a same sex relationship.
I admit I used to watch Satch and I appreciated that he is one of the few Sims creators who would criticize the franchise, but over time I started to notice that almost every single one of his videos had a weird and seemingly out of the blue sex joke inserted (huehue) into them and it has started to give me the ick. I don't want to hear about anal sex, just tell me about the game

Good. The open inclusion of weird lifestyles, instead of just letting the player add them if they want to, was a major shift in things going down in Sims.

It also majorly tanked the community into yet another rainbow worship cult. It should be as hard to access and easy to miss as possible.

I hope anyone considering this game will give this company their full support for listening to their community and taking such a pro-gamer/pro-consumer stance. This kind of behavior is quite rare, we need to do everything we can to support companies like this to show them that not treating gamers like dirty thieves is to their benefit, not their detriment.

(Plus, the lack of trannies puts this game literally leagues ahead of a number of recent, larger titles...)
