Is a rolling LAN center stupid? Fuck yea it is, this thing is a huge rolling financial burden, and good luck generating any reasonable return with it. But its gonna be an order of magnitude cheaper to build that truck than trying to refit a vehicle dedicated to spraying water to be useful for electronics. Kind of opposite fields here, yknow?
I heard him say that mobile LAN Center and had to rewind just to make sure I wasn't zoning out. There's a number of big and empty vehicles you can trick out, and for some reason, Linus thinks he's gonna be able to deck out a fire engine (which is already a tricked out tanker). Nigger, get a van; or see if you can buy something like an 80% RV, you're not gonna rework all the engineering that goes into a fire engine; you don't have that kind of money, and if you do, just give me a cool million, I'll be more productive with it. Granted, I haven't put much thought into it, but if I had a fire truck, the one thing I'd do is sanitize all the parts related to the water system; and do something with Mountain Dew, like get a deal with Taco Bell and do some weird Baja Blast thing, like driving around Vancouver and just blasting kids with it.

I didn't watch more than a few min. I applaud you for making it further. The whole thing looks so braindead. Was the LAN Center like an April fools joke, or like for real?

March 31st? Someone already mentioned that. Yes, it means Linus fucked up and posted his stupid april fools day video early.
So did he not actually buy the truck, or he did actually buy a truck as the April fools joke? If that's the real cost, it's pretty cheap; like literally half the cost of a 2020 4Runner TRD or something.

The "firetrucks retire at 100k" seems like BS though. I'd think most firetrucks would get to 300k~500k before being put out of service. Semi engines usually get over 1 million km before they get rebuilt. Granted firetrucks don't make long hauls, but they still move a lot and have similar diesel engines.

You can find listings for used fire trucks all over the place(hell apparently firetruckmall.com is even a thing and out of all of their listings, only 14 of 1100 are over 200k) they aren't hitting 300-500k miles or kilometers or whatever. They'll rack up a lot of engine run time, but the reality is most fire trucks aren't out driving around all day. They drive to a couple incidents a day near to the fire station, idle for as long as necessary, and then get driven back to the nearby station unless some truly crazy shit is going on where it's so bad that the fire stations on the other side of town are rolling out trucks for assistance.

Semi trucks on the other hand for cargo get paid for hauling so sitting around is not making money hence needing to restrict the number of hours those drivers are legally allowed to drive per day(or doing it in teams for long haul driving sometimes).

He's probably just an idiot and posted the video a few hours early, and probably just rented one for the dumb little stunt.

Merch is a big money maker for many creators. Most of them outsource the work to third parties while LTT does it in house. Mr Beast runs a similar operation although at a much larger scale.
Just look at bands. Generally speaking it costs between 6 to 12 dollars to make a screen printed t-shirt. A single color generic shirt is roughly 6 dollars. That goes down depending on your order size. So printing up 5000 shirts to sell for 20 to 25 bucks is over 100k in gross revenue alone. There's a reason everyone sells them, the profit margins are huge and once you've got a design nailed down you can shop around to keep prices low or have them printed on demand in the case of needing more for an event.

It was at the end of the video; was saying something about how he plans for various things to do with the truck. He didn't specify too many, but one was making a Mobile LAN Center.

A few thoughts on, and clips of, the most recent WAN Show. Linus seems to be spiraling and going on ever longer narcissistic rants. It’s been pretty much impossible to listen to the WAN Show for a few years now. Linus’ personality has gotten unbearably grating.

Confirmation of redditor's revenue breakdown

Linus addressed the Reddit post about LMG's revenue breakdown. But despite being given a perfect out by Elijah's show note, Linus decided, for some reason, to confirm the redditor's revenue speculations as true. Confirmed: LMG makes somewhere between $32.6 and $65.3 million.
"Yeah, it probably is somewhere in that range."

Luke was denied a raise

Another interesting moment is when Linus revealed that Luke had asked him for a raise but was refused by Linus because they're "friends" and it would have been a "mistake." Linus said that when Luke approached him to discuss compensation, Linus promptly removed his "company hat" and offered him "friend advice" instead.
Keep in mind that Luke Lafreniere is the second employee of LMG, yet to my knowledge, he hasn’t been given any shares in the company and is horribly underpaid.

Employees failing internal phishing tests

Linus kept falling for phishing attacks, so they're forced to "have training now" at LMG, which is a good thing. But I'm not sure that it's working.
"[W]e have training now... It's still possible that it could happen to us. Hopefully, the training... will reduce the amount of times that it happens... Now if someone here fails their training, like multiple times, or they make mistakes multiple times and it's the same person, then that starts to be like, 'Okay, you need to take this more seriously,' because we're going to send out phishing tests again..."

Judging by the tone of Luke's voice, it really does sound like that "someone", who failed the internal phishing test, is Linus. After all, it had happened to him twice now. And Luke is quick to brush off Linus' previous fuck-ups as him being so very busy and distracted, barbecuing with his family and stuff. I'm pretty sure that the only reason LMG has to run these now is because of Linus.

Restructuring

Linus announced a restructuring of LMG, live on WAN Show.

Imagine finding out that you're out of a job via livestream.
"I could livestream myself, like, joyfully terminating everyone, like, one at a time."

Linus said he discussed the "famous Trust Me Bro -guarantee that for whatever reason turned into a scandal" with another creator years ago. Back then, this creator was totally on board with whatever Linus was doing, but then they got "confused" and turned Linus' lack of warranty into a controversy. Is this about Rossmann or Steve from GamersNexus?
"I had a long conversation with another creator many years ago about how, obviously, we'd be in a position where, regardless of our stated warranty policies, we'd be insane to step out of line in any way. This long conversation was very well understood by the other creator at the time, and I don't know, somewhere along the line, someone got confused about it at some point. We had the 'Trust Me Bro' controversy, but yeah."

Linus is tired of getting hate for no reason at all. It’s funny how Linus praises Buildzoid’s cucking out, saying that this is what taking accountability for your actions looks like, while failing to take any accountability for his own actions. Why do you think you're getting hate, Linus? Typical Narc behavior.
"For my part, I'm just feeling so done with this whole thing where I get shots taken at me, and I'm held to this standard of perfection in public that I never set for myself or anyone else."

"What if someone was kind of a dick and realized they were kind of a dick and they shouldn't and then they apologized..."

"I don't actually think a lot of people know why they hate me."

"Why is being a dick to people cool? [...] You should, like, be a reasonable human and engage in good faith."

Linus also said that he was forced to leave his dad's house in a hurry, packing only the essentials and leaving everything behind. I wonder what happened. I know that mental illness runs in his family, and that his brother transitioned into a sister and another sister committed suicide just recently.

I'm sure there are exceptions; but pretty sure this is also why I've heard people say something like "Don't go into business with friends." Because one way or another, someone's gonna get fucked, not be happy about it, and instead of being a business, you're seen as "friends." Well okay Linus, if you want to be a friend to him; instead of a raise, you should finance some big ticket items for Luke. You get to have your gay tech house, Porsche EV, and other shit; send Luke and his lady house hunting and let LMG pick up the tab. I'm not saying Luke is gonna start destroying shit from the inside, but you don't get refused a raise via "friendship" and leave it at that; especially with all the "look at all the cool shit in my house" Linus does.

You weren't kidding, Linus seems weirdly/negatively amped the entire show.

Linus announced a restructuring of LMG, live on WAN Show.
Specific to the restructuring, what a weird ass thing to say.
Could mean a lot of different things, but I'd wager more og LTT employees are intending to leave this year, and this "restructuring" helps distribute people under different managers. Or of course it's just Linus playing yet more tax games.

Luke was denied a raise
This is 100% related to the fact Luke has been acting-chief of LTT Labs for a year now. Replacing Gary Key; someone who was getting paid hundreds-of-thousands of dollars, and yet is still making a paltry salary that he *self-admits* is not enough to move out of the tiny apartment he, his girlfriend, and a 3rd roommate rent together.

According to Dubbing Wiki he's 38. And wow did they choose a terrible picture of him for his article lol:

Go work with gn, luke. They've offered you a job and it would be way better than with this nutter.
How the fuck has no one from the company become a whistleblower yet. I'd lose my mind in a month working under someone that lost in their own delusions
There was that one chick but she was a bit wacky herself.

1.thanks and 2. thats my favorite part of the internet, there are multiple wikia pages and wikipedia pages where it feels like the janny deliberately only puts up the worst photos of people, and even if you try to change them to more accurate photos they make sure to only use their worst photos where they're the most puffy and deformed. Like a janny has a grudge against them

I've worked in a company that due to nature of a our work it was basically it's own community, the bosses loved trying to keep up the "we're one big family" facade by throwing bbq parties etc just to avoid people leaving due to the pay and conditions being shit. LMG seems very similar to me. Funnily enough the company I worked at was a owned by a couple too.

I think they do it for copyright reasons, i know that’s how it is for Wikipedia.
