I arrived on Karl's channel after the suicide, I only ever heard mentions of Apollo as "some guy who grifted for attention and got sued for defamation by Billy", likely videos that were made before the suicide happened and after that obviously people completely dark-holed anything that had to do with Apollo Legend.
So I had no real knowledge about the backstory, only heard about the guy as a sidenote and then Karl accused Billy of being responsible in the video, which I saw when it went live, and then I never saw the retraction, never saw any discussion about it on Youtube and since I do not have any social media accounts I also never saw any discussions about it anywhere.
I only watched Karl's videos for entertainment, just like Asmonslop and FloridaMan (Charlie) are slop commentary drama channels on YouTube that just milk content for easy money, that was the type of channel Karl Jobst was for me.
My entire impression of Billy was formed through Karl Jobst, Mutahar and videos they produced and/or other creator's videos they referred to in their's. I watched some other channels, but I do not remember any channel names so I never spent to much time there.
The MAME accusation is in my opinion pretty rock solid and if Billy had just stopped going after people the topic would have disappeared years ago.
BUT, the MAME accusation is not something Karl investigated and proved himself, he is just a re-poster who takes other people's work and makes a video about it. So getting that RIGHT is not a Karl Jobst achievement, he is just lucky those accusations were well enough researched that he would have likely had a chance to win if they became a court matter.
But, the accusation that Billy caused Apollo's suicide was slipped between credible content and I never saw the retraction. I never saw a follow up or any kind of correction, retraction or apology. To me that accusation remained "true" as long as I believed Karl Jobst to not intentionally lie to his audience over something he would obviously get sued over.
I know now that a video exists in which he shows Billy explicitly stating what the lawsuit is about, but then Karl claims "that is all wrong", thereby making it sound like Billy is NOT suing over that, while he likely meant to say "but while Billy is suing me over that, I had legit reason to think it true". Karl not once straight up explained it to his audience, even when he asked for money to defend himself he mentions a total of three lawsuits, two of which he previously made videos about showing the concern notices, meaning the viewer saw what it was about, which was cheating, which he conveniently forgot to do for the 3rd lawsuit.
He also forgot to tell me, his viewer, that the first two lawsuits (about cheating) had been dropped and only the 3rd remained. And he was still collecting money on a GoFundMe that was, at that point in time, factually incorrect since there weren't three lawsuits ongoing.
I had a pretty severe dislike for Billy based on the information presented to me by Karl, and while I still think that filing litigation to shut people up who are speaking the truth is something only total faggots do, I'd happily sign an affidavit stating that Karl Jobst made me believe Billy caused Apollo's death.
As Karl's viewer it is not MY job to go looking for information to reverse an opinion I formed based on false information provided to me by Karl. It is his job to make his retraction in a manner that I am likely to see it. And he did not do that. So he can suffah in poverty.
