So I fired it up randomly last night with a ton of browsers in open in the background and god knows what other programs were running and it ran fine. I was pretty impressed and played a bit of the opening to see how it ran.

This morning on freshly loaded om laptop with nothing running the intro shat the bed and the sound was clipping like hell.

I blame Elon Musk and his Indians for this.

Doubt it, this uses UE5 where as i believe ES6 uses the same creation engine starfield does. It's nostalgia bait and while I was somewhat excited, I'm less excited now its out

It uses UE5 as a graphical engine, but under the hood it's all still CE. I have no idea what rendering pipeline they intend to use for TESVI, but it wouldn't surprise me if this might be a test run of the double-layer amalgamate that they might end up using for something.

Having spent a couple of hours with this now, I think I've got to the bottom of why the character models are so jarring for me. Its the transition from Oblivion's more caricature-like models to "realistic" ones. They're like someone has taken pictures of the original models and asked AI to make them look photorealistic. Sometimes this works, but most of the time it doesn't, and the end result coupled with the animation makes them look like you're playing a Robot Chicken version of Oblivion.

The Khajiit and Argonian models, while they might give off "look at how they massacred my boy" vibes, arguably look more "realistic" when you're in conversation with them. On the announcement show they did mention that they were using different facial animations for each race and it is fairly obvious this is the case. In the case of the human/elven models though, they look like the rig is too big for the face. The idle animations and those used to add a bit of life to conversations are fine, but as soon as they start talking it all goes a bit Wallace & Gromit.

And I really miss the unintentionally creepy zoom when initiating a conversation.

It was bitched about for both, and it's equally as pointless especially if the player character's sex has no impact whatsoever on the game. It literally means nothing in Palworld, because the game is about Pals, not you. You are a cardboard cutout that can wear a fancy hat. For like the third time I'm going to also say that the breeding pen, where the Pals FUCK, requires a MALE and a FEMALE. The tooltip literally says Male/Female not present if either is missing.

I think its more some ESG shit. people forget how deep the rabithole went with ESG a while ago, and how some companies straight up RAN on loans from blackrock with help from sweetbabyinc and the like.

For those unaware, ESG / Woke / DEI (its all the same basically) is kinda institutionalized, and organizations will give you "credit" depending on how woke you are. So if you make it really really really woke, you basically get free money (like dustborn). I suspect "body types" is some of the basic bitch ESG credit requirements. So I think since its a 1 time thing in most game designs, MOST just say "fine, give me 50k$ and ill do the gay ass body type".

Pretty much. My interest is definitely waning now and if I'd paid for it I'd be pissed. I'm up to Path of Dawn, done 3-4 Ayleid dungeons, and a few random quests around the Imperial City. At this point I'm considering uninstalling and putting my old build on. I haven't done a full playthrough for a couple of years and this is making me want to, just not on whatever this is supposed to be.

Just started playing it and while everything about the game's presentation is ass, I will say some good things: At least the console gives you information about commands, and the devs did something Bethesda could never be bothered to do: Add an FOV slider. Running on a potato using a 1050TI on low settings. Haven't left the tutorial, but it never dips below 50 frames.
