They're very poorly attempting to show she's hiding her pain, but the problem is that you don't get the feeling that it's actually happening or genuine. Mainly because both idiots wrote her as a quippy and mouthy cunt for the entire run. They also did not give her any private moments to "drop the facade".Tried to give Bella Ramsey a chance but it's ludicrous watching her try to play a character like Ellie in part 2. You legitimately forget that Joel's even dead, she's so chirpy and upbeat when they're not encountering infected or enemies.
Dunno if it's Cuckman trying to make his game look better in comparison by crashing the show, or if this is just fucking Marvelitis where they're literally incapable of processing negative emotions.
This I think some of the reason this awkward and unearned romance gets so much screen time was in response to the gay episode in the first season that people liked. It's also pretty clear Cuckman wants to make it so that when Dinah ditches it hurts more, since he clearly is fucking insane and should be booted from power. He's literally doing the same thing and expecting a different result. The writing is absolutely atrocious too though. Just one example from the last episode is them just about escaping death to then Ellie pleading for her life and then the next second she's fingering Dina on the floor and they're talking about "starting a family" when they're weren't even a couple a few moments before lmao. It's one of the most clumsily handled romances I've ever seen in any medium. Like fan fiction a teenager would write.
Also the funny thing is that by emphasizing this horrible romance that came out of nowhere, it just turns off most of the audience. And the focus gets weird given how hard they downsold the Joel romance sidestory that existed in the first season.
This I think is Cuckman trying to re-litigate and improve his fuck-awful story. Abby was loathed by the filthy proles in the non-art industry he thinks he's better than, and he likely also somewhat is scared that she'd be hated by the TV people too. Also where the fuck is Abby? She literally hasn't had a single scene in the last two episodes and she's supposed to be the whole reason they're even in Seattle. A more minor but hilarious oversight is Shimmer. Like did they just leave him in that record shop and then apparently not even care or mention it again? lol so stupid.
Though again, to be fair, this might be the TV guys idea too. Who knows.
All I do know is that suffah Cuckman. Experience the results of your insanity and the cratering of your attempt to pretend you are a good writer.
