Came back to this post a month after I wrote it and I've just been wincing at the fact that I can't edit it after all that time has passed. How did I fuck up my arithmetic that bad when I initially made this post that I forgot how exponentials work? Triboulet on his own is an effective X2-X32 depending on the cards played (from X2^1 to X2^5) and copying him with the Blueprint takes that to X2^2 = X4 at the lowest and X2^10 = X1024 at the highest.the most you'd have gotten from Triboulet was an effective X4-X20 (depending on how many Kings/Queens you played)
Nice, those should hopefully not be too difficult now that you're on the home stretch. Hit the Road just takes some decent deck-fixing to be consistent in providing very strong XMult (obviously, the more discards you have from vouchers and either Drunkard or Merry Andy, the better).
I mean, not necessarily. If you don't manage to find any re-trigger Jokers at all you still have to be resourceful and almost everything else still has at least some niche situation or use case that makes it strong enough. Photochad isn't the end-all-be-all.Once I figured out that retrigger mogs everything, every playthrough has become a bit formulaic, especially on higher stakes
Nah its been pretty fine. I can win at gold stake with 1 or 2 jokers so the strat has been:Nice, those should hopefully not be too difficult now that you're on the home stretch.
It doesn't. You've simply found one of the many ways to play this game.Once I figured out that retrigger mogs everything, every playthrough has become a bit formulaic, especially on higher stakes
Jesus, how? Like, consistently winning runs with no more than 2 Jokers? Unless you're finding Madness or both Photo and Chad at once every first shop or you're really focusing on deck-fixing and enhancements (fuck trying to do Jokerless outside of the actual challenge run) I can't think of many ways to do that consistently.I can win at gold stake with 1 or 2 jokers
Yea Madness is good for this.Jesus, how? Like, consistently winning runs with no more than 2 Jokers? Binding of Isaac needs to be played before either of those, if you haven'tI might check out Bugsnax or Cult of the Lamb next.
I tend to not like rogue likes because of how long it takes before I know what any decision I make is actually going to do. Balatro is an exception because the rules are simple and most joker and card effects are explained clearly and up front.Binding of Isaac needs to be played before either of those, if you haven't
Brother, that's the OLD flash game version. He remade it in a different engine and added thousands of hours of content.I tend to not like rogue likes because of how long it takes before I know what any decision I make is actually going to do. That said, I'm open to trying out Rebirth because my experience with Isaac is from the ancient original version which I hated but I know that's not how it is at all anymore.

Now, now, I will not stand for the Obelisk slander. in the runs I've had with it during C++, even after getting the Sticker on it, it was a godsend and all it took was an early-to-mid-game pivot from the one hand type I had already spammed.I think the only Joker in the whole game that I truly hate is Obelisk. Fuck that joker. I used it one time to get the gold sticker but I will never use that stupid piece of shit ever again.
Ah yes, I have seen that one. Now, now, I will not stand for the Obelisk slander. in the runs I've had with it during C++, even after getting the Sticker on it, it was a godsend and all it took was an early-to-mid-game pivot from the one hand type I had already spammed.
Don't believe me? Here's a second opinion, watch it and weep.
I am physically incapable of not falling victim to the law of dominant strategyIt doesn't. You've simply found one of the many ways to play this game
It's very zen, I'll be watching TV shows in the evening and just play it while I do so, easily kill a few hours every night doing thatWhat is the appeal of this game? like half my friends on steam have like a minimum of 300 hours on this game. it's just a card game, I assume the game play loop is super addictive.

Finding the perfect combination of Jokers for a run is very satisfying. Dopamine hit unlimited. It's very zen, I'll be watching TV shows in the evening and just play it while I do so, easily kill a few hours every night doing that
It's also fun when you play through a really garbage run and it accidentally works. I once got to ante 19 using poor man's trib, and it's still my highest ante.Finding the perfect combination of Jokers for a run is very satisfying
