Mega Rad Gun Thread

I’ve never had any problems with my DE, it’s a Magnum Research Mk XIX in .44 mag. The only ammo restrictions are to not shoot lead bullets (it will clog the gas port - needs to be jacketed, including the base of the bullet); also the ammo should be powerful enough to cycle the action - I haven’t actually found out the minimum KE for this yet, my gun cycles my “light magnum” target reloads just fine - a 240 grain FMJ loaded to about 1100 fps.

The main recoil spring is recommended to be replaced at around 5,000 round - it will take me several years to verify this.

Shout out to ya, it's good to know there's at least one other crazy fuck on this site who was nuts enough to piss away their hard earned money on a desert eagle. Question to ya but can you ever get the smell of spent rounds out of the breach area or do I need to saturate it in brake cleaner?

I have one of the newer XIX ones in .50AE and I haven't had any real issues. Granted I only have about 80 rounds through it. There was one time it cycled a round and the trigger was dead, only had that happen once. The only ammo brand I've used is Steinels 300gr JHP, I like them alot.

I got into the .44 magnum a while back and already had a few revolvers chambered in it - getting a DE just seemed like the next thing to try, plus the cool factor.

I think Hoppe’s usually overpowers any other odors.

That sounds like fudd lore
It almost certainly was, I just never bothered to really look into it. It was from a forum that was also warning not to get a three position selector switch for my AR-15 “because it’s an M16 part that’s regulated and illegal” and “it’ll cause ATF to question why you have FA switch even if you have a semi auto rifle”.

Meanwhile my PTR-91 came stock with an SEF trigger group. Fudds have been and always will be retards

Just as a followup on this, it seems like they probably weren't working to undermine the HPA.

I think some people saw the vague wording of the filings and flipped out.
Just another followup. It seems pretty clear that Silencer Central did nothing wrong. This may clear it up:

Also I can't believe nobody's mentioned it yet but FRT's are officially 100% back on the menu and kosher (if legal in your state). DOJ has agreed to drop it's case against Rare Breed, accept the 5th Circuit's determination that FRT's are not machineguns as defined under the NFA, and dismiss the other cases against them in several states with prejudice.

One interesting tidbit in the DOJ statement is this: "The settlement includes agreed-upon conditions that significantly advance public safety with respect to FRTs, including that Rare Breed will not develop or design FRTs for use in any pistol and will enforce its patents to prevent infringement that could threaten public safety."

To me that's a bit strange, that they'd mention enforcing their patents. Presumably, that means that DOJ doesn't want the market to be flooded with cheap knockoffs that nogs will buy and use to spray in the air. But the conspiracy minded amongst us could read that as meaning Rare Breed will sue anyone who makes any FRT anywhere and corner the market.

The portion about "Rare Breed will not develop or design FRTs for use in any pistol" also makes me think that this is primarily about nogs with FRTs, since anyone who's been on Youtube Shorts for more than 5 minutes can tell you how much they love their switches. The cat's kind of already out of the bag though, there are companies out there selling selling handgun FRT's already.

Well I got my Gen 3 Kriss Vector ordered. Went with 9mm since it's mostly going to be a range toy and you can get 500rnds of 9mm ball for fairly cheap. I'm going to SBR it on a Form 1 as soon as I can. It should arrive in about 7-9 business days, but my FFL said that the distributor it's coming from usually has a fast turnaround time so it might be here even sooner.

They probably got spooked by the chuckle button/Alabama Custom ACT/Pembleton G-spot/that FRT for M&P's. I remember someone FOIAing a notice from the Tampa fusion center about the Dagny Dagger when it was (still is really) in testing, so the cops even in their infinite stupidity and obesity know about stuff like this.

Now supposedly allegedly maybe the below image contains an at least semi-representative cross section of these most bizzare suppressors. I think this is new as I've been somewhat curious about these suppressors and don't remember seeing the image before

From what I can tell the actual cross section image was posted by Weapons_of_Socom on Instagram but then took it down, Beach Ballistics an X/Instagram meme page then made the above image. They then allegedly received the below message (which he implied was from Strategic Sciences or someone involved with them) via DM (whether this is real or a gayop for attention like those kill flash people I dunno)

He's alleging something about an expired patent and a hurried and frantic attempt to revive it or something as well

Staying on the topic of advanced suppressors

Yeah I'm not buying the whole "we're enabling foreign adversaries" thing just by showing a picture of a cross section. That looks like something a fluid dynamics engineer came up with while he was bored on his lunch break.

It seems to also specify handgun, in this case, to be magazine-in-grip handguns. So they probably hope to prevent muddying the waters in regards to the autosear situation. You know, the nationwide problem where just about none of the felonious shooters are getting charged with possession of a machinegun.

Based. It shouldn’t be illegal to possess a machine gun.

So anything with a forward magazine is fair game?

That's even dumber. I love it.

EDIT: any word if this applies to bullpup pistols? Wish I could say I was "asking for a friend," but I own no such retard contraption.

Anyone have experience with the Zenith MP5K clones? Looking to build out a PDW for the car in the event of chimpouts so rock-solid life on the line reliability is priority one.

So with FRT's back on the menu has anyone bootstrapped a .22 S&W or CMMG conversion yet? And if so are there any reliable drums for such?
