[Important] Catbox Needs Your Help - Local Archive of blogpost

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
note that a lot of people used catbox to host really weird shit. not that i think this is good.
It's a given whenever you host anonymous file-sharing sites. Bad actors (or glowniggers) will always upload illegal content to the website to either share or blackmail the website. While I don't like the fact that people do this, these websites should have the right to exist.

Wtf is this lolicon shit in the bottom right

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the Litterbox thing that sealed the deal against them. The main site is a perfectly harmless filesharing platform, but the option to upload something then have the evidence destroy itself unfortunately appeals to the kind of people you don't want around.

It's still a shit situation though, every platform is vulnerable to being abused by bad actors, and punishing them for not being able to vet the millions of files that run through their system sets an awful precedent. It reminds me of when Trump was being a retard about Section 230 of the CDA during his first term.

Anime shit permeates a lot in tech nowadays, especially when it comes to people and services as "nomadic" (Not really the best word for it but it's the one that comes to mind) as catbox. The more obscure/"fringy" pieces of software/services are more likely to be made weebs or people into Anime.

Honestly, I wouldn't read too much into it at this point. It's pretty much a given now.

1. Catbox is a great service, this is a shame.
2. Anime and weeb shit in general goes hand in hand with public filesharing. Don't ask me why, I don't know - it just is and always has been.
3. Seeing as patreon and ko-fi went down at the same time, it was obviously co-ordinated and likely not by trannies either.

This thread makes for an amusing IQ test too. Low IQ retards will see some weebshit and instantly think it's something degenerate. Due to how filehosts like catbox operate, there's also going to be a bunch of gore, war footage and probably terrorism videos too. That doesn't make it a terrorist website for the same reason.

I feel like it'd open a lot of your eyes if you were to try run one for just 7 days because you're going to get a lot of abuse reports and you're going to see a lot of terrible shit. Public filesharing is a warzone. If you want to read more, the dude who runs lain.la publishes his transparency stuff here https://infrablog.lain.la/transparency - TL;DR, if it's legal, it's staying online.

Somewhat related but there are other, much larger filehosts that use patreon like gofile and pixeldrain which both rake in 20k+ per month. These will likely continue to be unaffected, money talks and catbox wasn't big enough for a second chance. I hope it survives.

I don't consume pornography and find no value in it but what's with all these niggers who want to burn all of society to the ground and institute draconian censorship on the off chance there is porn somewhere?

It's fucking bizarre, were you guys diddled as kids or something?

But they like to groom children instead. Or they approve only of LGBT woke porn.

That's because when Anime was starting to boom in the West, it was through filesharing. This is because the Japanese animation industry than, and still now, doesn't really care about the Western market.

Here is the now deleted Catbox.moe (google moe) FAQ explicitly allowing lolicon porn. Also declaring itself a spiritual successor to Pomf.se (google pomf).

should 4chan be taken down because /b/ has loli threads? should your ISP be destroyed because it lets you access loli hentai? should torrenting be illegal because people use it to share loli hentai?
in the United States, loli/shota is legal and as such it's not surprise that a website that allows anything legal would allow loli/shota.

Pomf.se is the original domain that pomf (https://github.com/pomf/pomf) ran on. Pomf.se was discontinued a few years ago, catbox used the same codebase and took over.

Do not upload: Child pornography (Loli/Shota: Okay)

One is illegal by US law, the other isn't. There are several threads on this site for people to sperge about this so you're either retarded, or baiting.
