Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Which ones? XIVCombo makes DRG 100x more enjoyable to the point it should be baseline.
I'm using Autoduty to level trusts + classes I have not leveled yet. It pretty much works with anything, I'm using it with NPCs only, but I bet people just bot parties with human players. Hell, the menu has Savage raids as an option.

Autoduty requires Wrath Combo or Rotation Solver which I guess are the "spam 1 button for perfect rotation" addons, but I haven't used them yet.

Artisan automatizes crafting, give it a list and it will craft away. Haven't tried max level crafts but it's pretty good for scrip farming.

GatherBuddy has a fork called Gatherbuddy Reborn which is 100% automated. Create a list of stuff to gather and it will take care of the rest. I hate buying crafter crystals from farmers, but now I'm the farmer. You can import a list from Artisan to make both plugins work together, sort of.

I will never understand why you people mod the game to play itself. Theres no fun in thaf, but to each their own. Probably since im a casual and i cant drop 12 hours of my day into the game, maybe im just not seeing it.
Every day I pray that Yoshi will add hyper intrusive ring 0 kernel level anti cheat that sends a ballistic missile to your house if you cheat so I can be free of them. And every day my prayers go unanswered. Getting rid of the cheaters and beasts would be step one towards a brighter future

Just to only speak for myself back when I still played the game and used some of these:

- Gatherbuddy aliviates the stress of having to wait for rare timed node mats to pop up and then gather them, especially if gathering for raid food/pots/gear mats in general and I'm also guilty of having used AutoHook to combat the tedium of fishing for gatherscrip farming so I can do either important IRL chores or alt-tab play something else.

- Artisan does a better job auto-crafting for you than the in-game macro's do because they don't account for latency spikes fucking up the delay timing. For the rest yeah it's easy crafting which saves me time.

- WrathCombo I got nothing for, I just like to go unga-bunga pressing as few buttons as possible because I genuinely couldn't be fucked. Not like the dev team has been dumbing down jobs themselves anyway (see BLM for example) so hey, they could render that plugin obsolete given due time anyway.

The default housing controls are barely useable and the hoops you have to jump through to make thinks like a loft actually stay up in default more than justify using dalamud and the plugin for it. There is also a really cool housing plugin that lets you save your housing layouts and import them, or use an external program to decorate a 'virtual' house and import that into the game if you have the items in your inventory.

The funny part is that Blizzard apparently baked all these things into their housing, while we are literally using the same controls from 2014.

I started playing this game last week on the free trail and have been having alot of fun with it, might upgrade to a paid account but I don't know if the dlc content is worth playing.
Most people will tell you that until the patch content of Endwalker is worth while, although EW feels incredibly rushed and really needed more time to cook. Yawntrail, your mileage may vary, but once you're sick of your replacement there's no shame in smashing the skip cutscene button.

I don't know much about dawntrail although i have seen compilations of the cat person dialogue and it makes me not want to play it.

It's for once you're done. There are 21 classes to level and at higher levels there's a single dungeon for every two levels. Leveling Roulette is mainly lower level dungeons, Alliance Roulette is almost always one of the Crystal Tower raids, and MSQDR is one of 3 dungeons forever.

I want to level other classes but there's only so much Labyrinth of the Ancients/Nero's Speech+Gaius's Speech/Sunken Temple a man can take. I'm really eyeing it now and totally get why people would use it.

You can make it all the way through base game, plus Heavensward expansion, plus Stormblood expansion. If you're a slow enough player doing literally all the content available to you as you progress through the game, you'd probably also get Shadowbringers thrown into the trial as well, if the past trend continues.
Struggles: Because you're locked out of trade and have a wallet capped at 200k gil, Crafting becomes a challenge, and you'll be hitting the gil cap frequently if you don't run off and buy some orchestrion rolls or vendor gear. You can't form parties on your own or join party finder or throw up your own pf requests on the board, but you will have access to Novice Network if you can manage to find and beg a mentor, so that will help you find groups as an alternative. Outside of Novice Network you can't send any messages but /say and /party and /alliance; /tell /yell /shout are locked away from you. You can be invited to linkshells and crossworld linkshells for communication but I rarely see it work out tbh. You can freely join Fellowships.
There's a whole damn website dedicated with providing resources for free trialers.
Take your time, don't feel rushed to subscribe, because the moment you do you get locked out of going back to this experience. Please have fun being a freeloader costing Square money.

That live letter sucked and the devs sound incompetent. They absolutely know people were holding out until OC and now the flaws of the content and of Cosmic Exploration are obvious. How about letting more than one FATE spawn at a time if you're dead set on not changing the scaling for one. I can believe the drop rate for demiatmas is 20% in instance, but you're limited to clearing CE's and fates as fast as they spawn which is slow when there's only one at a time. B-but they're going to work past the technical debt and give Viera and Hrothgar hats!

I think this is what'll push me to let my sub run out. What they can do is always going to be bottlenecked by development costs and it's clear to me they've gotten worse at what they ARE doing for the game.

did they ever add in an option to squish down the 1-2-3 combos into 1 button like PVP? i think having a toggle for that wouldnt be that bad on paper
could be mistaken, but they did it for select job actions that were introduce in Dawntrail along with Viper/Picto having it. Majority of my cross bars are empty on those 2 jobs, but damn it feels like I'm eating glue with how little buttons I'm pressing.

They've mashed some things together to reduce button bloat (PLD was a big benefactor of this) but otherwise no square considers 123123 to be gameplay. XIVCombo will put all that crap on a single button, which is as far as I will go with automating this game. It's a huge QOL improvement.

FF14 is and never becomes a good MMO experience so your enjoyment depends mainly on the the visual novel story. ARR through Stormblood is about geopolitical conflict where the limited physical limitations of the world and consequences cannot be handwaved away. If you like that story then you will be disappointed by the direction the story goes after Stormblood, as it ditches the geopolitical conflict, handwaves away resource shortages/animosity between groups/issues/etc (the inner provinces and Garlemald that was promised storyline never came to fruition), and the story becomes about a small handful of sulking immortals. The story rehashes satanic messaging three expansions in a row. You will stop getting a side party of locals and will almost exclusively only adventure from the samey Scions. Setting aside the writing and plot construction, the moment-to-moment experience of going through the story will be padded out tremendously as you go many more hours without any tension or setpieces. You will spend more and more time running between NPCs to read dialogue boxes or watch canned cutscenes where people stand around in a circle and emote.

I do not think the story becomes irredeemably bad, but you are going to have to like FF14 for things other than the story for it to be worth spending another 300+ hours progressing through after Stormblood, mainly the visuals and the music. But you are also going to have to decide whether or not that is worth your time versus playing through and completing a classic JRPGs that are only 30 hours long.

FFXIV feels like it is ashamed that it is a game instead of a visual novel or some kind of movie/series.

"Okay, player this quest is to go talk to guy"
>Talk to NPC, Cutscene
"Now another guy"
>Travel to NPC, Talk to NPC, Cutscene
"Now another guy"
>Travel to NPC, Talk to NPC, Cutscene
"Oh...here's a mission to go kill a couple of things, i guess.... if you want.."
>Kill two monster, talk to NPC
"Now another guy"
>Travel to NPC, Talk to NPC, Cutscene
"Now another guy"
>Travel to NPC, Talk to NPC, Cutscene
"Okay... here is a dungeon...sorry about that. Hurry up and finish so we can get back to more talking!"
