One thing I did neglect to mention all this time is that the UK petition has also been gathering a lot of numbers!

Around the time that Ross uploaded his response to Mald (June 23), the petition had been sitting at just over 16,000 signatures, out of a minimum 100,000 needed for the petition to be considered for parliamentary debate.

Only 3 days later on June 26, the number of signatures quite literally doubled by the same time of day (8PM) as the earlier archive.

View attachment 7569738

Now, at the time of writing, the petition is sitting at close to 42,000 signatures.

Furthermore, I also took a look at the signature map and spotted something which I found deeply amusing. Notice how over up in Scotland there's one particular constituency which is quite dense with signatories, that being Dundee Central.

Dundee is in fact the town/city where YoYo Games are headquartered, and as we all know, YYG are the developers of the GameMaker engine and IDE, which Mald himself just so happens to be using to develop ShartBound in.

:story:

(EDIT: I just quickly glossed over the map again, Dundee is in fact the most concentrated constituency in the UK so far for signatures on the SKG petition. God truly is the greatest comedian and I'm fucking cackling right now.)
Dundee is also home to Abertay, the best University for game development in Europe for the better part of a decade. There are A LOT of aspiring game devs that feel very strongly about this topic there, town is also riddled with game studios - you can look at the employee list of nearly all of the biggest studios in the world and find Abertay Alumni, they have actual pedigree when it comes to games (unlike Jason).

TLDR: Dundee is a relatively big name in the games industry.

I get where Ross is coming from, normies will just lookup KF on google and see the hit pieces from journos or Wikipedia and then just think it’s best to avoid this place.
However there has been good that has come out of this place; most notably imo is the monkey abuse ring that was exposed and has had criminal justice brought against those that were participants in those evil acts. Obviously you won’t see or hear about it on Wikipedia, probably in part because the admins there are connected to the bad parts of internet related culture.
Didn't KF also take down Nick Bates?

No, I think that one was the law actually doing its job for once. Of course they didn't bother with him until AFTER he raped his sister, despite all the shit he said online. My timeline could be off, but I'm pretty sure it was a little bit before KF really became a thing.

I think he has a tad more hair on the top his forehead, enough to be parted to the side.
Like 15% less bald, lol.
Too bald, that's Waingro from Heat.
eh?

What's also amazing that EA of all companies released Command and Conquer: Red Alert and other CnCs as open source just stating "yeah there are some dependencies that we cannot provide due to licensing, you can replace them if you wish to rebuild it".
ID Software was doing this for years as well. [Github]

Yet somehow it would be a bigger problem for indie devs according to Maldy. It's always the least skilled people who cry about sharing their work.

Ah, I remembered Metokur did a video on him and linked to KF with the sources, so i thought we tipped them off in that one. Before my time on the farms.

Good news, gang. Animus is almost 99% done again. He has been working on it every day for the last three years, but he hasn't been working on it because he's been dogpiled, but now he's working on it right now! Let me tell you what's going to happen after Animus which will never happen.
To the code monkeys in thread, answer me this. How hard is it for dialogue to be put into a game, assigned to a character?

I'm a mediocre writer, but I can't fucking imagine, what was it, taking 3 years to add dialogue and drawing pixels for a section of a game. That doesn't fucking make sense to me. I can understand rewrites and maybe changing the story a couple of times, and I can understand that there's "multiple routes" but I don't think it should take this fucking long.

deeply amusing that EA of all things has a better track record at doing some of what SKG wishes for and Mald rails against
the one company who frog boiled MTX lootboxes (in ME3 and later BF4,) had that god awful mobile Dungeon Keeper, and many more.
lmao

We hit 30k today, so it looks like we're going steady still.
Around 32k I think, whatever the case people continually engaging with the topic on youtube is certainly helping. It sometimes surprises me how small the internet can be, so there are still plenty of people who probably have yet to be exposed to SKG.

Only time will tell.

It shouldn't be that hard. The issue is Maldy does not know anything about programming so he has very little structure in what he is doing. Therefore it's probably excruciating task for him right now as all his code uses flat arrays and magic numbers.

If the dialogue is non consequential to the main story I don't think it would be hard to add, but if youre going to have a cutscene or whatever play you need to add triggers and other things of when to start things and end.

What i've read on here heart bound is very poorly coded and probably has lots of spaghetti code, and if he changes one thing or adds he has to then change whatever else is connected to that since he probably codes like a complete retard. I don't code myself but have a kind of general idea of how it works.

That's the problem with Maldy and people like him.

A lot of assumption here, but i'm going to guess he didn't get a lot of push back for his behaviour as a child, for whatever reason. This led to him just spouting off at the mouth and facing largely no repercussions. Fast forward to 10 months ago, and he pops off at the mouth with a clueless take, and assumes history will repeat itself and he won't face any real consequences for his actions.

Now he's locked in to this brain-dead viewpoint (if you can even call it a viewpoint) by way of crippling narcissism. I don't know a damn thing about coding, but even I know he's full of shit. Games used to facilitate self-hosting. I don't know if that was out of altruism, I think it had more to do with offsetting some of the workload to the consumer tbh (server hosting was more expensive in the early days of the internet afaik). With my ignorance, even I can tell that his "concerns" are just gas from a gas-bag.

So anytime someone parrots his talking points online, they're really outing themselves as a mindless faggot-shill.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Mald used to work at blizzard, my guy.

I was going off the end of day as dictated by the tracker:

I have to assume that's the actual time when the deadline hits, so you should probably use that as well.

I feel like the self hosting ease was both to offload costs as you said and because there were no real incentives to keep people on a dev's walled garden, but now with the modern gamer niggering that shits out constant content for cash, its against the best interests of a dev to give the power to the people

This guys entire experience at Blizzard just being QA explains literally everything about him: it explains why he's so arrogant, it explains why he's almost always wrong about the industry, it explains why he's such a corporate fanboy & most of all it explains why his own game is not only atrociously designed, but completely unfinished after an entire fucking decade. Doing 20 years of QA and claiming full game dev credentials is like being a janitor at the capital building and claiming to be a politician because you work at the same place.

And just let me be clear - there is nothing wrong with QA testing games, it's a very important job and a solid entry level position for aspiring devs... BUT, typically speaking, it's a REALLY short part of a good devs career. If you've spent more than 2-4 years in QA, I'm sorry to tell you, but it's likely that you're either not ambitious enough, creative enough or skilled enough to do anything else, that or someone higher up really fucking hates you.
