Sweet Baby Inc. and the Steam Curator Group Conspiracy - The company that is responsible for the diarrheic video game writing.

They were completely irrelevant examples to whatever you think you were proving.
My point was, Microsoft didn't care about PC during its first two Xbox generations.
In so far that they didn't even bother to port their own Xbox catalogue to PC. If it was so trivial as you claimed, they would have flanked it without hesitation.
And yes I'm aware, publishers don't code themselves, but they give assignments, pay the (port-)development upfront and handle the distribution.

Well, everyone who develops game software does. I heard far, far more positive things from devs about Microsoft tools & support in that era than about Sony. I'm not sure I heard anything positive at all about Sony.
The PS3 was a technical catastrophe and a needed humbling for Sony.
If the PS3 had dominated like the PS2 did, Cerny would have never course corrected the PS4 to be as developer friendly as possible. Familiar tech, a big unified memory pool, standardized APIs etc.

And yes, Microsoft documentation is mostly apt, one of the reasons their APIs dominated so long.
Not limited to gaming.

Nah. I just look at how many titles in the 360 era came to PC vs how many PS2 titles did.
Which was primarily because costs really ballooned in the 7th gen and every extra margin counted.
The reason exclusive PC gaming, besides some notable exceptions, died off and many PC genres like CRPG and RTS were put on the back seat.
But on the flip side also meant Console exclusives, except first party and Japan, got more exotic.

If Sony had remained the undisputed king of the console industry, PC gaming would look a lot different today, and not in a good way.
I agree on the market side, but not the technical.
An Xbox monopoly would have also crushed the pc market.
I would even wager without Valve the PC market would have crumbled regardless of a dominant console manufacturer.

I would also add the Dark Souls port out of a petition was a tremendous point in gaming history, as it showed Japan that PC can be immensely profitable.

Edge defaults to using Bing, which for the common user instantly makes it undesirable, and the typical user doesn't care about nerd shit. Edge is also, on first use, completely shitted up with MSN news and an Office 365 widget that does nothing but take you to links to subscribe to Office. The first thing your average Edge user does on their first experience is say, "What is this shit? I hate this!" and download Chrome.
This man is correct. Nerds have to remember that for most people the Internet is Google, Twitter, Facebook, Pornhub, and maybe a few other sites.

People actually trust Google as a big fancy tech company and so if they see Chrome when they search for something they go well golly gee it's a Google thing it must be good.

But you play as a black or mulato man in the first one, and it was okay because he kept his mouth shut and was simply a blank slate character that with no voice or personality beyond your actions in-game. This shows that it really isn't about skin colour, it can still be good, It's about thinly veiled empowerment/reparations bullshit.
The "mutt man" thing in the first game was retroactive. The protagonist was entirely silent and unseen in the first game -- no reflections in glass or water, self-portraits, security camera footage, etc., revealed what you looked like. They made no mention of your appearance or physical attributes beyond "humanoid," and even that was only really informed via the fact that all the facilities and gear are designed for humanoid users.

The devs had already ruffled some feathers by being a bit overzealous in explaining why there were no offensive weapons in the game (they're rabidly anti-gun), and while I forget what exactly triggered their sperging about skin color and sex, they pulled the usual "Get Mad and Run Mouth Without Thinking" gambit, joining the "gamers are racist chuds" crowd and posting promotional materials that revealed "lol you racists have been playing as a mutt all along!"

Then of course they went all-in for Below Zero, making the protag a YASSS SLAY QUEEN (and rubbing it in your face, along with the "lol still no guns, losers!" thing). Fuck 'em. Glad they got shitcanned.

Meanwhile, Subnautica 2 is also in trouble. The details are vague, burried in corpo speak, but it appears the team has been fired, or is at risk of being fired if they don't hurry up and get the game out already.

I was just about to say all of this. Most of the talent behind the original Subnautica is long gone, minus a few artists. The ones left are a bunch of woke, smug assholes.

The "No guns" thing is beyond stupid and hypocritical of the company itself because they also made Natural Selection 2, a PvP humans vs Aliens game absolutely packed with guns and supposedly in the same universe as Subnautica.

They absolutely burned whatever goodwill their community had by defending their obnoxious, never-shuts-up protagonist in BZ, spoiling all the mystery the first game built, and deciding to move Subnautica 2 to a different planet for some stupid reason.

The devs have no fucking idea what made the original game good, as Below Zero proved, plus shoving niggers in everyone's faces constantly is doing them no favors.

I bet they've wasted a massive percentage of the budget on some retarded nigger sow and hammering in to the player how superior she is compared to them.
Below Zero really showed that Subnautica was basically just a massive fluke.

The only thing you need to know about Unknown Worlds to realise it was headed by actual retards was how they looked at the first game's success, saw all the praise it received for it's atmosphere, world design, mild but competent horror, and [literal] depth, and then decided that what the people really wanted was a [literally] shallow, "narrative" focused experience, featuring two poorly written retards trying to out girlboss each other, where half the actual gameplay takes place on land in a game called fucking 'Subnautica'. And this all happened before they were acquired so they literally have no excuse.

And your hunch that they've fucked themselves pushing for progressive nonsense might well be closer to reality than we realise as they do have a history of kneecapping themselves for political good boy points. If I remember correctly they actually fired the head audio designer for the first game after they found old tweets of his from the Gamergate days which basically amounted to him saying it wasn't that big of a deal.
Which if you've played the first game you'll know why that was a really big mistake, as the audio in Subnautica carries almost the entire atmosphere.

I'll probably get some eye-rolls from the gallery but this makes me think back to the Yuri Bezmenov interviews about old-school Soviet efforts to "demoralize" the west (in the sense of "deleting morality," not "making everybody too sad to try"), where people like these become "useful idiots" and sadly are themselves irredeemably broken once the process has done its foul work. He said that no matter how much hard, conclusive evidence you put in front of one of these demoralized people disproving their belief system, they will reject it reflexively and it will never reach them. And by god, much as I hate admitting it, he was absolutely right.

I bring it up because what we're seeing now -- the devs being fired/removed by a natural societal immune response (that's been slow to respond but is finally waking up and acting with a vengeance) but learning no (valuable) lessons from the experience -- is the best case scenario we can ever hope to achieve. You can't fix people like this. They're gone. That's sad for anyone (myself included) with a lingering hope that everyone is innately "redeemable" somehow, being confronted with conclusive proof that no, some really are gone, and the best we can do is contain them, minimize new damage they can cause and go back to repair what they've already damaged.

They will stay in their self-imposed exile (they're becoming less and less hirable as even the most woke of companies are realizing that -- if nothing else -- they just can't afford to keep funding woketards producing failure after failure) and believe they were always right and it's the entire world outside their bubble that's wrong and unfixable.

It's such a waste of human potential. It leaves me with a sense of pie-in-the-sky, wistful "god dammit we could be on Mars right now if we didn't waste so much effort on this bullshit" thinking.

Meh. That or they're just assholes getting fired for failing to produce entertainment products instead of propaganda (and sucking at that part too).

I wish companies would stop abusing the Visa process to get cheap labor. Just scrap the entire program and deport the visa holders.
I'd say limit it to it's purported purpose of filling gaps where there's for some reason a shortage of some particular skill, but I have yet to see a single identifiable skill that does not exist in surplus among American citizens. It's just the jeet version of migrant illegals in agriculture.

They are hiring jeets, often with utterly bogus academic credentials and no real skills, to bungle work that Americans could do perfectly well, because they hate America and don't want to pay Americans.
Edge defaults to using Bing, which for the common user instantly makes it undesirable, and the typical user doesn't care about nerd shit.
Google's quality gap over Bing has largely evaporated and Google routinely spits out absolute garbage as search results.

Even "Advanced" search is completely broken and routinely spits out trash that doesn't even have your search terms in it, even when you tell it not to.

This is what happens when you fire the white males who made shit work and hire a bunch of mentally ill cock chopped troon freaks like Liz Fong-Jones and jeet up the place with street shitters on bogus visas.

Hell, it's bloody trivial to do it now since you can just recompile Xbox 360 games due to Unleashed Recompiled.

The PS3 was a technical catastrophe and a needed humbling for Sony.
I remember when that gen started that many were comparing the PS3 to the Saturn because that one was also an overengineered console with a weaker GPU than the competition but sony managed to turn it around and sold more units (87mil PS3 vs 84mil X360). Of course this is a far cry from the massive advantage that the PS2 had, outselling all other 3 consoles (GC, Xbox, Dreamcast) combined. But still sony won, and as for why they went x86 with the PS4 my guess is less about being dev friendly and more about cost, that CELL thing was a failure, sony lost almost $2 billion thinking they could sell it, turns out nobody liked it. That's also why the Xbone went x86, OTS parts are always cheaper than custom chips.

The downside is that all consoles are little more than repackaged PCs, and the switch a repackaged tablet as it uses an existing nvidia SoC.

Nah I'm tired about people who not only fucks up but fucks things up for everybody getting a second chance. Remember anthony burch? he still gets work, still gets hired, most of these fuckers have no reason to change.

Ever noticed that any company with some gay ass name like "Sweet Baby" is always ontologically evil?
Sure, it's because they know they're setting up a business to do some shit that people won't like, and give themselves some gay ass "innocent" sounding name to try and obfuscate that.

It's not like they'd name it "we'll bankrupt your studio and ruin your games, inc."

I don't know nothing about how game is formed, but I understand tax write offs. Maybe that's what billy's doing?

Thus the easiest route in 6th gen was to lead with 360 development, then port to PS3 and PC.
Which is how we got absolute masterpieces like the Bayonetta PS3 port that needed loading screens just to pause the game.
Most of the talent behind the original Subnautica is long gone,
Thanks for letting me know, now I'm even less interested in the sequel than I was before.

I think it's more that jeets, like Mexicans, are a lot more subservient and willing to work in shit conditions for worse pay. Plus they can't ever complain because if they do their H1B Visa gets revoked or they get turned over to ICE.

We've somehow found a way to create progressive slavery.

Neither the PS4 nor the XB1 had commodity CPUs in them. They both used similar custom APUs from AMD. Sony and Microsoft dumped IBM for the next generation because IBM did a heel turn on them, while AMD offered them a good deal. It was about business, not technology.

Niggers and water, the jokes writes themselves. This is not black.

Is it possible that they made him more brown with a patch, first pic is from the steam game site.

Reminder race is much more than just skin color, niggers are way to dumb to built submarines.

maybe to certain degree, but the time for custom chips that need their own pipeline and "specialist" devs was over.

Power CPUs don't need specialist devs or an exotic pipeline. They need a C++ compiler and all that other good stuff. Programming for the Gamecube/Wii/Wii u, PowerMac, and Xbox 360 was not hard and didn't need some kind of guru. MS and Sony were all ready to go another round with IBM because they were quite happy with how things had turned out the previous generation, and then IBM fucked them. So they went to AMD.
