Developers have showed multiple times in stream and mentioned in Q&A that they have the binaries to localhost in your very own computer, the game servers without needing AWS... also Squadron 42 (their campaing) petty much reuses most of their code into a non networked enviroment, having the same results... So they can kinda (in their infinite scope creeping) make their MMO work offline after end of service any day.

It's funny because literally no one has said that these companies should be forced to open source their software. Until now, I say they should be forced to open source their software, it should be illegal to publish software without making the source code available. Imagine how much better software would be if you could bully people for making shit like Heartboound.
