I don't know, the buckethead scenes might have been "too scary" for the youngins, plus people complaining about only Spongebob, Patrick, and Plankton getting anything to do.

I dabble from time to time with an anime that catches my interest but it seems like the vast majority of it is unironically garbage and not worth shifting through.

I tried to watch that Jobless Reincarnation thing yesterday and the first episode has him talking about how much he loves to suck on his own mother's tits, and the second has him jacking off. Then he finds one of the female characters sitting in the hallway listening to her parents fuck and schlicking.

This show has been renewed twice so far.

Anime is indeed cringe and gay so it takes a lot of goodwill to get me to put up with one.

People are complaining about the three central characters of the movie moving the plot forward? Are the people complaining actual fans, or are they on youtube thinking that if they whine enough like the Nostalgia Critic, they too might have a mediocre YT Career?

Personally, I do kind of agree that Squidward got kind of shafted and it should have been Sandy to question Plankton's schemes (Far more in character for her to do so), but that doesn't mean we should just completely bury the original movie, which is still a timeless classic.

I don't know it seems about the same on average. The average anime is an Isekai power fantasy slop with terrible writing but it tries to make you horny. The average cartoon is ugly western homo slop that tries to make you say dumb shit on Twitter. Western cartoons are 'worse' overall maybe but Japanese anime is arguably just as low-effort and badly written. The vast majority of it isn't even particularly well animated.

Every once and a while the best floats to the top and is worth watching.

I didn't think it was completely out of character for Squidward to notice and go "wut" at what he was seeing, think him getting promoted as a manager gave him a bigger head and felt like he could start exercising his power by confronting essentially a fellow competitor.

Remember that he listens to public radio, like the smarmy smartass he thinks he is.

I Agree with @Kari Kamiya on Squidward. Regarding Sandy, there is nothing more “problematic” then replacing the scene Squidward was in with Sandy. The moment she does question things, and get’s taken down, it’s 50 think piece videos and articles Titled: “Should Sandy have been the Main Character of the movie?” “Why did they Sideline Sandy So hard?” “Do the writers on Spongebob hate women?” I know it sounds stupid, but you know that’s exactly what would have happened.

I remember the SpongeBob Movie 2 getting praise from reviewers like PIEGUYRULZ because unlike the first they made full use of the SpongeBob cast. Them not having Sandy and Squidward, probably also Krabs, being part of the adventure didn't sit well with people. The film was initially planned as the final to SpongeBob, and seeing it through that lens, it would have been terrible in that regard.

Personally, I think that Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward come off as a perfect trio and Sandy is more of an inquisitive person anyways.
