It wouldn't shock me if they only did the most cursory check for someone they were hiring for a generic QA position.
It's unlikely that they didn't know who he was. Earlier in the thread, someone pointed out he is credited as Additional Testing in World of Warcraft's manual. World of Warcraft released in 2004. That was almost 21 years ago. Mald is 37 (or is it 38 now?) years old. He was 16 or 17 years old at the time. I doubt Blizzard hired people under 18, so this testing must have been arranged via Joeyray, or perhaps he was part of the Friends and Family Alpha of World of Warcraft. I think it's fair to assume whoever signed off on the credits knew about him. So he wasn't entirely unknown to the organization.

Though it's hard to estimate how widely it would be known. Post-WoW, Blizzard was much bigger, and I find it completely plausible that a particular manager would have no idea.

So, you have to save your talking dog and kill the monster that you assume was responsible for kidnapping him, but oh noes, it turns out the dog IS the monster! You can kill the monster or you can purposefully fail the final attack to spare it, but it doesn't matter because in the end it gets split into 3 pieces by a sentient book and each piece gets sent to a different realm.
Uhhh, if this whole game is just mald projecting, is mald painting his dog as the bad guy? But for what though? Turning him into a furry? But the dog died...did mald molest it to death? There was that screenshot of mald saying how brown colored huskies turns him on...right?

I think the manager he refers to in his defense is more like his coordinator who directs him in what to test, but isn't his actual boss that has direct oversight over his hiring process and his job security. It's likely the non-nepobaby QA's, being the entry position, never actually meet their boss face to face.

He was an intern

What a retarded bald fat faggot. Way too charitable to this junk.
Still nice to have more people pissing on mald but it's bizarre to gloss over so much shit and somehow be glazing that the combat is interesting.

thats the thing with content creators.
theres people who dive head in to shit on someone
then theres people who are apprehensive to shit on someone and sit on the fence thats shoved directly into their anus, and force goatseing themselves.
then theres people who are more charitable in hopes for future collaboration or perhaps even find a way to benefit off defending Jason. I mean dude's dad was an OG Blizzard dev so a bit of Blizzard stans would defend him.
and then theres the worst kinds of people, the contrarians.

I mean Asmongold is a different example aswell.
He defends Thor during the Onlyfangs shit,
he tries to be charitable on the whole StopKillingGames thing by saying "I dont think he's actively trying to misled people by being malicious" but seeing as how everyone is dogpiling harder, and his community is also turning on Thor alot, and also his own editors, he still doesnt call Thor out directly, but laugh along with everyone.

I'm not sure why but I can't take any joy from watching this guy nose dive his career. His issues and faults seem so small compared to someone like Hasan Piker or Destiny who deserve to fail so much harder. Don't get me wrong he's a piece of shit and i'm glad he's not in my life. It's just odd watching some one throw it all away because they cant admit to being anything less than perfect all the time.
It's pretty much the key element of any lolcow in Internet Famous: ego. I think the reason it sucks to watch him nosedive is because it's such an easy thing to resolve, but for most of the lolcows featured in internet famous but also extending to others like DSP, is they simply cannot. Throughout all of the controversies Jason has not once said "I fucked up" and it's why he will never change. He refuses to be humbled by the big bad "internet hate machine" even when he's dead wrong.

At 420 days, Jason is the 6th fastest individual cow to hit 1000 pages
Very informative thank you. While I didn't expect him to be #1 at all, #6 (or 8 depending on how you count) is STILL top 10 thread velocity. Thor is WELL on his way to winning julays.

I think its worth noting too, MUCH of this growth was in 2025, I think had his OP only of been created THIS YEAR, he would be several ranks higher, possibly 3rd place? Seriously page 500 was in june this year, so its actually almost a coincidence he isn't higher

Also ironically enough, SKG succeeding would literally be BEST for him right now. Its kinda like schrodingers hate, as bad as the hate for him RIGHT NOW is, if SKG didn't get enough signatures, I am almost certain someone would A-log him over it.

If it succeeds, hes just a douchebag of history, but mostly harmless. if it somehow fails, he made his face the opposition, and every disappointed gamer would know this. If I were him, I'd unironically support this last minute just to save my own skin, and encourage my own followers to do it, just because I think admitting fault is far better than being the VILLAIN of gaming.

Maldaddy actually spoke fondly of mald later in the stream and said he wouldn't bring up things like him forgetting his birthday unless he thought it was funny. He also refuted the nepotism stuff saying that he only helped him improve his resume, and nobody knew they were related for 2 years.
Absolute horseshit. He's just covering for him. They'd 100% know he interned before and known why he applied originally. He's just covering for him because he's seen "nepo baby" brought up about his son to undermine his shitty Gamemaker game.

To be fair to Jason's father, this is what he should do. If your son is being bullied by internet strangers it's the right thing to stretch the truth to help him out. However Jason got himself into this situation and is too narcissistic to get himself out of it.

Even in the imaginary scenario where Jason manages to convince everyone he wasn't a nepobaby, his dev skills are too mediocre to entertain the green code hackerman larp.
He can award himself the social engineering title but everyone knows that has nothing to do with code at all.
It's just a noticeable trend that the obnoxious nepobaby tends to also be incompetent and widely disliked.
There are plenty of nepobabies who thank their parents for their connections and move on with their carrer.
Jason's just a whiny faggot who can't even say happy birthday to his own father.
