In this case Gamergate 2 lacks something proper to rally around. For some its been elevated to something far more than just a chance to yell at stupid feminists but rather its become romanticized vision of gamers rising from their chairs like ancient Ents to out of nowhere force a major change on society. Laughing at these Australian feminists is cathartic, but it would be a waste of a Gamergate-like campaign. The recent conservative efforts to reign in debanking and payment processors do not actually address the real problem so that is a wasted Gamergate moment as well. The federal government has concerns about VISA/Mastercard being monopolies but how do you rally around that?

And so we sit waiting for the moment, bickering over nonsense instead of making change.

According to whom? Pharma companies regularly eat multi-million dollar lawsuits as a regular course of business and they have vastly less power, influence, and spare monetary resources than the entities you're speaking about here.
