The Glocks are Gen 5 G19s in 9mm.I believe they also use .40 Short and Wimpy instead of 9mm NATO.

Needs more context since you don't have any concrete info, like the year you saw it.My grandpa had this old ass rifle when I was a kid, It was ancient, probably older than him judging by the design since the way it was loaded (I think at least, I'm not too sure) was that you would open the barrel like a double barrel shotgun and load in one round at a time, maybe a 1900's Mauser?
Even a well tuned and built 1911 is not going to reach Glock levels of reliability because of the latter's tolerance to abuse or neglect and parts longevity. I love my Colt, AF, Dan Wesson, but they're probably going to get left hidden in a cache as excess weight if SHTF.That's being a bit disingenuous. There are plenty of lower priced 1911s than run just as reliably as a GLOCK. The US military issued them for nearly 80 years because they worked, and worked well. Typically when you're paying a higher price for a 1911 it's for higher grade features, like better sights, better build quality/tighter tolerances, better quality parts, etc. But any military style 1911 from a reputable manufacturer should run just fine, you're just not going to get the fancy stuff like more modern sights, extended safety, mag well funnel, etc.
A lot of big game rifles have actions like that. They're also available in smaller calibers like 30-30, 30-06, 45-70, and plenty of others. They're fairly common and still in production, they were one of the the options you could use for primitive hunting season here for a long time, you had to use a bow, muzzle loader, lever action or single shot straight wall, or if you wanted to use bottleneck cartridges break actions in any caliber were allowedMy grandpa had this old ass rifle when I was a kid, It was ancient, probably older than him judging by the design since the way it was loaded (I think at least, I'm not too sure) was that you would open the barrel like a double barrel shotgun and load in one round at a time, maybe a 1900's Mauser?
Is this a single shot break open rifle or an actual double barreled break open rifle? Mauser didn't make any rifles like that, that I'm aware of. Some gunsmith could have made their own gun with Mauser parts though. My grandpa had this old ass rifle when I was a kid, It was ancient, probably older than him judging by the design since the way it was loaded (I think at least, I'm not too sure) was that you would open the barrel like a double barrel shotgun and load in one round at a time, maybe a 1900's Mauser?

When you mention loading it like a double barrel, do you mean opening it so the barrel hangs?

Because a Mauser rifle just requires pulling the bolt back to load.

Break open actions are still around since they're so simple, but they're relatively niche since they're not as convenient as even a bolt action much less a semi-auto.

I think at worst they'll issue a revised part or set of parts and the military will put them back in service. They might not last as long in service as the Berettas but they aren't going to get booted so soon. The military is good for some sunk cost reasoning.Do you think they’ll surplus the P320s or are they getting the steam roller treatment?
It might be something new. There are a few states that classify single shot rifles as primitive weapons so you can use them during black powder season. If it doesn’t have any markings it’s likely not a new US build. It was a break open action, now that it's been mentioned it might've been a more modern hunting rifle since I just associated break-action rifle with being old. As for the caliber, I never saw it get loaded but the barrel couldn't have been that big, no bigger (maybe even smaller) than the barrels of those Remington hunting rifles and I never knew my grandpa to be the hunting type. At this point, I would assume it might've been a locally manufactured model without any branding, if any gunautists in the thread wanna have a gander at trying to find the model I'd start with English companies like Enfield.
They make a fine pistol for killing dissidents at contact distance, but outside of that, pure eurotrash. The M1A is garbage.Don't you dare compare HS Produkt to some random out of spec shit Indian/Chinese shit.

Say that again to my face, I dare you.
I'm pretty sure all of the HS "springfields" have HS Produkt Croatia stamped on their slides molded into the frames.I prefer my eurotrash handguns to be stamped with their actual manufacturing company.
CZ doesn't have other companies stamp their name on their guns to sell them in the US.I'm pretty sure all of the HS "springfields" have HS Produkt Croatia stamped on their slides molded into the frames.

>take joe from the infantryYou’re kidding. That’s lazy even for the fucking army. I can’t wait until that comes back to bite them in the ass when we end up with more dead men who couldn’t aim for shit versus Muhammad with a rusted out AKM and iron sights.
I don't understand what your point is here. Are you just sperging about a company that makes relatively cheap guns like when people sperg about low hanging fruit like hi-point or lel-tek? Or are you just a CZ fanboy? If it's the latter I won't let you people forget the CZ100 which is probably worse than anything hi-point or kel tek ever made.CZ doesn't have other companies stamp their name on their guns to sell them in the US.
Of course, the CZ75 is one of the best SA/DA ever made. HS Produkt has made nothing of that caliber, ever.
