Trump has now axed a Carter-era consent decree that forbade the federal gov't from testing applicants because too many diverse minorities were failing. (Archive) This consent decree was so manifestly retarded that not even the taconigger who sued to get it installed in the first place, Angel Luevano, can object to keep it from being taken down.
The named party in the case, Angel Luevano, is still alive, and when approached about agreeing to end the consent decree, he readily agreed.

Of course they did, they got theirs and don't need it anymore. Standard boomer behavior.

The public should not be funding media corporations where the public doesn't have much of a say over what that corporation produces.
exactly Even if it was a conservative news network, I don't think it should be government funded. It just so happens that PBS and NPR have a very obvious liberal bias, meaning conservatives who disagree are forced to fund it. The era of Mr. Rodgers's PBS is over.
Who the fuck watch’s TV, let alone PBS? “Booo hoo the shows I never watched filled with lib faggots complaining about Trump and mean words got canceled boo hooo”
According to NPR and PBS, and their totally not inflated numbers. PBS reaches hundreds of millions of viewers, especially rural farmers. But I'm calling BS on those numbers anecdotally; even my liberal grandparents would rather watch MSNBC or CNN. I think the only people that watch PBS are the liberal public school teachers who bitch about the funding cuts on TV, hate watchers, and people who disagree with PBS's political views but want to watch a documentary from the other side. I would include myself in this camp, and the rest of the people that watch PBS are PBS Kids viewers or people that can't afford cable TV that could all be served by watching YouTube.

So basically nothing of value will be lost by cutting their funding. Most of the Twitter users complaining probably don't even watch PBS.
Traditional TV is on its way out like it or not, viewership is continuing to go down, its a shame PBS had to go (whether you agree with its politics or not) but I can't say I'm surprised.
While the death of traditional TV is sad, it's been more of a suicide than a natural death. TV is not only competing with streaming and social media, but instead of lowering their prices or making a quality service to compete with streaming, they keep getting more and more greedy and raising the prices. Along with that, TV is filled with ads. For example, I was at a hotel, and while I liked the channels they gave me, that TV service, which didn't even include sports channels, would most likely cost me 50 bucks a month. That is more than most streaming services combined, and that comes with ad breaks every 20 minutes or so. This is an absolutely absurd business strategy to use, especially when TV no longer has the monopoly it once did.

What makes this worse is TVs high prices are running off their remaining customers. I was talking with one of my boomer family members recently, and he was upset that he had to pay 70 dollars a month to watch sports programs along with the weather. That's before you get into TV blackouts. For example, I don't think my dad was able to see certain out-of-state MLB games with his expensive sports cable package because of blackouts. When you combine this with just about every regular TV program being available on streaming the next day and news programs moving to YouTube and social media, is it any wonder why TV is dying? And I say this as someone who grew up watching TV and enjoys many TV programs. TV has committed a slow and painful suicide by pricing out their remaining customers and not adapting to the modern market.
I like this new Hulk Hogan more then the old one. Way more calm and rational.
I'm more calm and rational, brother, and that's a fact, Jack.
What's funny is my highschool actually did touch on the noble savage myth...and then proceeded to exactly teach Native American history that way....I guess mentioning it is better than nothing I suppose.
I have gone to museums dedicated to Native American history, and their teaching basically amounts to the noble savage myths: the poor Indians lived in America, then the evil white people killed them. The end. This view of history sucks because not only does it make all white people out to be evil, but it also actively ignores all the cool Native American history, like the tribal warfare and the fact that all Native Americans were not a hivemind and, in fact, fought and disagreed with each other.
Fake numbers is literally all they produce, it was no different under Biden, that's government for ya.
Exactly, all the job numbers are fake. nonsense used exclusively for propaganda purposes, and this goes for both sides of the aisle. That being said, we all know the real reason Trump fired this Biden chick was because she didn't give him positive numbers. Do you think he would have fired her if she showed massive job growth? probably not
Of course they are. Who thought otherwise? Benny Johnson needs to fucking stop. He's becoming the new Alex Jones and quickly.
Benny Johnson makes MAGA slop TikToks I enjoy watching; leave him alone.
The McCloskey's were rich white folks living in a gated community. Of course they were fucking Democrat, you dipshit. Everyone in their neighborhood is. They probably voted and donated to Democrat causes all their lives believing that being Democrat was just the right thing to do. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. However, the real question is if they still donate to Democrat causes. I bet they don't. On top of that, I bet several other residents in their community don't donate anymore either.
The Mcloskeys are relics of the Clinton-era Democrats, back when being a Democrat meant being a rich white guy who was fine with helping poor people. Now most of those Democrats have either become Trump supporters or held their noses and voted for the increasingly radical Democratic Party that left them behind and bailed out the rioters who invaded their neighborhoods. I know the Mcloskeys spoke at the RNC, but I'm not sure if they are Trump supporters now or not.
Remember the Empire pulled off Order 66 so well that there are many who don't even think the Jedi were real.
I think Benjamin Netanyahu was inspired by Order 66 lmao
All this talk about Star Wars means it must be a really slow news day.
:story:
Yeah, it's the same few stories: Trump's wax-on, wax-off tariffs and the ongoing Epstein cover-up. Nothing new to talk about, lol.
There's nothing left to talk about when it comes to Harry Potter at this point besides hypothesizing.

Shit has been over for over a decade.
I think it would be hilarious if a group of trannies and their Christian fundamentalist family members got together and had a disco demolition-style book burning of Harry Potter books and DVDs. That would give us something to talk about.
Trump needs to fire literally everyone who was ever even involved in an administration prior to this one, including his first admin.
All these fucks need to go.
I agree he should fire everyone, but instead of replacing them with Trump loyalists, he should do away with most government departments entirely. For example, instead of firing Jerome Powell and replacing him, he should abolish the Fed and go back to the gold standard.
There's one big problem with that. ID verification on YouTube August 13th. Is that covering age gate videos or is it covering EVERY one? We may need to boycott it for a few months
YouTube is terrible. I agree. As for the ID verification, I'm not sure if it will be required on kid-friendly videos, but if that's the case and the PBS website shuts down, I might have to go to the liberal cat lady compound to see where they store PBS recordings.

I'm glad Trump is destroying Jimmy Carter's legacy.
The great thing about Gerrymandering is that both parties do it
Exactly. Gerrymandering is a competition between who can cheat the most effectively. I think gerrymandering shouldn't be a thing, but I don't trust the Democrats not to use the anti-gerrymandering movement to rig the elections for themselves. We would need a truly nonpartisan, unbiased commission to determine the districts, but I think that would be hard to find.
These niggers can't fathom ANY benefit to cutting government expenditures because to them, it is literally free money that comes out of thin air and does nothing but benefit them. Warms my heart to see them melting down over this. Get a fucking job and the benefits become obvious.
Exactly, these Democrat people think everything is free, so Republicans are dumb people who shoot themselves in the foot by hating their free stuff, when in reality working people pay high taxes so welfare queens can sit on their asses and eat food stamp-subsidized Doritos. Our country would benefit massively if workers could keep their hard-earned money in their pockets and these people had to work for their food, but instead these people don't work; they get to be parasites on the taxpayer.

I wonder: Why do Americans hate the media? Was it caused by the constant lies, morally vapid talking points, or the obnoxious faggots screeching into the mic? It’s truly a mystery to these people.
In the next few years, you’ll definitely see progressives who will unironically defend neocons.

US officials open investigation into former special counsel Jack Smith:

Mor like Jack off smith lol

i find it ironic that the Indian tribes love the sports mascots as they always picture a heroic warrior figure yet shitlibs think these are offensive.

i wonder how actual american indians feel about 'redskins' style brands or general 'cowboys and indians' media tropes

from what i can tell these things usually portray indians in a pretty positive light, like 'honorable noble savages' style but with a big emphasis on the 'noble' part while minimizing the 'savages' part

I mean, there were progressives praising Dick Cheney during the 2024 election; just because the Cheney family supported Kamala.

For me, that was the moment I finally accepted that liberalism/progressivism isn't just a different perspective or life circumstances. It's pure braindeath, retardation, and submission to authority. I have no fucking clue how else that the people who spent a decade entirely reshaping popular culture to be centered around being anti-Bush and anti-war, condemning Cheney to being worse than Hitler, worse than Satan; then flipflop on it over a minor political endorsement. There's no logic to it, purely a synaptic reflex, no different than a flower turning to face the sun. It is unfortunate, in this circumstance, that the flowers can and do vote.

Flowers are way better than libshits, they are actually productive. 🌻❤️

They have for almost a decade.

You aren't wrong at all there, but AOC saying nice things about a dead dude isn't really a smoking gun. McCain first and foremost was a stooge that would suck any dick he could if it would mean he would get young men shipped off to some distant land.
