It's going to be converted into a HK33K and I already have all the paddle mag hardware and barrel. Just waiting on free tax stamps in Jan to send it to my gun smith. I was told that the KAC airsoft HK rails were pretty legit so I wanna try my hand at one of those too.

I don't have a choice, I have a couple bins worth of parts sitting at my friends just waiting on free stamps. Have an old police magnum that yerns to be a stakeout but i couldn't justify the 200 tax stamp on a 600 dollar shotgun.

its a belgian made 6 barrel pepper box with a in built triangular bayonet and Ivory grips. nicely engraved action as well. Pepperbox revolvers are pretty cool, and there are so many variations out there that someone could make a career out of documenting just this type of firearm and never run out of new guns to look at.

It occurred to me today that free-float hand guards make BUIS worse. That is, the end of a free float hand guard, towards the muzzle end, can become canted and off center, dramatically shifting BUIS zero. Looking at my own AR with a free float hand guard, I do notice it is slightly canted towards the left, and this is causing my rear sight aperture to be maxed out to the left.

I'd either need a new barrel with a gas block front sight to fix this. I guess this means it's back to relying solely on my Aimpoint PRO red dot.

Am I gonna be KITS if I don't have BUIS? Red dots aren't the foamy diarrhea quality they were 20 years ago, but still, it's an electronic and fragile device.

For a home defense bump in the night gun i don't think it matters. For a war rifle it absolutely should have a front sight post.

Apologies if this is a retarded idea, I’m completely new to this but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

I’m pretty busy atm and I work late, so I don’t know how much time I can spend at a range, but I thought about getting a CO2 gun and use it to practice in my yard until I’m freed up. I know it would be the same at all but it seems better than nothing and would be okay to start practicing. I just feel stupid and like Jayce for asking but whatever.

I don't think that would be all that useful as practice for real shooting. Most air pistols have a different manual of arms compared to the real counterpart. Also, as far as I'm aware, the accuracy on CO2 pistols are not good enough to give you useful information. But its better than nothing and might be fun. If your hurting for time I would suggest you find a range (preferably outdoor) that sells a day pass so you can spend a whole day there. Personaly, I prefer one big range day a month as opposed to a bunch of smaller trips.

The Bergara B14 is extremely nice and quite affordable. Ruger Precision is actually a really nice rifle too. I don't know how different they are between the different configurations for each caliber they offer, I shot the 6.5 Creedmoor version a couple of times.

I have also heard the CZ550 is good but I haven't actually touched one.



If you want to spend $0-5, you can get a snapcap (or don't) and practice dry firing in your house. Do not underestimate how useful dry firing is.

If you wanna spend some coin, you can get a Mantis and practice with that. I've looked at getting one and its pretty expensive but it does have a lot of guided training on it.

Airsoft has its place for training but not here, I think.

While doing very little for learning recoil control (even with the expensive advanced gas blowback models) we have an entire documentary showing us that extensive airsoft weapons manipulation drills allowed a Japanese guy to shoot better than 80% of "Gun Guys" within a few hours of first touching a real gun

Also I forget the guy's name but there was another Japanese guy in the early 2000's who came in 5th at the Steel Challenge Nationals after only shooting real guns for a month.

So it's safe to say that any form of weapons manipulation whether with real guns or substitute trainers aids in cultivating skill.

WIP Integrally suppressed Dark Mountain Arms 9mm

Video showcases a top mounted magazine feed conversion for the Ameli LMG. The Ameli is a neat little gun in concept, not bad aesthetically, barrels look a little thin to me but the real problem is the gun is held together by one (1) little clamp thing which in itself is held together by two screws.

I'd probably just buy a whole new barrel or upper. I'd make sure the barrel/upper you get has a pinned FSP and not a clamp-on one. IDK if it matters but a pinned on FSP just seems more secure to me.

Get a hand-guard with anti rotation tabs or an anti rotation pin. Mil dudes have been running free floats with BUIS for a while and never had issues.

Nah aimpoint is a pretty good brand and the stock mount is solid.

Can anyone tell me how the PKM can be fed via starter tabs when the bolt is forwards? I know the pully things have a little bit of flex to them by design but one would be at a significant disadvantage when doing so making it even harder to do.

Thank you for posting this on the MATI podcast. Between Charlie Kirk, the Ukrainian woman and a guy tying up an elderly couple, stabbing them to death and then lighting them on fire near where I live, I've finally decided that I need to get a gun. I just need to decide what my first purchase will be.

Holy shit that murder then arson crime made it to a podcast I listen to weekly.....the host mentioned that it was a "nice area" too....

The smallest gun that I am willing to deal with is a Smith and Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 in 380 ACP, it has a large enough grip to use almost two fingers on, for recoil control. Other guns like the Ruger LCP are too small and recoil too harshly. However the cartridge is weak and these pistols aren't as durable as duty pistols in 9mm Luger

Even then it's small and light and isn't as pleasant to shoot as some say.

I'll get one and probably snuggle a squishy rubber grip sleeve on it


Now Gun nuts of the farms, I FINALLY have the room in my garage for a gun safe (yeah it's really a RSC, I can't drop $5k+ on a "real safe")

I was taking a look at some of the HK21 kits online but I don't know if I can justify spending $1500+ for a kit, especially when my living expenses are not getting any smaller. It's moments like this that make me realize that I need to just be happy with what I already have.

This activity consumes too much money these days as it is, I started on a Mosin for $140 and I still probably paid too much for it at the time.

And even if that's all I had, 54R might be harder to source now than in the past, but the usual spam can sources seemed to be drying up since well before the "special military operation" began.

I owned an EPS carry(sold the gun it was on). It's a good option if you put a few hundreds rounds on it and mess around with it to make sure you didn't lose the Holosun lottery. Also suggest looking into MOS vs optics cut and if you want a rail for a light. I have seen a factory railed 43x w/o MOS at a LGS, but they're rare.
