Because Bob's incapable of liking something regardless of his opinions towards it's fans. (See also: Breaking Bad, Dark Souls.) Ironically enough IIRC, he's a Steven Universe fan, so now it's another layer of hypocrisy of the parfait of failure that is Bob.

Being the weird contrarian he is, what do you suppose Bob's opinions on the controversy about Cyborg being in the Justice League instead of Martian Manhunter as the suits have openly admitted that it helps publicity to have a token black? It's weird since Manhunter is a shapeshifter who could be played by anyone of any race and if you're going to argue that doesn't count, the JLA is pretty diverse to begin with as only 3 of the original 7 are truly "white guys". An unironic "Get fucked, nerds" while hurling insults that apply to himself?

If you're going to ask about John Stewart as the Green Lantern like in the cartoon, that was suggested but the higher ups also demanded the team in the comics have a line-up like the DCEU's and were going to carve up the comics so Stewart was the only Lantern from Earth ever. Cyborg replacing MM was a compromise. Not that it matters much now as the Green Lantern movie flopped and they decided to make Man of Steel the real start to the DCEU.

On top of that J'onn J'onnz or however you spell it usually IS a black man when he's incognito. They could've cast a black man to play Martian Manhunter anyways and no one would've complained. I'm betting some suits were concerned about following in Marvel's footsteps by having a green character played by a black person in their movies, and another group figured Cyborg had name recognition due to the success of the Teen Titans cartoon in the mid 2000's. That's why we get Cyborg instead of Martian Manhunter.

Ideally they should've went with Vixen if you need "tokens" to please the suits. She's liked by fans, has history with the team, adds another woman, and you would've made Marvel push back the idea of adding Black Panther putting them in a corner. Only issue is name recognition but it's the "make the most people happy" option.

He may have joined the REEEEEing of Aquaman's portrayal (the supposed stereotype of showing a Pacific Islander who drinks).
I'm aware that WB wants to bring back the Green Lanturn Corps to the DCEU as a film is in the works and Steppenwolf name-dropped in the ComicCon trailer. I guess it all depends on how Justice League does.
