It's because he's too close to the subject matter.I can't help but feel he kinda missed the point on that one.
All of his opinions about TGWTG are seen through a lens of his jealousy

I can summarize that video in one line, "God I wish I had his popularity and money!"I can't help but feel he kinda missed the point on that one.
Indeed.I can summarize that video in one line, "God I wish I had his popularity and money!"
It's literally nitpicking some really stupid shit. Yes, Doug is doing this for the money. Why else would anybody do that as a job? Why else does anybody work? It's incredibly rare to find people who genuinely love their work. I don't mean "don't hate it". No I mean love and they'd continue to do it even if they were getting paid less.
Simple shorthand: anyone on the Internet who makes a video complaining about someone selling out is frustrated that no one is buying what they're selling.Indeed.
Has Doug rebooted the Nostalgia Critic because he genuinely felt he had more to say about it?
Or was it because nobody cared about his lame pet project Demo Reel and the website lost traffic?
I've seen and even chatted with some Youtubers who said they do their videos because they "are passionate", are not "interested by the views or money", don't want to "sell out" and want to "stay genuine".
Those same Youtubers also proved to be quite exceptional, insecure, hypocritical, whiny and having an oversized ego.
Oh, and making sucky content. And cowering/making-excuses like fragile little bitches when they get well-deserved criticism.
Asa could increase his popularity and viewership if he focused on his "RAR" flagship series, but he is obviously too lazy to do the effort to research, analyze and edit such videos.
(kinda like Chris with the Sonichu comic; too much effort needed!)
If you look at Asa's channel, it's a heck of a kitchen-sink mess where he does many inconsistent types of videos barely reaching 1000 views, obviously making them on impulse like an ADHD child who just rustles through his toys.
And then Retsupurae took that idea and actually made it watchable.Simple shorthand: anyone on the Internet who makes a video complaining about someone selling out is frustrated that no one is buying what they're selling.
I actually thought that Asa's Kickstarter Nightmares to be a good idea undone by his execution; an expose on the dumpster fire that crowdfunding has become.
There's this one guy on YouTube for example who goes by "BlueMagus." He associates with Eric and, judging by the few videos of his that I've seen, generally seems to "borrow" from other, more famous reviewers like Stuart Ashen. I had a chance encounter with him on Skype once (I know someone who's casual friends with him, and he got added to the conversation). You know how everyone seems to know that one nerd who acts like the "alpha" of their circle because they think they have the most knowledge on a particular topic or whatever? That's basically what this guy was like. Hilariously, he's employed at a shitty job and doesn't do shit around his house, letting whoever he lives with (mother or grandmother, not sure which) take care of everything.
I only talked to him that one time, but I actually managed to add Eric himself on Facebook through him. Unfortunately, I was never able to engage him personally. I tried messaging him once or twice, but he never responded and he eventually just deleted me for whatever reason.
And then Retsupurae took that idea and actually made it watchable.
It's sad when you think about it- Asa's got some decent-ish ideas with his "RAR" and "kickstarter Nightmares" videos, but the execution is bleh at best and butthurt at its absolute worst.
I consider Asa many things, Brony isn't one of them. The "He has a daughter" excuse may in fact be valid. The "Kickstarter Nightmares" was kinda funny when he went after the bottom of the barrel - of course, I'm talking about "Pony Island" and the "Sacramento Brony Convention". Which reminded me, I saw somewhere people claiming that Asalieri was a brony himself, because he owned some pony figurines and knew the characters' names. Now, that could be because he has a daughter and she was probably a fan of the show (and, for once, the intended audience!).
Well, "internet reviewers" are dying, so I'd expect the fat mistake that lives from criticizing them would die too. Six people, eh? A whole half dozen! Well, at least he got one video that broke the 1 million view mark, so he can take that to his internet tomb.
WTH 2017 results.
ONLY SIX PEOPLE VOTED
Hellsing920/Emer Prevost died yesterday. Asa's taking it pretty hard.
A lot of Asa's videos suddenly go missing without reason. He barely comments on that, and they get mirrored by fans.does anyone know what happened to his WTFU video?
I remember seeing both him and a youtuber named Gaming Goose make one, but they're both off their channels
my best guess what that they both deleted them, but I'd laugh at the irony of it if they both got DMCA'd for copyright on them
You.Is there a dude named Eric who isnt a huge faggot?
