I knew a girl in high school who, senior year, asked everyone to refer to her with 'he/him'. This was someone who made absolutely no effort to transition: long hair, makeup, visible boobs, still going by Patricia, etc. People used 'he/him' in front of her to be polite, but when she wasn't there everyone reverted back to she/her. I was baffled by it all.
Tumblr likes to claim that "gender is a social construct" but turn around and insist that their super special non-binary genders are just as real and concrete as physical and neurological sex. Intersex conditions are disorders of sex development and differentiation of the body; transsexualism is the disorder of sex development and differentiation of the brain. Intersex and transsexual people would still exist even if the words that described their conditions ceased to exist.
A social construct is something that is created and upheld by humans, and thereby, non-binary genders and social class are a social construct. In attempting to destroy one social construct (gender roles and stereotypes), they inadvertently created another one. Congratulations, genderqueers/non-binaries.
I've got a pretty big fakeboi masterpost, because I'm fucking salty that trans people aren't taken seriously because of the genderqueer and "lol i don't pass but i'm still a boy and you will refer to me as such you bigot" trend.
All these were from the "mlm", "mlm selfie" and "he/him" tags.
and now that i've had a fucking aneurysm, i'm going to work

I went through the he/him tag and I lost count of the amount of times I've seen girls who look like they're doing it just for fashion and not gender. Also why do they all have the same god damn hairstyle?
It's a uniform. "You must be this nonbinary to join our club".
Like most cliques that claim to be all about individuality and being yourself, a standard uniform always emerges. And if you don't comply enough you will be a poser. Remember how goth you had to be to not be a poser years ago? A lot of oldschool goths would never have been considered genuine to those little Hot Topic brats.
However, maybe in the current genderspecial climate things are a bit different. Especially since all you have to do to be trans is say so even if you have a full beard and dress like a lumberjack.
But I am inclined to believe that other than the kids desperate for attention that being cishet scum can't give them, there are many more just dressing the uniform for Tumblr points. Which I guess is essentially the same thing give or take how much you've deluded yourself into thinking you really are genderspecial.
It's a phase just like mallgoth and scene was. In a few years most of them will realise you can't get a real job in the real world dressing like an idiot and claiming you need special treatment because "This is who I am". Call me but I have a feeling all of this SJW stuff is going to come to a head and burst in a few years. The general public is not on board with genderspecials.
Using gender identity as a fashion should be considered offensive to these tumblrinas. But they tend to be too young and stupid to see their own hypocrisy. It's just the new "It's not a phase mom! This is who I am!"
Except it's worse because now it's all about "muh gender identity" when most of these girls are just normal straight or lesbian girls playing around with fashion and trying to shed grandma's vision of femininity.

They all look like girls. Most look very feminine. Short hair and pains do not make you look like a boy. In the 80s there were girls with short colorful hair like that. And they were girls. Not trying to look like boys. They look like they are cosplaying 30 year old fashion or something. They're not doing anything new or daring. They just look like girls with dangerhair who aren't wearing frilly dresses. That's it.
The only one who looks even remotely like a boy is the one in the red sweatshirt with the happy face pin who has the fading rotten seaweed hair like Chris. But she looks like she is probably dumpy even without the baggy clothes and poor choice in spectacles.
If they are even real glasses. I've noticed that kids are going out of their way to choose the absolute worst fitting eyewear for their face. Round face+round glasses does not work. It's less about looking put together and more about the stupid fad chasing uniform.
That and weird hipster glasses and 5 pounds of makeup despite wanting to be taken seriously as a trans person.
Genderqueer people on tumblr really ruined having bright/unnaturally colored hair. Cis or not, you have bright unnaturally coloured short hair and people will probably think you're a chaser who only dates "soft trans bois uwu" that identifies as a non-binary demi-fox-mermaid kin

Yep. I used to dye my hair cool colors but Tumblr basically ruined it for me. It must suck to be a female to male person and have to witness these clowns on Tumblr taking up the he/him tag and trans boy tag.
This thread made me have a flashback to the time my genderqueer ex-friend was ranting because the place they worked at wouldn't allow to them to wear a name tag with their male name on it.
:autism:
Tumblr holds a false belief that dark, thick Rock Lee-esque brows will make them look more masculine, when all it really does is make them look ridiculous.
fftopic: "I am mixed. I am Mexican and Cherokee."
My ass is more Mexican/Cherokee than she is.
Maybe it's in her genome, but that is most definitely not her main lineage.

To be fair I don't have all that much beef with trans people dying their hair weird colors. However I will make the assumption they're a snowflakegender. Though that's extremely hypocritical of me, but oh well

But a lot of them not only fill them in too much, they shape them very neatly, which most guys don't do. I have a super gay friend who does his brows, but they're still a natural dark brown and not black, aren't cartoonishly shaped, and aren't absurdly overdrawn. It's not natural, but it's approximating natural. I just don't understand why you would think sharpie brows are a good idea.
If they all just put in less effort, they would pass better.
I found this kid in the nonbinary tag. Those are kinda feminine glasses, but otherwise that's a pretty good 'dorky Asian guy' look. A center parted low ponytail is way more masculine than a short haircut that's dyed blue and shaved on one side.

Something that really annoys of these genderspecials is that they are the ones behind the "Latinxs" thing. Flash news, nobody who is actually from Latin America would be able to pronounce that, so isn't that cultural appropriation?
Especially since the language Spanish is a really gendered one, so this strikes me as them trying to "correct us" since Latino is already inclusive enough even if it's "male" for the same reason mankind refers to a group without gendering
Also, I never saw that term ever being used aside from the internet.
