And it's a damn shame he's not playing Kingdom Come Deliverance, because he would get his shit pushed in. The salt levels would be off the charts. Can't save whenever he wants, so instant rage there. Convoluted swordplay mechanics. Even fist fighting can be tough. Frustrating lockpicking and pickpocketing minigames. Dude would be dead from food poisoning before any of that though.

I was watching a 2013 TIHYDP earlier and it made me remember just how much more entertaining Phils content was when his fans didn't baby him. Let him fuck up and get angry at shit, don't always warn him and tell him everything.
 
Not sure if it was brought up before, only in video form... but the way he reasoned for no music GTA was hilarious and made no sense at the same time. ITS NOT BECAUSE HE IS GREEDY AND MONEY. NO. Its because he is loyal to his long time fans, who !does not have the broadband to watch the stream! and has to watch the video on demand. Sure. Of course.

Also nice of him that he is being loyal to the THIDYP creators who always rip his material off YouTube and don‘t have the bandwidth or the time to capture his streams directly.

Seriously if he would‘ve been directly responsible for the Holocaust we would find a way to justify it.

The Godfather 2 TIHYDP is especially good. For some boss-type enemies, you need to kill them in specific ways, like headshotting them with a shotgun, using the garrote wire, etc., to keep them from coming back. He had to kill someone with a handgun execution (a specific mechanic), and just kept shooting the guy normally. After hours of complaining, he ended up ragequitting the game because of "muh progression-stopping game bugs", and complained about it in his "review". Now, someone in Twitch chat would just tell him after the first failed attempt.

Literally thousands of fans with bad internet contacted Phil personally to beg him to keep his YouTube uploads! I think he seriously believes he has tens - if not hundreds - of thousands of fans.

What's the point of playing a GTA game without the music? It takes away so much of the atmosphere. It's like watching a movie with no music, which you know Phil would never even consider doing.

He totally inflates how popular he is. In one recent video, Phil said he was known by "millions" of people around the world. He's an international celebrity, dood. Yet he can only attract 500-600 legit viewers on his stream. It's like his YouTube channel where he has 186k "on demand" subscribers and his videos are lucky to get a thousand views over a month long period. Phil has at most those 600 fans, which is pathetic for a guy that's been around for a decade.

Wouldn't be surprised if more detractors watched than fans. Whenever I've been in his chat it's generally about 15-20 people who keep it going. Not surprising that they're all usually heavy tippers.

Considering how many viewers he has and the nazi like state that his chat is usually in his participation is shit. I've seen streams with half the viewers with more active varied users.

Saddest thing though will always be those detractor dono's. Nothing shows Phil his wicked ways like paying him and not getting your message read >.>

Why does he feel the need to have this speech about people misinterpretating stuff, trolls spinning things when he explains why he mutes the audio? I find it incredibly fucking petty, besides is not like its a bad argument to think that he mutes the audio just so he can make Ad Revenue.

In fact, why not let the audio play and let the parts be claimed? If you don't care about Youtube then you shouldn't mind a company making money off their intelectual property while the people on Youtube who watch your video can still enjoy the gameplay and the music.

Seriously, the only person who would have a problem with that is this fucking greedy dumbass.

At least be honest and concise, and say "i muted the audio because i don't want the parts to be claimed". That's it, no need to insult people or antagonizing them for not agreeing with him and no need to spend 10 hours on a pre-stream talking about something you claim you don't want to talk about.

They don't get claimed, which is why the muted audio is a big middle finger to his fans.

If you really cared about your content then you wouldn't monetize it and let the people who watch it on youtube enjoy the commentary and the music, but this is the pigroach we are talking about. (He can easily make 3 or 4 times the same amount of money on Twitch by the way).

This is probably one of the only things Phil did that legitimate pissed me off in recent times, how does this guy has fans is beyond me.

The answer to everything is that he's a paranoid narcissist, in his head it's all about him. No matter what you say to him, in his head everything in this world around him happens because of him, and if it doesn't, he has to insert himself into it by force. It's not enough to state in a short simple sentence his reasoning, it has to be BIG and IMPORTANT like HE IS.

And he'll never admit that, either, because he's never going to seek psychiatric help no matter how many human relationships he butchers, because it's never his fault.

Normally ContentID claimed videos means advertising revenue just goes to whoever set up the ContentID match for teh music studio and then that company sends the money to the studio, but in Rockstar games the videos tend to just get blocked from being viewed period.

That being said- he could just leave the videos on Twitch and put them into a playlist for people to watch there, then throw up a single video on YouTube saying "Hey, future GTA San Andreas videos can be found at this playlist" and he'd probably get people to watch them. I mean if he's really only concerned with people being able to watch the videos.

But he is in fact lying, he doesn't want people to be able to watch the videos, he wants to be able to get that hot 25-50 cents of ad revenue per video. That's why he goes through additional work, makes the videos shittier, and then uploads them to YouTube.

I'm 99% certain that's incorrect. All videos uploaded except ones uploaded by channels under a managed partnership go through the ContentID system. I'm not eligible for monetization (my videos get like 0-1 views) and all my video uploads still go through this long "95% done processing" step which is ContentID scanning, and they get dinged if they contain something in the ContentID signature system (usually music or Nintendo stuff.)

Once dinged a few things can happen if you don't successfully dispute the ContentID match
  • the video is completely blocked from being played
  • advertising revenue from the video is redirected to whoever set up the ContentID signature, and allegedly that company sends the money to the copyright holder whose work was detected in your video
  • statistics from your video are sent to whoever set up the ContentID signature, which I speculate is so the company can choose to sue at a later date and have hard evidence of what damages to ask for.

Well that's weird, i've seen plenty of GTA playthroughs with the music on and as far as i could tell, nothing was muted at all, if the video was claimed by someone i wouldn't know but still, even if it was claimed you can at least enjoy the music and the commentary but oh well.

I still doubt Phil does it for any other reason than making money.

Probably because Phil's average commentary is full of dead air between observations, so he's likely getting tagged because YT thinks he's uploading the raw music, instead of doing an LP.
