I think a good tip if you wanna try and blow past a few hundred pages on this thread, is to only read the posts that have a lot of informative ratings on them or if they contain spoilers for something important, instead of reading a large amount of shitposts and conversations about that informed post. That way you can get caught up on YanDev's past and present a lot quicker and easier.

Nahh, just skip go by about 50 pages per reading. This thread and the DSP one explode continuously with posts of no-substance like the one I'm currently shitting out. Skip back only when you catch something you haven't run into before.

Either her design is too generic to copyright (since she's wearing a typical Japanese HS uniform and her hair is nothing special), or the copyright holders of her design are the people who created her model.

Maybe it can tone it down, but these kids still can create new accounts and if they're smart () they can use a VPN too.

The best solution is probably to make a custom user group for all verified KiwiFarms users and then limit editing rights to that group. I haven't found a way to do that yet, though.

I’ve been lurking in this thread on and off for the last couple of days, and pretty much have the jist of it.

This is a prime example of complete mismanagement when it comes to indie game development. I’ll give him credit for jumping onto a project with a marketable idea: you play as a psychopathic serial killer who also happens to be a cute animu school girl. There are enough guys out there who are thirsty for yanderes and there are enough edgy teens who are attracted to the trope. Hell, he was being given $3000+ a month to work on this game on and off- which is double of what the average full time worker in the real world makes.

Alex even had free advirtising from the likes of Markiplier and a couple of other let’s play Youtubers.

And he managed to fuck it all up anyway.
His ultimate downfall will be his complete laziness. Donors are only going to be patient for so long before they just pull out of the project altogether.

It’s quite fascinating to watch it all unfold; there’s a lot of people who would kill to get even half the exposure and funds that Alex has been handed. If I were him, I’d take the dip in Patreon funds as a sign to work on cleaning up the game and just release it onto steam. The other aspects he wants to add in (which are pointless story points) can be added in later as DLC- and he could continue to make DLC to expand the shelf life of YanSim.

However, he won’t because of his laziness and inability to take any form criticism.

If this game ever was released he could have easily released all the meme Easter eggs as separate dlc. Cause basically that's all that shit would be good for. The main game could be as edgy and serious as he wants. (Campaign/Story mode) and a sandbox mode for fucking around in a glitch fucked up (Think Goat Simulator) world with all his meme and waifu bullshit. But he's too lazy to think that of course.

There’s no way he can salvage it with steam regardless of whether he uses early access or just cobbles a final build. The community would rip it to shreds over its poor optimization alone. If anything, getting the project involved with steam now would tank his already struggling reputation as a game dev.
