Butch Hartman Oaxis Shitshow

I am actually this schadenfreude of children entertainment creators of 90s and 2000s of being horrible people. I wish I knew more of them so I can start a deadpool.

Apparently, the tagline for Oaxis he was using isn't even his.

The shitstorm is really starting to hit really bad on this.
Like I and many others have said earlier, him being a CON ARTIST is much worse than him being religious. Take Doug TenNapel for instance, he's a religious guy who's gotten in hot water for saying questionable shit, but people still respect him as a creator (mainly due to Earthworm Jim) and Armikrog (regardless of how you feel about the game itself) still got crowdfunded quite seamlessly because DTN isn't a scammer
This.

If Butch actually gives full disclosure about his network and explain everything behind it, I doubt this drama will get into this bad. Heck, I can dare to say some who aren't even religious might help getting his Kickstarter just for a "thank you" for the cartoons he has done for their childhood if Butch reveals everything behind it.

But then again, it costs less money so it's not surprising to see which option he takes.

Crosspostong from the proving grounds thread.

Edit: these all came from newsletter emails that, up until the Oaxis announcement, were advertising online art classes hosted by Butch.

We need a version of this with Butch instead of John "She'll be legal in May"/"Her Parents are gone for the day"/"Who cares what the laws say"/etc K.

I stepped away from the farms for a long-ass while, but this honestly made me come back
can I ask why this is such a big issue with everyone? he apparently "scammed" people?
is he now not going to deliver oaxis or is what he promised completely different because the "family values" he promised are christian?

also, it might've been mentioned earlier, but the clip of him playing the video game and dismissing criticism is a response to this

hardly what I'd call critique

Basically, he was being super vague in KS videos, never specifying what "family values" meant, never really specifying what his service contained, offering shit rewards, being a manipulative jackass to backers who were likely minors, and he "mysteriously" got backed 1000s of dollars in the span of like 5 hours. The Christfaggotry is just kind of the key that unlocked all the other information that caused Butch to go from looking like an incompitent dunce to a narcissistic sociopath. And like many others have said, he's probably also scamming the bible thumpers as thing likes witchcraft, mpreg, ghosts, etc would probably be seen as "haram" in the mind of your typical 700 club watching fundie.

it's not really a secret that the guy's been a pretty heavy christian for the past few years. what did you really think "family values" meant? and the rewards are ultimately up to the backers to decide if they're worth it or not

I'd honestly need more proof for this than anything. it seems like he was mostly reaching out to the 20-somethings and 30-somethings who grew up watching his shows from what I've seen

and this is a bad thing? mostly people have implied that it's either him or some big company that he wants to partner with filling in the gap, albeit that's hearsay at best. if you think it's substantial enough to call him on it, then I'm fairly certain it's against the KS rules and you can call him on it
I've heard from someone running a kickstarter that towards the end the donations tend to pick up more, but I wouldn't personally know because I have no experience with them

The thing that bothered me the most was the lack of clarity, you can't rely on pathos alone when you want my money. A friend of mine once put it best: in an era where shit like Charlie's "Worst" Kickstarters and Ian's (sadly dead) Kickstarter Craps have become YT video genres in the own right, you can no longer just sell backers on dreams or cool ideas, you have to show them what they're getting. Not doing so isn't against the rules, but will make you look like an asshat

I'm curious to see how he'll publicly respond to this controversy.

I know that he's trying to hide it by taking the Daddy Derek route of removing any negative comments or videos that speak of him in a negative light. But he can only do that for so long.

The best possible ending (for us) would be him taking the religious persecution route

Butch Hartman, Nickelodeon Studios, church.
"Beginning navigation..."[/QUOTE]

With these eyes Butch got in those edited pics. Alex Jones, and other crazy guys like Benjamin Fulford and Henry Makow, will think then Butch Hartman is a reptilian or an alien, lol.

Eh, if he wants to run his network by his principals more power to him. The Christian niche audience is weird to me, but they spend fucking money and are fiercely loyal to anything their church deems appropriate. So if Hartman can convince evangelical pastors/whatever that his network is wholesome, he'll have hundreds of thousands of loyal customers after the next Sunday sermon.
