I am certainly grateful for the fact that my childhood media was eclectic. It has strengths. Often the writing helps too.
I envy you! That was my childhood!

I think you're find just the way you are. I'm sure it surprises plenty not seeing such a sight at this day and age, but I'm glad to know someone still thinks of modesty in their tastes to do as you did.I was walking to the bus stop last week and this couple were talking in the shade. They had a Staffordshire bull terrier with them. So they complimented my outfit and told me that I always looked so nice and my outfits were cute. And I thanked them. Then they asked me if I was a Baptist. And I knew this was tacked right on to the compliment about my outfit.
Then I realised that I dress like a conservative Christian much of the time.
I couldn't be any less religious. But it's a comment I have gotten before. A doctor once asked me if I was dressed the way I was because of religion and a professor told me that I reminded her of a Mennonite she knew. I think I'm sending out a vibe that I might be slightly less conservative than a Duggar. Guys must think they have to ask my family's permission to court me.
I'm just not all that into pants. I'd rather wear a dress or skirt. I find it more comfortable. It's cooler in summer and warmer in winter with layers. For this people have teased me by calling me Amish.
Is it that strange to not wear jeans most of the time?
I used to dress in a way that was described to me as "heavy metal hooker". I looked like I was going to a concert all the time. But I got more and more modest and maybe I overdid it. I need a new wardrobe. I don't want a bunch of church invites again.
Maybe it's time to break out the hardware again.
Always amusing to me watching the world freak out while the locals wax up our boards.
Sure, the power will go out. Probably. That's what hotels in Suffolk and Roanoke are for.

Huh, I thought everyone down there hated the Jews.I realize today that I hate the south.
I came across some obese guy who was talking about how Christians need to support Israel and the Jews are the Chosens.
He then went on to complain about "liberals" and then revealed he receives federal disability due to his autism
