That’s not even talking about the fact that they’re packing in stickless controllers, which badly limits playability for a lot of games they could have put on it otherwise. I don’t regret my SNES classic, but this is far more suspect.

I wonder, since the Playstation Classic has USB ports, can one plug in an XBox 360 controller to play any game with Dual Shock function or would there be compatibility issues with the 360 controller's analogue sticks?

Probably not, as it wouldn’t have the right drive to allow it to function. I doubt even current-gen controllers would function with it, and that’s if it has multiple ports. I’ve read reports of the USB port being the place you plug in the power.

Waste of time when emulation exists. Or better still, how about Sony selling disk images of their old PS1 games for download so they can be emulated legally, along with Sony dropping any copyright they may have in the PS1 firmware.

resident evil 1-3, medal of honor and moh underground (though these haven't aged well), gran turismo 1 and 2, silent hill, final fantasy 8 and 9

I will say that

At least with the Nintendo ones you’re getting stuff that’s hard to find if you like having something physical. The only major thing missing from the SNES Classic was Chrono Trigger, and a lot of other things in it rarely go for under 60 bucks. A proper SNES alone was worth 80 the last time I checked at a local store. What ps1 games could they put on here that aren’t common as fuck in the wild? Every store has copies of FF7. Tekken 3 is the best selling fighting game of all time if you exclude th dozen SF2 rereleases. The Legacy of Kain games are pretty easy to find. Spyro is pretty easy to find. Crash is easy to find and just had a full HD release. I’ve had remarkable trouble finding a physical copy of SotN, but that’s probably just me being very unlucky. Tactics Ogre and most of Working Designs' published games are hard to find in the wild. One or two of the system's less common RPGs alone would justify the cost of the system for many. Plus, the newest manufactured original system is at this point ten plus years old and the oldest over 20. I've been lucky in not having any problems with mine since I bought it in 1997, but it could wear out and I know that. A laser or something. could go kaput.

The main audience for this though probably isn't people that are hardcore into retro gaming :autism: like I am. It's for people nostalgic for the PS1 that didn't keep the system and younger people that missed it the first time.

I'm not interested in getting one at all. I'm a video game sped and I love rgb / hdmi modded consoles. I'm for sure not the target audience for this thing. I wasn't for the mini nintendos either but I ended up picking up a famicom and hacking it. These things are marketed to the people who grew up with playstation being their first console. People who have long since not had it and being able to buy a tiny version of their childhood back for nostalgia feels. All that being said, I have three games they should put on it.

Alundra
Crash Team Racing
Resident Evil Director's Cut

Cash in on that nostalgia $ Sony.

Not to be outdone, Sega just announced that the Sega Saturn Classic is out today at select retailers, but it's $100 more and only has five games.
Yeah, well at least that's still cheaper than actually buying those five games and the console.

Edit: Actually, even if it only had five games on it, if Panzer Dragoon Saga was one of them, then you know people would actually buy the thing.

A dumb faggot like me can dream...

Nope. You'll be getting Bug and you'll like it.
