The Walking Dead

I think I know who that stranger that shadowed Rick and Erin and creeped on Father Gabriel was....

Ah but it's so juicy...

Okay I'll guess, I think it's one of the Whisperers
I'm worried it's not and they're gonna make more filler bad guys to pad the second half of the season.[/quote]

Dwight was never 100% into Negan's political influence and was very passive-aggressive in a couple episodes, so this precludes some justified curiosity. But if it is a filler, at least make him one of Negan's shadow-hands.

There's some fan speculation that it's the guy who wrote that long ass sign and had that boat out with the walkers in the water, and that was just a test for him to see if you're a worthwhile survivor.

It'd be a little cool if that was the case and they added a new guy/group/small community in addition to the ones that were already in the comics.

good point, I hadn't considered that possibility, especially since we haven't seen Dwight in this episode. However, according to the timeline of the comics, he may already be in The Kingdom. episode 709 is going to be a bunch of people begging Ezekiel, it seems

Also that boot....who laces their boot from the sides around their lower ankle with twine? Unusual.

I love it. When Negan went full-anime praying to the power of Lucille after she got shot. Holy fuck that was actually hilarious, if not unintentionally.

I hate to admit it but I am just rapidly losing interest in the show. Mostly because the way it is paced, and the fact that a lot of the tension and threat from the zombies seems to be nonexistent at this point. I still watch but mostly out of habit. I hope they begin to wrap things up in the next season or two.

@Alpha Loves You

I just had a crazy thought. In a filler episode, 706 to be exact, there is a new community of all women called "Oceanside" (all the men were Lucille'd) and we saw, what I thought was at least, a Whisperer as a bonus scene during the mid-season finale 708.

So my crazy thought is, could one of those women from Oceanside become Alpha? Why else would they introduce SO many new faces and names? That's my fan-theory ATM. I'm still convinced we will see the Whisperers before the end of season 7, or a hint of them at the very least, for multiple reasons

That's actually really well thought, but I think you give the show creators too much credit. If they cared about comic continuity they wouldn't have made Eugene a sniviling autist, Andrea a dumb fangirl and Dwight and unlikable cunt. Oceanside is in the comics too and it has men in it.
Besides, they've made Negan a million times harder to empathise with now that we know he willingly kills dozens of men to prove a point. when in the comics, he's VERY clear that he doesn't enjoy the cruelty of his actions.
I think they should just skip the Whisperers in the show, they've already messed up all out war and they've only just started.

So this mid-season finale of ALL OUT WAR was so boring Scott Gimple had to kill off Billy the Kid Carl to make it interesting. Don't you DARE point this shit out on Reddit though, or you'll get banned /no shit sherlock.

rip coral
it was fun while it lasted
im expecting carl to be the andrea of this season, that is if you read the comics

His official explanation for killing off TV Carl Grimes was so that Negan could live in the future seasons, because Gimple is missing his frontal lobe he forgets that Carl had every opportunity to kill Negan himself in A New Life after spending two years straight talking to him in private. He knows the show is a Machinima laughingstock with no meaningful disassociation with the comic books but I'm convinced Ubisoft's storyboard could have written the show better at this point.

Season 9 premiers tonight but I can't be bothered. I'm really necroing this thread to discuss AMC's baffling decision to keep running the show after Andrew Lincoln's decision to leave. (He's getting killed off some time in season 9, and they know this is going to anger fans so much they're advertising it ahead of time.)

TWD writers have written some stupid shit over the years, but this is the stupidest thing imaginable. Ratings are down, everyone agrees the show is in the shitter, so just end it already. You can't keep the story going when it was the main character's story from the beginning!

I don't even know why I'm mad... last season was terrible :c

This sentence could apply to the whole franchise at this point. Unless @big baby jesus has a point and the comics are slowly improving

Fear has a pretty decent cast now with Garret Dillahunt and Maggie Grace added to it, and the show is decidedly more post-apocalyptic (their main mode of transportation is a giant armored SWAT van with machine guns built into it, looking like one of the trucks out of Sorcerer) than Walking Dead proper has been in years... but the writing is generally still weak with a lot of "why the fuck would anyone do that?" moments in it and the main antagonist for the latest season was one of the most re.tarded things they've ever done.

Walking Dead is one of those shows that I feel would really benefit from a shorter season.

By having 16 episodes a season, I feel like they inject too many detours and pointless side stuff that doesn't accomplish anything.

Remember the Hospital arc? Or how about last season where The Saviors thought Negan was dead and tried to move on with out him...TWICE!

If they shortened it down to 10 eps or so, they'd probably have a much better paced story.

It's all about the money with AMC. So they don't give a fuck how many filler episodes have to be made so long as assholes continue to watch the show.

I was very surprised to find out Carl died. I didn't think they'd have the balls to do it. I can only guess that the actor either wanted more money or wanted to move onto other things.

Without Carl the only interesting character left is Daryl. And how much longer will it be before Norman Reedus say's "Fuck it." And leaves?

I think that's the issue with almost all broadcast TV, as well as even some streaming stuff.

I'm a big capesperg, I've watched every episode of Agents of Shield, I try to keep up with half the Arrowverse. I legitimately think 20+ episode seasons are the biggest problem these shows have. They can do stuff in small bursts (AoS very small bursts), and of they just did 6-10 episodes of just those bursts they could be enjoyable programming rather than background noise for mellow gaming.
