It is a complete and total contradiction (and obvious long running joke) that the self proclaimed "King of Hate" is in reality so scared of trolls & people 'hating' on him that he is a shut in hermit with literally 0 friends who controls his online presence as much as possible

I'd like to propose at this time that, if the following things do not occur, the latest tax/house drama arc be deemed a scam and, by proxy, the previous ones as well:

• DSP receives documented funds sufficient to pay the supposed $16,000 sum, or
• DSP provides written documentation from the IRS or lending agency, with current date and details of amount due

I think most if not all people here are confident neither of these will happen. Hell, most of his viewers are as well, likely. I say this because, for one and unless I'm mistaken, no proof was ever given that he actually received the money he needed when we went through this last year as well. It was just intense fundraising for four-ish months followed by a "we did it, guise!" as he flailed his arms with a fist full of blank papers.

Suffice to say, I think careful followers of this show already know how things will play out. He'll get a handful of large donations but not nearly enough to cover what he's asking. Sprinkled in there will be hints or outright claims of more, even larger, anonymous tips of which he'll provide no documentation.

Then come April we'll see a resurgence of Darksfadil Triumphant as he loudly proclaims his continued victory against the detractors, no weapon formed against him shall prosper, etc., etc. All before he slams his great meaty fist down on the reset button in September to roll it all back for us to do again.

I submit that, despite his obvious extravagant lifestyle and bonkers spending habits, there has never been a tax crisis. There has never been a danger of him losing his house (either of them). To wit, there is no war in Ba Sing Se. Is the quote somewhat misused? Perhaps, but I believe it apropos to describe the degree of doublethink needed to justify in one's own mind the repeated supporting of this man's lifestyle when nothing good comes from it.

To be fair, someone mentioned that Twitch strikes supposedly reset after 45 days, and since Dave hasn't done anything to get banned over the summer, Twitch probably wiped his slate.

Honestly, if it had just been PDP he was insulting, I don't think Twitch would have cared. But, with him grouping Markiplier (who has recently started streaming on Twitch with partnered content) and Ninja (who just appeared on one of the biggest events outside of E3 that Twitch just got back) into "those Muppet creators", I'm sure Twitch kept a protective eye on the golden piggy. And when thirdeye decided he was tired of Dave's jealousy, and Ninja commented on it, Twitch went into full panic mode to make sure Dave went into full panic mode to "Save Duh Stweam!"

They do, his dad paid for his entire income tax bill and Leanna's Christmas present last year. He may have also helped pay one the mortgages, I can't remember. My guess is that Phil doesn't want to see them for whatever reason.

He mentioned the taxes in prestream in April of this year. It gets worse... he asked his dad for a certain amount to cover his tax bill exactly. As it turned out, he wound up owing less than he asked for... and just pocketed the difference. He's scamming his own parents.

Presents he also mentioned in prestream, I believe it was late last year.

Didn't Phil make that claim? If someone has it from a non-Phil source, I'm inclined to believe it. And I'm sure Twitch will let old strikes disappear eventually, but I don't trust much of what Phil says about things like this--far more likely is that he was trying to dissuade further reporting to Twitch.

It's not Twitch being cucked by DSP. It's Twitch seeing a number of startups trying to take their throne, so they're not as likely to take a risk on losing partners who bring in money. And let's face it, no matter how small Phil is in the grand scheme of things, he still brings in money from his kiddie fans. Unless the clamor is so great that there are already calls to boycott Twitch if they don't ban so-and-so streamer, they're not as likely to take out someone even if it means making a mockery of their ToS.

As a side benefit of Phil never reaching the heights of Ninja, he can talk shit each stream and he'll just get a stern talking-to each time. Just my two cents.
