Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Had to make an account to comment on this mess. This shit is hilarious, sad, and hilariously sad all at once. It's perfect.

Remember, the hot take was that Vic should go off, apologise for all the rape, beg for forgiveness, then fade into obscurity as the new woke and righteous thinking took their earned places at the top table for all Funimation roles. Personal friends of Rial and Sabat have benefited from Vic being fired from all his roles in Texas and everyone else has "moved up one" meaning longer queues at cons, more appearances (and associated fees) and more chances to hock merch and make more money. All for the low, low cost of an innocent man, his livelyhood and reputation. It's cost them nothing at all for now, and has been repeated writ large across whole communities for the better part of a decade.

Also, do not underestimate how fucking important these morons think they are. That seething jealousy is what has driven them since at least November, if not for years. They're still on the high for "winning the fight" not realising they barely scraped by round one. This is why they've (allegedly) thrown their weight around at Kamahecon, they still think they're winning despite the fact the wheels of civil litigation have begun to squeak and squeal as they slowly start to turn.

They're acting like bullies because the current VAs not turning up would hurt the con's bottom line. Not many people realise all this stupid shit is going down and Sabat and Rial need the extra win. As Nick pointed out, it's shitloads of money at a time when most lawyers by the point of this fucking train wreck will be asking for $40-50k up front each and they won't be able to fucking resist trying to punt their story out there again at the DBZ convention where all the core fans are going to be watching and are not aware of the situation.

As Nick guessed, rightly, they'd be able to pick up 20-30k easily in a single weekend talking to people they hate the sight of and for signing shit as lazily as humanly fucking possible.

They're well aware of the litigation coming, the problem is they have tiny lizard brains addicted to social media and approved news sources so have no fucking clue them screaming Vic's a rapist or a predator repeatedly is just making things a lot worse for them, and this situation with the con?

Well, for starters they threatened the con with a no-show if Vic was reinvited. That's TI with contract as everyone was contracted to appear to the point as @AnOminous has said it's basically text book slam dunk. So, strike one.

Strike two is threatening to call all their friends and for them to no-show if Vic was reinvited. That, if proven, is outright extortion and an actual criminal offence. It's where the "That's an awful nice X you got there" meme comes from. We've apparently got proof that these fucking idiots, at a time when they're being served papers, decided to wail on a guy for three hours straight by text telling him they'd try and ruin his con by giving him a bunch of empty tables and probably make some further idiotic public statements about how evil people are for backing Vic.

I think there's also a more simple explanation to it, as well: Sabat and Rial are cowards. They tried to drag Vic through the dirt and although they did some damage, their narrative quickly fell apart like tissue paper. Nobody likes being exposed, so imagine what it's like for two narcs to be called out on their mistakes, especially since they've appointed themselves judge and jury.

They fucked a man in the ass and don't even have the courtesy to look at him in the face afterwards.

I'm sure none of our moral superiors at PULL have never engaged in sexual activity while under, or with someone who was under, the age of consent. I mean, that's such an uncommon occurrence in the first place.
Maybe it finally occurred to them to shut up and stop digging their own graves.
Are you kidding? Apparently Rial and Sabat at least were out in the graveyard with backhoes yesterday.
Sabbat's (Sabat's? I have no idea how it's spelled)
Sabat.

I'm rewatching Nick's stream from last night to get clear on some of what he said and I really wish he'd gone into more detail when he said "You don't get to lie about what you're going to do to Vic Mignogna" and "he dropped Vic on your words that never materialized". What did they say? Maybe they claimed they'd gotten Vic to agree not to go and accept the broken contract?

Also interesting to note that the con booked Vic first, or at least he accepted the invite first.

Edit: Nick talking about his source he says "You think these people are on your side when you bully them into an illegal position" which is a pretty strong implication it's the con owner or the guy's wife or something.

Remember when Rial and Toye were MIA for a few days because of a stomach bug? I know the general opinion was that they probably were actually sick (and they might've been, don't get me wrong), but now I'm wondering if they were too busy doing... something else, if you catch my drift. Like maybe, I dunno, some good old-fashioned extortion of a convention head? Something like that probably cuts into time that could be spent screeching on Twitter.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Yeah, we don't know, though I wasn't clear on if Nick doesn't know either or if he was just not telling us. We just know it was something that they promised was going to happen but provably didn't. This is complete conjecture, but maybe it's something like "Vic is about to be arrested for sexual assault." Or maybe just something less concrete like "There's no way his fans are going to support him through this."

Supergirl has gone protected. It turns out PULL found some guy that was stan vic, that had a legal history. On the sex offender registry. They threatened him off Twitter.

Supergirl decided to interview him so he could tell his side of the story. PULL wasn't going to have any of that.

"That's what you get for giving a sex offender a platform, pedo enabler! All you Vic stans are all the same..."

"That's terrible.... just terrible, but they deserved it... we didn't do anything... heh "

"oh mah god shes so ugly I bet thats why she wants approval from incel pedos zomg"
PULL don't allow different ideas and different opinion in there forum tread and banned anyone that dare to challenge them in there, let that sink in of how much of a echo chamber they want, also they notice your post btw lol.

As the famous philosopher Bender Bending Rodriguez once said...

"Blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer 'extortion'. The 'X' makes it sound cool. "

I’m not sure that it would be considered chargeable as Blackmail or Extortion. It does seem to be rapidly getting into Federal Anti-Trust and FTC territory though? We have a group of participants in an industry conspiring to deny access to that industry to an unflavored participant via collusion, unfair business tactics, threat, fraud, slander lies and defamation. Not to mention what could be taken as threats of or instances of vandalism against businesses that don’t comply. Much like the comic industry these anime VA consortium is acting like mafia thugs. If Sabat is viewed as a Vice Principal of Funimation Funi could be looking at a world of hurt. The sort that throws Sony into panic mode. We know they did this with Kamehacon. How many others? At what point does it move beyond simple individual instances of TI, and into something that resembles Racketeering? Have they done this to anyone else? Is there a Federal complaint in here somewhere?

I've spent the last couple of hours just thinking about what Rackets said in his last stream and its just. It seems every day I say "We still have not hit bottom for how stupid these people can get". Yet here I am saying it again. Every day. Every single day I am blown away by how mind numbingly stupid these people are. Its been known for WEEKS lawyers are involved and 6 figures in legal funds have been raised. We know that THEY know because they bitched about it! And yet 5 days ago, Chris Sabat and Monica Rial pull a Mark Waid and bitch out a convention. For fucks sake they can't even argue they didn't know about the contract because apparently the Con TOLD THEM they had a contract and they continued to inerfere Anyway! Even that potato Shane Holmberg managed to grasp that this proves TI with a contract (I think) during his humiliation on Rackets' show. Worse, as part of their TI they reveal a civil conspiracy (by tag teaming the Con) and resorting to extortion demands to get their way. They didn't do this back in February, they did this last week! :story::story::story::story:

Ron Toye finally got a fucking lawyer and will be shutting up about Vic, but not before one more obnoxious smiley.

He paid a lawyer a few hundred dollars to read over the situation, look him in the eye, and tell him to shut the fuck up. I wonder what the retainer fee for this shitshow is, because I bet its huge.

I wonder if they've all collectively shit themselves today.

Ron Toye finally got a fucking lawyer and will be shutting up about Vic, but not before one more obnoxious smiley.

He's sending mean twitters and videos to his attorney? I'm sure they're going to love being bombarded with utterly irrelevant shit while they fight a unwinnable battle for him. I just wish the world would open up and swallow stupid cockroaches like Ron, how the fuck is he still being a smug little shit when he's about to get his ass blown to shreds? They have to be sitting on actual physical evidence that they keep spouting is true to be this confidant. Unless of course Ron has fed his own attorney his warped view of reality and the poor guy is going to be in for a shock when he sees what's actually been going on. I just hope the guy is charging a retainer and sucks these fuckers dry before jobbing out to BHBH.

would bet money Ron hired a Kevin landau tier attorney to defend him
Nah I looked him up, he specializes in litigation cases and seems to be a very accomplished trial lawyer who has won millions for people. Not sure why he'd take on a radioactive client like Ron though, I mean did he at least look at the shit that's out in the public zone before saying yes? He seems like the kind of guy to take his win/loss record fairly seriously.

He doesn't look cheap either, can't wait to see the go fund me page for Ron pop up.
