Chris's GameStop Assault - What happened? Why? How?

If the OP on tumblr wasn't at GameStop at the right place and time, would we know as much as we do about all of this?

I don't know how well placed the sources that Marvin and others use to get otherwise unavailiable details about OPL and Snorlax, but at the very least we would know something had happened, albiet at the earliest it would have been tomorrow. We somehow learned about the fucking taint well before he actually confirmed it publicly, Chris breaking several laws and going to jail is much more noticable than bodily mutilation.

I thought it was more like the female alien singer thing in Star Wars VI...

I think by tracking that woman in the argyle monstrosity of a sweater, we can see that she had asked him to leave and followed him till she was sure he left. Notice she walks past the camera man and continues to stare at our autistic hero. I think she kicked him out. The argument that lead up to this might have been even more ridiculous, maybe she asked yellow shirt to call security, maybe Chris was using something as strong as pepper spray to stop *gasp* a fucking phone call

Edit:I actually really love that sweater

Agreed. His "Don't call anyone" was not a panicked scream, it was a flippant, arrogant exit. Same with the spray. He didn't recoil from the guy, it was an offhanded "Well fuck you," gesture. I don't know if he went in intending to mace somebody, but he did not panic.

As I mentioned in another thread, Chris bellowing out "DON'T! CALL! ANYONE!" was Chris acting like he is the ruler of all creation and we all are nothing but his groveling servants that must obey him. Pure unabashed CWC ego for all the world to see.

And that spraying he did was truly uncalled for. The guy wasn't even in arm's reach of Chris but he shot out a squirt anyway, just to inflict harm on someone. If it had been a little kid in that spot it would not have mattered to Chris I'm sure. Chris demands obedience, and if we do not obey, then harsh punishments must be inflicted. Kind of ironic because Chris is in need of some harsh punishments more than anyone else to teach him the error of his ways.

Looking back at the video:

Chris had the bottle of pepper spray at the ready prior to getting to the door. 99% of all pepper sprays come with a safety switch to prevent accidental discharge. The speed that Chris pulled it out and fired at the employee means that he's either had training on how to turn the switch without pause (something we know couldn't happen since Chris is not at all coordinated), or he had the switch already on 'Fire', knowing he'd have a confrontation from someone.

Also: Chris fails at pepper spray pretty hard. It looks like he got almost all shirt.

I think it needs to be restated, just for clarity's sake.

Chris maced someone over a cartoon character's arm color without any outside influence.

Even if Chris had never discovered the Internet, had never met any online trolls, he still would've done this. He still would've attacked Snyder. He still would've burned down his house. Rob Bell was right about one thing, Chris is an Adult Autistic Child. He will never "grow up" or "move on." Chris is incapable of living on his own without constant supervision.

"What if Chris got a job? What if Chris got his act together?" He will not. He will never move past being a spoiled, entitled child in an adult's body.

Good question. I personally think not and without the video the cops may have never gotten involved to the degree they are now.
I don't think we'd know as much as we do but the cops would have got involved anyway. Chris committed assault no matter how you look at it, the police would have to bring him in.
Without the video I'd imagine the best we'd have is some unconfirmed reports from @JFKdestroyer's recorded police radio chatter, and maybe the follow up from any field agents

Holy shit yes. I know Chris hasn't mentioned The Avengers, but I could honestly believe that he saw this (or a reference to it on Family Guy or something) and thought that would be a wicked-awesome way of dealing with his enemies. Who, of course, he views as being on a par with Marvel supervillains.

But without the video posted to Tumblr, we may have not even found out about the incident yet, that was the point I was attempting to make. Yes we would have found out about it eventually but the ween squad would not have been on the case as quickly.

Since he's still accusing Snyder of throwing himself at his stopped car, I wonder what story he's going to cook up for the gal-pals on this one. Will he own up to it and treat it as an act of heroism? Or will he claim the gamestop employee tripped and fell on his pepper spray to get him in trouble?

The video seem to show that he had the can out in his hand as he was walking past the camara

He had something in his hands but you cant really see what it was. It looked like paper or something. His other hand was around the strap of his purse, which is the same hand he used to mace.
Maybe some CSI forensic skills can sharpen and clear the image too see the brand and serial number of the can.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chris snapped "DON'T CALL ANYBODY" at the clerk because he thought mall management had received that letter he wrote, and agreed to his demand that mall security never "harass" him and Barb ever again whenever they stopped in to shop, and the GameStop clerk wasn't privy to this information. Chris didn't say it because he really meant "Don't bother calling, I'll see myself out."

Anyone else wonder if Chris is sitting in jail believing that he's a martyr for getting arrested over vandalizing copies of Sonic Boom? Like he really believes that he was willing to get himself in trouble and go so far to pepper spray a store clerk to get Sega to recall all copies of the game, so now Sega has to take action?

It will never cease to amaze that, despite all of what he's gone through, he's still an incredibly delusional manchild who really thinks he can influence major corporations like that.
