Game of Thrones Thread

Also going by the princess tropes of

Can talk to animals
Routinely Kidnapped
Lusted after by evil king
Can't do anything without a man helping
Has magical powers
sits by and does nothing when fighting breaks out
Has a tragic childhood

Bran is the ultimate princess

Bran can’t do anything without anyone helping. Actually, no, Rickon applies to most of it too. He’s useless. At least Bran could get off his ass and warg into a bigger creature. But no, he has to do the birds. Always the birds.

Naturalistic my ass. Snow reflects light you dumb motherfuckers.
It's interesting how they're trying to defend the pitch black lighting as an artistic decision.
In one of the older behind the scenes videos for the Battle Of Blackwater Bay episode, David Benioff says they decided to have the battle at night because of the increased special effects and "Darkness hides your sins better".

Quite possibly the biggest dicksucking to rival Fallout76.

An even more fundamental problem with this direction has occurred to me which I'm assuming will be completely glossed over: Cersei isn't really a villain to anyone except the show characters at this point. No one outside the North knows or is going to believe what happened with the Night King and they were already a tiny fraction of Westeros' population to begin with. The Lannisters don't exactly seem to be terrorizing the general populace any more than other factions. They don't keep slaves so there isn't any appetite for an uprising like there was when Danerys came to Meereen. Aren't Jon and Danerys just a couple of assholes with a horde of migrants dragging out an endless war to the rest of Westeros now?

She still blew up the Sept of Baelor, not to mention wiping out House Tyrell. Danerys's foreign horde is pretty much gone. The North certainly knows how much Jon and Danerys did for the kingdom, plus we do know that the south is aware the Dead breached the Wall (Qyburn delivered the message to Cersei back in episode 1). Not saying any of this is going to fix the problem -- all of this is small potatoes compared to the threat of the Dead, or it should have been -- but Cersei is still pretty much a huge asshole.

There's no doubt she's an asshole, I just think it's debatable how much the common people know that or care. The Sept of Baelor explosion probably isn't blamed on her, the army of the dead will be shrugged off by 98% of Westeros as superstitious northern nonsense, and Dany also smoked House Tarly. They made a big deal out of Danerys "breaking the wheel" for the common people but it seems like a common person in the south would just assume she fuck off so they can go back to dirt farming in peace.

I've never watched GOT. I'm not even a fan. I have read a few books but I use them to get better at writing not because I'm interested in the story.

I watched a few youtube rant videos about the infamous recent episode out of couriosity...and holy shit it's SO FUCKING DARK!!

Compare this to the battle of helm's deep.

The light in GOT may be more like irl but it's a bad choice & was done on purpose.

I think you're underselling the Sept explosion. It's clear that more than just the Sparrows and trial attendees got killed there; recall the peasant who got smeared to a thin red paste by a crashing bell. It also seems clear that the people are perfectly aware who's to blame; her coronation looked more like a funeral. Also, with the Golden Company and Euron's fleet propping her up, she's the one with foreigners and savages feeding on the kingdom.

On the other hand, we've gone ten full episodes since the sept blew up with zero consequences for Cersei doing it, and barely any acknowledgment it even happened, so clearly I'm fooling myself if I expect competence in the finale.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but does Arya Stark have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome?
Worse, she has a terminal case of the Bong genes.

It was the fact that season 7 didn't start with Cersei having to deal with serious domestic unrest and rebellion for blowing up the Westerosi equivalent of the Vatican that got me to write off the series. I'm so cynical about the series now I expect neither Wildfire nor Cersei blowing up the sept will be commented on in the rest of this series.

#CerseiDidBaelor #NotMyQueen

if you look close at the smoke trails you can clearly see spits of green fire BEFORE the sept collapsed. cersei missed her trial, so did tommen (rest in the gods embrace), and if you talk to the right people in flea bottom you'll hear about a lot of worshippers of the lord of light who CONVENIENTLY stayed home that day
