I admit, I have a grudge against Olive Garden; they knocked down the Krispy Kreme to build one in my town.

Hey, fuck you, I like Krispy Kreme donuts.

But the point (made by a dozen posters already) still stands, and it still shows the AMAZING disconnect between the left and the rank-and-file Americans. And meanwhile, Trump -- a man I would've NEVER believed capable of it -- is connecting, over and over, with the workers. And making the Dems shit the bed while he does it.

Well, who has a better idea of what the average "worker" is like?

A guy who has 40+ years experience in business across multiple fields from airlines to hotels to real estate?

A person who fears leaving their gated community after dark and thinks everyone in town makes $55K a year, minimum, with obvious exceptions like the garbage man and the mexican landscaping crew who cut their lawn?

This is the shit that cracks me up all the time. The notion that the tax reform that was passed only helps out the "super rich & corporations". Mother fuckers I make just a little under $36K a year, and in a town where the median income is $24K. EVERYBODY in this town that I've talked to about them, are paying less in taxes, more take home i.e. more spending money after the tax break.

But according to the narrative being pushed by the Dems, my $36K a year, non-welfare receiving ass is a member of the 1% corporate elite. Seriously, on a personal level, FUCK that talking point so much.

The Dems have no idea how out of touch they sound when they bang the "those tax cuts were for the rich" drum when my taxes, after Trump took office, went DOWN.

Not by a LOT, but they did, in fact, go DOWN.

They certainly didn't go UP.

I didn't get anything back under Obama, except the threat of hundreds in tax 'fines' if I didn't support the insurance industry.

I got a small refund under Trump. Small, yes, but one that existed. And he ended that stupid fucking socialist healthcare "mandate".

I have the checks from the Treasury to prove it too.

Do they expect me and a lot of other Americans to not trust their lying eyes and agree that taxes somehow went up? Or that a $50 refund, while seemingly a pittance, is unwanted? That the RIGHT thinking middle and blue collar classes would tear up that check in a rage? Or refuse to spend it out of spite? That if given a choice, taxpayers would say "Oh No, Uncle Sam, I beg of you, KEEP my meager refund, if I can only buy a decent dinner for myself with it or some little bauble of consumerist trash and not a second car, what was the point?" It's not like buying a pair of shoes or a pool inner tube with that fifty that you otherwise wouldn't have can HELP the economy in any way.....

You know Trump may be infamous for his Twitter usage but I think he does understand that social media isn't a representation of reality and it's ultimately meaningless.
Probably why he uses it so much as a smokescreen and to prod the Dems into doing dumb shit.
It still boggles my mind that a 73 year old Boomer understands social media better than people a fifth of his age.
Just goes to show theres no substitute for experience.

Worst case scenario, she actually gets the Democrat nomination and still fucks them hard.

There isn't a scenario where the DNC wins if she runs.
