This shitshow is bigger and funnier than Failout 76. lmao
No wonder the Shovel Knight crew gets so much love. That is a team that respects the medium. They didn't have to make all those little changes for the Japanese version, but going above and beyond is very commendable.Compare their tone to the tone of the Shovel Knight developers on any blog post. I've read this one a few times over because it's interesting, but just, pay attention to the tone: https://yachtclubgames.com/2016/07/japan-localization/ Shovel Knight is a widely beloved game that handed out free DLC long after launch. It was one of the few crowdfunded games that actually did everything right.
I just had the big think, would Epic have tried to make Mighty Number Flop an Epic Store exclusive for its PC release if it existed at the time?Oh hey I know another game that antagonized their fans. Made them cry like an anime fan on prom night, and that was looooooooooong after taking their money in advance, just like Oobleck or whatever this game's called.
5.4k upvotes, 46k downvotes on the trailer. Ended up widely panned, a notorious black mark on crowdfunding as a whole, and those who opted for the 3DS version never even got their fulfillment.

Something tells me this game's gonna suck hard.
Sidenote from the Reddit OP, the people in yellow are "Star Belly" users, and reactions can only be added by them. Just figured that might be pertinent to the discussion.
There's no way they wouldn't offer for such a high profile game, and there's no way Comcept wouldn't have taken it. Every little detail about MN9 was money-grubbing as could be, from the cheap, too small of a boxes they sent out to the whole Red Ashes Kickstarter that was announced well after the point MN9 backers were getting worried.I just had the big think, would Epic have tried to make Mighty Number Flop an Epic Store exclusive for its PC release if it existed at the time?
I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but Bloodstained had a great PR crew during the kickstarter which is how it got so much money and so much hype behind it in the first place and something you can really appreciate after this whole Ooblets situation. If an offer was made it probably was avoided because a little EGS money boost was unneeded with how well the Kickstarter did and wouldn't be worth the bad PR.There's no way they wouldn't offer for such a high profile game, and there's no way Comcept wouldn't have taken it. You know, come to think of it, Bloodstained wasn't on Epic, and it turned out good. Think they shot down an exclusivity offer?
Not extra commentary: that is 100% real and confirmed by the people currently being mass-banned from that Discord server. Much like that Malaysian lady earlier! Ain't this dev just the best, everyone? Aren't they really sticking it to those manbabies, my fellow non-toxic gamers ta haGod, I hope that's what they're actually called and not just extra commentary on your part.
That would be amazingly tone-deaf.
There wasn't as much funny stuff as I hoped, but there is this.So I made an export of the Ooblets Epic-chat channel, so enjoy!

Like... wow
Holy shit
The Sneetches isn't exactly the most subtle story
Isn´t it kind of funny how they conditoned our 10 year old brains to get familar with the menus in source/1.6/tf2?It's remarkably easy to forget how Epic has Fortnite. Then again, HL & CS were nearly PC exclusive†, so you were forced to use Steam, which slipped a digital storefront into the mandatory obnoxious software you had to use for server browsing. Meanwhile, Fortnite is cross platform with everything but PlayStation 4, so everyone on Switch, Xbox One, and mobile will never even see the Epic Games storefront. They're not really bringing any reasons for Fortnite fans to even check out the storefront. Do they give any Fortnite-related bonuses or freebies for even just browsing around? That's a simple little gesture they could do to draw in customers. Free games weekly is a pretty awesome thing to have when you're a kid with no money, but I wouldn't be surprised if the vast, vast majority of Fortnite players are completely oblivious to that offer.
†Half-Life 2 and Counter Strike were both released on the original Xbox, but their popularity was negligible. HL2 didn't have any multiplayer support at all, and CS needed a paid Xbox Live subscription, while PC players could enjoy it for free.
did the guy even read what penguin wrote?
