Credit card payments: $1000-$2000(this is extremely high for CC payments and under the impression that he carries a minimum of 7 cards and uses all 7 every month)

I think you might be underestimating how much he's paying every month to keep the credit card companies at bay. Here, read this:

This man has tens of thousands of dollars of credit card debt.

And that means he has OVER $100K of credit card debt, because that's just how much he can LOWER the payments.

He just admitted during part 2 of the Christmas begathon that he was

1. applying for credit cards with 0% introductory rates
2. racking up a bunch of debt on the cards
3. applying for new credit cards with 0% introductory rates and transferring the debt to them

He deserves to have hundreds of thousands of dollars of credit card debt that he will never escape. He doesn't deserve good credit.

This man probably has no money of his own because every time there's some money on his bank account, it's at risk of getting swallowed by some kind of debt/credit card payment.
He has mentioned a couple of times that he has tried to set due dates for bills around the same date as much as possible. That's why he's complaining about being overdrafted and pushing for cash tips at the same time: he's trying to get a positive balance on his bank account through tips as often as possible in order for him to actually be able to buy things. After using that positive balance to buy stuff, most likely one of the many bills (debt payments included) will take away what's left of that, and force his bank account in the red again.
I can see how this is a continuous battle like the ebb and flow of an ocean, hence his constant begging for tips and complaining about being overdrafted. Though, he got lucky the past month by getting some extra cash (e.g. the $2K cat reveal), so he hasn't been hammering on the being overdrafted thing, which makes me believe he actually managed to keep a positive balance over a longer period of time for the first time in ages. But I believe things are still tight, with the difference between a positive or negative balance being maybe $100 or less at times, with the added chance of it getting sucked up by some debt payment/bill at any given moment.

So yeah, I genuinely believe he's barely hanging on, and that he's genuinely relying on tips to keep himself afloat (as in: Twitch, Patreon and Youtube normally aren't enough to cover his expenses).
I don't believe he has secret bank accounts stacked with money, or that he's constantly buying a lot of expensive shit because he has money to spare. IF he has money to spare, I think he's dumping it into one of his many debt payments whenever he's able to.

So we are boiled down to two theories and both of them could be very very very wrong because Dave can't help but fucking lie every other sentence he speaks so we are left in the dark on most of.

Either A. Dave pockets a chunk of change and is lying about being broke. Or B. Dave is broke as hell and is telling the truth about it but nobody can trust a thing he says.

How does a man have such bad credibility that nobody can tell the lie from the truth anymore?

The reason dsp had such a bad tax situation this year and had to beg so much is because he didn't do any quarterly payments. As I understand it, if dsp makes $100, 25%(or whatever) of that he needs to put away immediately because it should be going to quarterly tax payments.

At the moment he's on a payment plan to pay last year's taxes. Has he said anything at all about making his payments for this year? Or is he going to be fucked even worse next April

It's hard to speculate how much he actually owes and how much the IRS whacked him in penalty's and what the payment plan was structured as.
The IRS is only going to tolerate Phil so much, if he keeps blatantly thumbing his nose at them, they are going to end up cracking him hard and freeze or seize the money in his bank account.. The IRS doesn't give a shit about Phil and his other bills.. if he keeps fucking around he's going to find out real quick what the IRS can do . They will give you several opportunities to pay what you owe, but if you ignore them or stiff them on a payment plan. they are going to come at you hard.

Phil thinks he's not lying to you about desperately needing tips because even if he gets $12K in a month as long as he spends $12,001 he's telling the truth about his bank account being overdrawn, and it all goes to bills because those things the credit card companies send him are bills. I wonder what his aunt did to the place, because he's claimed that he hired a contractor to renovate the place between when he moved out and she moved in, but has also said that he'd need to renovate it again if he wanted to try and rent it out. Knowing him he probably meant he hired someone to install some new blinds.

I took last night's Minecraft session and did an analysis on how much time is spent doing what. Each week, I'm appalled by how much he potters about, and how little progress is made. Despite this, Phil always ends off with concluding it was a "great fun stream" often with "a LOT of progress", then says "good stuff" and gives the big thumb.

2 hours, 11 minutes (131 minutes) total. Accuracy to within 5-10 minutes or so.

• 22% (28:50) fishing
• 15% (20:05) trekking
• 14% (18:20) asking chat questions and waiting for a response
• 14% (18:00) doing menial tasks such as harvesting crops, chopping wood, mining, etc.
• 12% (15:45) inventory management and crafting
• 7% (9:30) reading chat, shoutouts, and editing the leaderboard
• 6% (8:00) off-topic rants
• 3.5% (4:30) recapping events, announcing/restating the plan
• 3.5% (4:30) petting Jasper
• 2.5% (3:00) checking phone
• 1.5% (2:00) miscellaneous Minecraft-related talk

What to take from this? About 72% of this stream is the playable character standing stationary, or making slight movements, as Phil does other things. Discounting the trekking as well (as it's mostly just a hold-forward motion), there's only about 14% activity in the stream - which is menial work most of the time. Much like Blackout, Minecraft gameplay is simply a front for Phil to talk about himself, and other favorite topics, while receiving money. Getting into the groove of the gameplay, Phil can vent, smooth over issues, strengthen his position over others. Is it Minecraft, or the Phil psychotherapy and ego-flexing session?

This is just the breakdown of the activities; the topics of discussion (money, retcon, moderation, etc.) would be a separate analysis of the same content. It would be interesting to know what percentage of the stream is about the topic of money for instance. I wanted to add a graph, but it looked like shit.

Some other notes: in the near half-hour of fishing, Phil only went up three levels of XP (32-35), because he doesn't spend the levels. The fish and items he caught are redundant, as he has chests full of it, never put to any use. Harvesting and replanting the crops is pointless, as he has enough food to survive another 100 parts if he stopped immediately. The basic resource gathering is boring as fuck to watch, and is the kind of thing you could ask a co-op partner to do for you off-screen. It is possible I believe to switch your single-player world into multiplayer, but Phil chooses to avoid this. He also avoids making his world public to view at this time, for some reason.
