I just wanna reiterate what a handsome, intelligent, and erotic man said last night on the Killstream:

Matt is obsessed with the IDEA of being a successful YouTuber.

Same way Chris Chan is obsessed with the idea of being a successful comic book artist and Mr. Enter is obsessed with the idea of being a successful children's TV cartoon writer.

He's tried a bunch of different schemes to try and get there, like his old coverage of E3, short films, Poley the Polar Bear, GamerGate anti SJW videos, 3 Buck Theater, reading the news, filming DVDs at stores, etc. He'll create new shows, channels, logos, etc. without realizing that it doesn't work if you don't have an existing fanbase.

He doesn't care how, he just wants the fame, recognition, and money that comes with making it on YouTube as a respected creator. He just doesn't want to accept that he has no charisma, and even though having no charisma doesn't mean you can't make it on YouTube *cough* YongYea *cough*, Matt's actions have made it impossible to overcome, no matter how hard he tries.

He's just too much of a narcissist to admit defeat and will probably keep making YouTube videos until he dies.

To take this a step further, I genuinely think that Matt has a true, psychologically-defined delusion that he will be a successful Youtuber. I don't know how much of everything he does is him "wanting" fame, and how much is him acting out what he beleives to be the script of his life. As much as you and I are assured that the sky is blue and that 2+2=4, Matt is assured that it is his destiny to be rich and famous from giving lukewarm movie takes or filming DVD boxes. It's become clear that he doesn't even internalize what people tell him; the bouldering was a melicious attack by a third party, the channel numbers are due to the algorythem and downvotes, the failure of his "I film myself walking around target" is because his "Youtuber friends" wouldn't boost him. He acts like a man who thinks his final destination is guaranteed, and anything the suggests otherwise are simple roadblocks to be navigated around. Again this is a man who after finding no success for years after film school still considered himself somewhat "in the biz" because he was taking tickets at the movie theater (when he wasn't assaulting the homeless)

Also he's really fucking stupid and a soy filled cuck

This is a thing that happens to a lot of Youtubers.

Onision and Wings, along with Jarbo are great examples of people who create a single popular persona and then get some youtube fame and money to boot and then instead of facing the cold reality that the channels popularity is waning, and not having made provisions for what they would do post youtube, cling desperately to what ever little amounts of fame and recognition that they have left, instead of facing reality by getting a job and moving on with their lives, or find a way to actually re-invent themselves.

The sad fact of it is, is the same reason Matt cried when he got that silver play button. Outside of youtube and the internet, he's a fat nobody, and he probably knows this. It's better to hang on to a dying channel and hope something comes around, than go to absolute zero by quitting and starting again.
