I’ve never seen an online user community with a bigger sense of self-importance than the GAF stalwarts who moved over to REEEEEE. They basically have always thought that gaming should be what they say it should, even before socjus came into play. Hell, one asshat whose handle I forgot but know he migrated to REEEE posted a thread on GAF in 2010 or so where he stated that only the PC was a valid platform for games, only first-person perspective should ever be used (muh immersion!), and cutscenes should never be used, and that anyone who disagreed wasn’t a real gamer. When a dev from id came into the thread and told him not to be a douchebag and that his favourite games to play were JRPGs and that he had only PlayStations at home and no gaming PC, the tears were amazing.

I didn’t always agree with him (in fact we probably disagreed on more things than agreed) but he’s a voice that’s sort of slowly gone missing from this site. Anyone know if he’s just gone for good? Anyone know him IRL to make sure he’s safe?
