And that's why he hates them. Also the fact that they've made movies instead of just sitting around and acting self important.I think that title belongs to Red Letter Media.

The moral of the Holdo plot (it's not even a subplot, it's the central conflict of a huge part of the movie) is literally, "Never, under any circumstances, question your superiors, no matter how wrong their actions look and no matter if people are being slaughtered left and right as a result... if your superiors are women." It's some next level vagina cultism.Yes and no. In general, I'd say it's a lot like Game of Thrones S8E3, where it was the jump the shark moment for a whole bunch of people and became (in)famous as the fracture point despite the fact that the cracks had clearly been forming for a while. People didn't like the plot, or the structure, or the treatment of many of the characters (Luke and to a lesser extent Finn) and that part isn't really political.
On the other hand, the "older female space captain" in question is Vice Admiral Holdo, who's absolutely terrible despite being played by Laura Dern. She has purple hair and spends the entire movie in an ugly cocktail dress instead of anything resembling a uniform, and acts like a cunt when her subordinates try to find out what the plan is. And the movie is 100% behind her on this. That part is political.
Yeah, but if his followers are all as stupid or stupider than him, it doesn't matter that he constantly misuses words and terminology. They're impressed that he uses such big and uncommon words at all! This is why Bob using complicated words makes him shallow and stupid.
Especially if you dare criticize Nigger Cat.Blob is taking Scorsese’s comments so damn personal, I guess because he’s spent years slobbering over all things Marvel which calls into question the quality and reliability of his reviews.
His callout isn’t really about throttling his “colleague” over their opinion of Scorsese’s comments but more attacks on Scorsese himself and his comments on Marvel.
Just let it go, Blob. Most sane people see Marvel films as popcorn flicks at best or detrimental to film at worst. I’m in the latter camp, I miss good cinema. We get maybe 2-3 good films a year now because everyone’s pumping money into garbage trying to compete with Marvel films.
Imagine if that had won an Oscar, Blob’s ego would have left the heliosphere along with Voyager 1 & 2. Thank god it didn’t, it was really mediocre for Marvel films too.Especially if you dare criticize Nigger Cat.
Yeah, a lot of people would have start to view it on par with the likes of Crash, Shakespeare in Love, Driving Miss Daisy, Out of Africa, and The Greatest Show on Earth.Imagine if that had won an Oscar, Blob’s who would have left the heliosphere along with Voyager 1 & 2. Scorsese dissing Marvel movies is the closest Bob will ever get to the feeling of being a scorned lover. Of course he's taking it personally and can't let it go.Blob is taking Scorsese’s comments so damn personal, I guess because he’s spent years slobbering over all things Marvel which calls into question the quality and reliability of his reviews.

Just wait until someone who’s actually worked on them start to criticize it.Scorsese dissing Marvel movies is the closest Bob will ever get to the feeling of being a scorned lover. Of course he's taking it personally and can't let it go.

Yeah but you have to realize, Blob is such a pathetic loser that MCU is basically his whole identity. As a result, he’s taking Scorsese’s comments as a personal attack. As someone commented in the video Bob referenced, people are taking it as a personal insult, as though Scorcese is telling them they're less intelligent for liking Marvel movies. Which he didn't do.
But, the thing is, even if he was saying "marvel movies are shit", who cares? There are a lot of media I consume that is very shitty and I don't mind. You can enjoy shitty things and that doesn't mean your taste is shit. Just embrace it, fgs.

Marvel is just the largest and most prominent example of this problem and Bob is sadly far from alone in this. People who have no strong principles, moral values, spiritual beliefs, or connection to their heritage tying their whole identity to their status as consumers of brand name products. It's also why Last Jedi stans are so obsessed. Star Wars or Marvel isn't just a fictional series of stories to them, it's their tribe, their family. Ironic that a trait so capitalist cyberpunk dystopian is so prominent among self declared anti-capitalists.Yeah but you have to realize, Blob is such a pathetic loser that MCU is basically his whole identity. You know how we were talking about changing the poll to what Bob's beat quote is? I think that's a fool's mission. We'll never be able to narrow it down. I think instead we should hold a poll on who is the most obsolete. Bob considers most people obsolete which could be confusing to those new to the thread.Bob welcomes open borders, because he knows that he is irreplaceable as an English Language Internet Movie Critic.
All those obsolete people who work in fake "jobs" like manufacturing and farming can get fucked. We will just import people who will do it for cheaper, longer hours, and in worse conditions!

Bob has the weirdest aversion to creators/makers listening to fans. But, Bobo is still pissy because the makers decided to listen to fan outcry an actually fix the bad design, instead people to fuck off an eat shit.
I've been noticing that a lot with the lefty lolcows I follow, especially ResetEra and Jim Sterling. I assume they are all trapped in their Twitter bubbles and falsely believe they matter. (ResetEra has some clout due to industry insiders, but they keep punching above their weight.)What exactly does he mean by "actively throttling"? Where exactly does Bob have any pull that he might exert to throttle anyone?
Like all things, Bob's opinion is not based on principles, but on what's convenient for his immediate goals.Bob has the weirdest aversion to creators/makers listening to fans.
Back when Mass Effect 3 released Bob had the biggest bug up his ass about Retake Mass Effect, he had/has never touched Mass Effect unsurprisingly, because how dare the plebs question the almighty creators.
I think it ties back into "thinkers vs. non-thinkers" because fans are "non-thinkers" and artists are "thinkers" I guess.
Any time there is a fan backlash, unless it's something being declared problematic of course, you can bet Bob will come down hard on the side of the studio/company/whatever.
The irony being that Bob himself is a mindless consumer/fan boy and has no right to hold himself equal with people in the entertainment industry but we all knew that already.
To be fair, Star Wars has never used realistic military tactics. After all, one fan-favorite character is able to deduce the best way to defeat his enemies by merely observing paintings. Both Holdo and Leia were portrayed as competent leaders despite them being awful at even the most basic of military tactics. This section of hackfraudmedia's TLJ review details just how poorly these commanders performed in battle:
If Rian Johnson didn't want to bother researching military tactics to discover how a military or insurgency would actually behave in a war, then maybe he shouldn't have agreed to direct a movie called "Star WARS."
Of course, if MovieBob were directing the film, he would probably just have had the Care bears show up and Blast the First Order fleet with their tummy beams, or have the Mario Brothers beamed onto the First Order Command Ship, claim to be plumbers there to fix the toilets, then singlehandedly defeat the Dreadnaught by throwing a plunger into the main reactor. (To be fair, even that would have been better than what Rian Johnson came up with.)
