Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

The compositions are borderline experimental in how weird they are, I always like how they start out but then within 20 minutes of the track it all starts to become tangled like a bunch of wires relegated to an untouched box. It doesn't really work for the type of game Pokemon is since they all just mix into being generic due to that entanglement.

yeah that's how the game is structured from what I have seen, it's very similar to how Sun and Moon stopped you every 5 minutes for some scenes.
addendum:
hope you guys playing don't have a roku https://www.reddit.com/r/Roku/comments/dx0lem/my_insignia_roku_tv_is_stuck_in_a_boot_loop/
guess the constant wifi connection is a cluster fuck or something since people are saying it happens to no other game

Its strict attempts at forcing local wireless over even wired connection make it stick out as a possible 3DS port/initial design.

There's a point at which when enough errors occur its the fault of the product
yeah technically the switch's OS and possibly the Roku's but it says something to me when Gen 8 causes this to happen again for the switch and somehow is the only game that does this to a Roku on switch.
I'm not trying to say it's 100% GF's fault this shit happens, hell for the switch it could be mostly nintendos fault, but maybe they should realize that a lot of the coding or game decisions they do aren't used often for a reason.

There's more to your source there man, and more that it has to be Roku's fault because of a few things:

"It seems the cause of my issue was my Nintendo Switch being on."

Apparently Roku sent out an update that's causing it: "It’s a software issue. Roku sent out an update to devices today and it’s a bug. I talked with tech support and they think they’ll have a fix in one or two days. Which is pretty ridiculous, they should test their updates better before forcing them out. "

That's from the user from the page you linked.

Maybe read more of the posts to get a bit more context man, cause at this point, it seems like you're willing to just jump on ANYTHING that gives a hint that the games are bad and you don't really have much of an excuse since the post was made 8 hours ago.

Ah thanks for the correction man, sorry for not being thorough

No worries, I understand that this is the griefing thread now, but I'm the kind of guy who doesn't wanna leave stones unturn, ya know what I mean?

In any case, my girlfriend's obsessed with the game - She even told me "... Hun, if Melony was real, I'd drop you in a second."

... Ouch for me

Yeah I get you it's just at this point with Game Freak's, how do I put this, "reputation" with optimizing with the 3ds and the sudden spike of this shit at the same time the games release with models new and old it's a bit bizarre. part of it might be the addition of new switches being bought but apparently some old ones are as well so IDK.
As I said I want to think its just faulty switches but the timing is too weird to me, like there's a bit of an itch there of something.
To be honest I just want to move on the next set of games just to see what after all this drama, since I have to assume Game Freak or TPC is probably paying attention to the shit storm in some way. They did after lets go and gen 5 after all, and will probably try to do something next gen or at the very least make something like BW2 and take all the good parts of SWSH and try to address what everyone didn't.

Jesus that burn was so damaging I feel it second hand

Speaking of small indie studios, are there any pokemon/SMT clones that are worth giving a shit about? It feels like what I really want out of Pokemon (huge spritebased plotless collectathon with cool extras that support the combat mechanics to kill time during commutes) would be something easily produceable with a couple programmers and a decent art team. I've seen several hacks that basically disembowel the inside of the GB game to make something new and replace most of the art, it doesn't seem like a huge stretch to expect one of those teams to make something novel and marketable.

The closest I can think of is Siralim and that's a bit too grognardy for my tastes.

The problem why it seems there is a lack of indie RPG capturing games is that they are built off of RPG maker alot of the time, and trying to modify RPG maker can get pretty messy sometimes. I'm sure its possible and probably has some instances but its rare none the less. Plus even making 50 designs must be hard for a small project like that to get right without really feeling derivative or half assed.
though I have heard that rpg maker does have a pokemon essentials thing associated with it so I wonder what a game like that with heavily modified code and features would be like

What changes did they make? Did they make it so you don't have to sit there listening to a little ditty for half a minute every time you accomplish some triviality? Because that's why I stopped playing it, they didn't do that to you in 9, or if they did they did a much better job of it.
Sadly that is still in, not as bad as Builders, though.

As to Pokemon, I saw one glitch (trainer just pops into existence after she should have already been on camera) but thats minor. I am enjoying the game so far, shame it couldn't have been EVEN BETTER though and a little worried that it might glitch out.

It would absolutely ruin GF if they made a big so fucked up like ZZAZZ from Gen 1

I doubt anything can ruin them. The obsession for Pokemon is way too strong. Hell even I'm still resisting the urge to buy the game. I know the formula works so the games probably still fun, I just don't want to promote how much they've neutered with the 50% higher price tag. I'm amazed how many people don't care for the adventure. I liked seeing and exploring the new areas like the caves, power plant, ruins, underwater etc.

I'll probably end up grabbing it used at this point.

Try the Dragon Warrior Monsters series which Siralim is based off of. Not as hardcore but it's pretty enjoyable and you get to breed DW slimes so there's that.

Why do all the gym leaders look like bike cyclist?
Because sports theme, because making original designs is hard for a poor little indie studio.

Seriously though as someone who already hates sports I abhor the general gym leader aesthetic this gen. None of them are unique because they all have to wear some type of jersey shit.

I'm not that far in, but from what I can tell, there's definitely a missed opportunity to bring in all sorts of sports related to the gym leaders in their puzzles. They somewhat got it with Milo with Wooloo herding, but can you really call that a sport? The other gym stadiums should have puzzles much more related to their sport profession, so like Nessa's gym should've been all about water polo instead of just flipping switches like this is Ocarina's Water Temple. Opal's gym could be cricket because she looks like the Queen of England, although polo could work, too (if she has herself a Rapidash).

Y'know, things of that nature. But...it doesn't look like any of the gyms are like that. Which defeats the point of the sports theme.

Not sure if this game is what you're looking for but it looks like it can be a decent MMO clone of Pokemon.
