For real though why do you guys think we keep seeing the "whoever opens the marriage is the one who gets laid less often if at all" pattern?

For me personally, I suspect it's that the one that opens it is actually the less attractive one. They probably think something like "I got THIS person, so I can probably do as well or better again!" but the more attractive one has had more experience dating and knows how difficult it is to find a comfortable match if only because they've had more opportunities than their partner.

The one who opens it is the one who is already cheating and wants the cuck to agree to be a cuck.

There's a good How I Met Your Mother episode which details the phenomenon of each relationship having a "reacher" and a "settler", in other words being that one is always much more attractive (or otherwise desirable) than the other. It also shows that reachers seldom accept that they are, in fact, the reacher, so I think that they're trying to convince themselves that they're the one that is settling, open it up, turns out they're shit and the other one was doing them a favour by staying with them and it all goes belly up from there.

It's also known as instant karma.

It’s just that reality never lives up to that fantasy — either they’re not getting laid often enough, or their partner is getting laid too much, or their partner is picking the wrong kinds of people, etc. Meanwhile, the partner probably didn't really have any expectations, so they're just going with the flow.

I believe the reason the partner that begrudgingly goes along with the polyamory has an easier time getting play, because, by default they aren't the most narcissistic one. it's easier to get laid if you have a decent personality and aren't some grating cow who thrives on validation.

I saw some EDM festival documentary ages ago, and it had the most frattest of frat bros, 3-4 of them, marry 2 chicks. Unfortunately there have been documented cases of sick people doing stuff like this so it does happen in real life too. Remains me so much about serial killers Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo also know as Barbie and Ken killers. One of their victims was Karla’s younger sister who was 16 at the time of the killing. They drugged her with alcohol and halothene, raped her and according to them that should have been it but she got sick and died. This killing was only little bit before their wedding and according some sources the rape was her wedding gift for him as he had been obsessed having sex with her sister for long time.
