Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Honestly, the movie was so terrible they should have just done the ending where Rey time travelled back to the past and became Shmi Skywalker after being knocked up by Kylo.
That actually sounds like a good idea. But then there’s the weird thing of Kylo being Anikan’s dad and grandson at the same time

As if Anakin doesn't get shit on enough. That would just taint the Skywalker bloodline with the whole notion Rey, a Palpatine kickstarted it

Sheev outright triggering a Third Impact type event where he turns all life into midichlorian fanta would be preferable only in that we get to McDiarmid really ham it up with Giant Sheev

Regarding this gender thing:

People DON'T care when a movie/book/video game has a female protagonist. But they a NEED story that makes sense and a protagonist who is believable, only then they are going to empathize with her & become immersed in the story.

Even I as an amateur writer know this

Wokeshit companies mistook there being good movies that were successful and had a female protagonist to meaning that shitty movies with a female protagonist would automatically succeed. I'm not sure where the screaming about Nazis marketing strategy arose, as it has yet to work even once.

It would have been hilarious if they had done like a ping-pong match where they keep force healing each other and then dying for like 15 minutes. That would have at least been entertaining to watch.
And they would keep doing that till both become exhausted and die. And then Sheev would reanimate in Mary Sue body or force combine ReyLo and live in this golem, 'cause Palpy won't just go away like that. And Empire Will Rise Again, More Powerful Than Ever, HAIL SHEEV, HAIL EMPEROR.

What's clear to me is that Rise of Skywalker is going to be a once-in-a-generation or even once-in-a-lifetime trainwreck
I'm of the opinion that failure is the default state of all things and that quality and success is the constant upward battle against it, so it really doesn't come as any surprise to me that, in less than absolutely stellar hands, the nu-trilogy let the boulder roll straight over itself on the way up to the mountain peak.

The film production of SW4 was a fragile affair and constantly teetering on the edge of oblivion not unlike the set of Apocalypse Now, and only managed to swing itself out of being a disaster through having the stars align by the end of its production.

Honestly, George only needs to come forward and say "I don't consider this sequel trilogy canon" and Disney would lose all legitimacy.

I mean, sure George doesn't own Star Wars anymore, but there isn't a greater blow than to have the original creator to distance himself from it. Though given Lucas has Disney shares now, that doesn't seem likely.

One can dream.
The reason he has shares in Disney is to weasel his way out of an Non-Disparagement Agreement. Bob Iger revealed in his book that Lucas insisted up and down that he'd be crazy to slam the movies because he has shares, and therefore it was not required.

Cue white slavers comment.

It is very obvious that Lucas gives no fucks.

I'm just talking episode 9...

Ridley completely regressed as an actress. She is beyond wooden in this....

In 7 she seemed at least enthusuastic and emotive...
I’m thinking you skipped “Pacific Rim Uprising”. Because I find I have a hard time squaring that one and “Boyega has some potential”

For both of these, Potential is not Kinetic. Boyega is VERY inexperienced and it is very clear that without firm direction he has problems being a block of wood. Case in point, pacific Rim and HOLY SHIT this movie.

In Force Awakens, he could sell having that panic attack, he could sell battling off against Kylo, and hell before the absolute idiocy of Rose Tico he could SELL sacrificing himself to take down the battering ram cannon. The issue is not potential, as his selling of these scenes shows he has that, its of experience and learned skill that he is found lacking.

Give him a solid script with solid direction, or another decade of experience under at least PASSABLE writers and directors, and he could likely pump out very solid work.

I think the Chinese said it best regarding Boyega's Potential. "Why you send us the Ugly Black Man! Why you not use beautiful Black Man like Will Smith?"

That one is NOT his fault. I don't know what kind of post processing or makeup they are using for him in Star Wars, but it removes ALL the definition in his face.

Everything is airbrushed. The wrinkles around his mouth and forehead, the angle of his jaw, his skin is way smoother. And this is one of the more NATURAL shots I found

Some of the promotional stuff and shots make him look like he is made out of plastic
