No idea. All info I keep seeing seems to vary. All I can be honest about is the theaters near me. To sum it up, when TFA came out, there were big signs outside the theater, long lines and no parking, and there were even people camping out or waiting since morning on opening day. But now I'm seeing no activity of any kind. The only sign is just one in the lobby that says Star Wars with Rey on it. That's it. Bookings don't seem to be all that impressive either. Also the movie releases today and the only advertisement I've seen is still just one billboard.

These nu-aliens just keep getting more and more disgusting and creepy. They all just look like mutant humans or mutated/uglier versions of old aliens. Or some kind of body horror freak show from Hellraiser.

And not a single familiar species outside of Wookiees and Sullustans and that's only because of Chewbacca and Nien Nub being the only token representatives. I don't count Ackbar's species because his son just looks like a walking foreskin. Even Rogue One had the decency to use old aliens mixed in with ugly nu-shits.

Can these movies at least have one appealing alien to look at?

I will say one thing that I found weird when I watched it last night.

The only cheer from the audience the entire movie, and it was a mild cheer, was when Keri Russell's character came back and the end and it proved she didn't blow up on the planet.

No cheer for either the Mark Hamill or Harrison Ford cameos. No cheer when Rey won. Nothing else.

That was weird.

Notes like don't kill Snoke, Rei is the daughter of palpatine and keep the Rebellion a credable threat to the Empire using visual ques might have helped as well

This is the thing that confuses me the most about these movies. Did nobody sit down and think to do even a rough plot outline for the trilogy? Why 27 discs? Even with special features and documentaries it there shouldn't be that many discs? Does the set include the original 'un-specialised' versions? Work prints? The Plinkett Reviews?

The rating system is severely flawed by design.
Currently, in order to be counted regularly, you need to have a verified ticket to the movie. Technically, that's a smart thing to prevent review bombing by people who haven't seen it - but it is also very flawed in this case.

As an aside, I still can't fucking believe we're currently living in a time where entire user rating systems are now being neutered or removed entirely basically because of people "voting wrong".

Honestly this whole crusade against "review bombing" is just getting idiotic. The only prerequisite for disliking something is that you dislike it.

They did, at one point, when Ardnt was still there. Abrams gutted it, and Rian gutted JJ's rewrite...

This is effectively the big issue, it's been pretty clear organically what Marvel was building up to since the iron man 1
establish avengers-gems-Thanos. Pretty much every film worked either in that premise of part of the larger universe. Stars wars never really knew where it was going.

Ultimate failure resides with her. She really should have intercieded when prior to the release of last Jedi. Kennedy at the very least should have interceded for a re-cut of last jedi. Leia dies of her injuries some time during the movie, Luke is re-invigorated to train Rey-simple. Other errors are organic and only apparant with hindsight but continuing the arc of Leia the mystic mentor following the death of the actor was a really bad idea. JJ's a hack but we're not writting the godfather here so the failure is on her.
