I think a creditor or the trustee dives into his business expenses and realizes they're inflated by a power of 10, his bankruptcy gets converted to Chapter 13, and he hates his life for the next 5 years because a lot of his luxuries will go away.

Or he’s just an overconfident idiot who doesn’t understand the situation he actually is in.

Which makes me think... wouldn’t a competent lawyer inform Phil that entering bankruptcy is a laborious, stressful process that lasts for years and could impact your life permanently? I assume she didn’t or she did and he didn’t give a fuck as usual.

Consensus seems to be 24-48 hours, but don't get your hopes up for any major events to occur tomorrow. It's far more likely that something will happen over the next 2 months.

It wouldn't shock me at all if the BK lawyer told him this is a long shot, but someone somewhere, his mom maybe, told him it'll be easy, and he's sticking with that. "Dood if you were a mature adult, uuuhhhmmm, you would know bankruptcy is an easy thing all adults have to do. Okay?" There's an old vid of his where talks about how you couldn't tell his mom anything, and she thinks she's always right about everything. He was describing himself.

I've also wondered if dave isn't getting scammed out of a filing fee. He claims the lawyer filed out that form, how is that possible? It's red flag city. I feel like if a lawyer really filled out or even reviewed that form they would've advised him he shouldn't do this.
