Sources in South Hamyong Province report that those suffering from flu-like symptoms for four days or more are taken to special facilities for observation

North Korean officials are suggesting that the country can “beat COVID-19” over the next month with exhaustive disease control efforts, Daily NK sources have reported.
Throughout North Korea, efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus are taking place alongside the country’s “sanitation period,” which is aimed at beautifying the country and occurs annually in March.
“Disinfection vehicles and officials carrying out disinfection gear are seen all over the place,” a South Hamgyong Province-based source told Daily NK on Mar. 9. “The central authorities have increased the number of disease control workforce to help ease the burden of those already in the field.”
He added that it was “lucky that disinfectant developed by a hospital in Pyongyang is being supplied to disease control officials outside of Pyongyang.”
The source further reported that public buildings are being disinfected every other day and that certain factories are acquiring their own gear to disinfect their facilities.
North Korean state media has boasted that 30,000 disease control workers have been organized throughout the country to take part in disinfection campaigns. Media reports from the country also claim that the authorities are conducting educational sessions for the population about how to deal with the coronavirus.
“The officials at the sessions are saying that there are fewer cases of coronavirus infections in China to give hope to people,” the source said. “They are emphasizing that the next month is very important [for beating back the disease].”
China reported on Mar. 7 that the number of daily new infection cases had fallen below 50 for the first time.
In contrast, sources in Hamhung, a port city in South Hamgyong Province, reported that there is still no comprehensive information about how many infections have occurred in North Korea.
Even people who are suffering from seasonal colds, the flu or even just a fever are being quarantined in their houses, sources said.
Those who suffer from these symptoms for more than four days are reportedly taken to a special facility to be observed by medical staff for one month.
“The families of those who have been quarantined in the facilities must report their own health status to local medical staff,” one source in the city added.

We are almost to 1000 cases in the US.

Don't be suprised if we see the numbers really pop off in the next week or so. It has obviously been spreading for weeks and testing has lagged behind.

I'm personally rather worried about the New York lockdown. Full blown quarantines just won't work in the states. Too many stupid and selfish people. Plus way too hard to manage large stretches of areas effectively due to sprawl and crawl. Can you quarantine in your own room? Get yourself a stack of paper plates, a microfridge, toaster, water and a microwave? And get an n-95 respirator for when you have to use the toilet?

I get where you're going with this and I really do appreciate it, but from a bedroom, I'd run out of supplies pretty quickly. If anyone I live with gets infected, the touch-contamination and air contamination isn't something that could be stopped or even circumvented. I've been preparing mentally for this for a long time now and have considered a lot of measures and scenarios. I'm okay with dying if it means separating the world's wheat from the chaff, but there are people who I'm afraid of hurting should that happen.

If/when I get sick, I'm going to wholesale dox myself here in case the military tries to cover up how they (pretty much intentionally) spread it to military families, especially one who self-isolated weeks in advance and who's family they forced to work at the hospital unmasked. FUN FACT: Said family works a job that has been officially confirmed to be one that can be worked from home.

Like, when we die you have a primary cause of death and mitigating factors.

For example:

75 year old White female:

Primary cause of death: respiratory failure
Complication of: viral pneumonia
Complication of: influenza virus, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Can someone help me out here? I am probably not doing this any justice.

So when death certificate time comes, and COVID 19 brings about the final end, isn't there some latitude?

For example:
Primary Cause of death: Complications of COVID 19
Secondary: viral pneumonia
Secondary: COPD

OR

Primary cause of death: COPD
secondary: COVID 19

Basically I suspect that stats might not necessarily be lying ....

What spain is doing is talking of "deaths WITH coronavirus" as opposed to deaths BY coronavirus so as to avoid trying to figure out what the primary cause was. I'd say that's the simplest way to avoid lying and what everyone should be doing, but the WHO has repeatedly told us we should be using chinese metric methods, so I'm guessing they've also been pressuring everyone else to lie. Thank fuck the ISCIII is led by sane people.

Even then you do have to take into account all the people that never even bother testing. We are dealing with many sources of bias, so no method will be perfect, this is just the least biased.
