Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

God, I hope not. That's the kind of shit that ruins the tragedy of the clones. But if you're going to them inexplicably survive anyways, there's no point.
It's actually explained in some detail: Kal Skirata (like all of the other Cuy'val Dar) was paid handsomely for his services in training the Clone Troopers, and being an emotionally-volatile sad drunk coming off of a failed marriage where his biological sons had actually disowned him, he became obsessed with trying to do everything in his power to take care of "his boys" in the Grand Army. This started with sneaking them small treats like bits of traditional Mandalorian uj'ayl cake during their early training days and eventually progressed to full-blown (albeit covert) mutiny in the last years of the Clone Wars, with Skirata planning to use his by-now considerable resources to try and abscond back to Mandalore with as many willing clones as he could viably smuggle out of the army (his impromptu clan having a vague idea that something bad was going to go down as soon as the Separatists were decisively defeated, thanks to intelligence gathered by the dangerously clever and irrepressibly inquisitive Null-class ARC Troopers). Part of the plan involved breaking the Separatist scientist Ovolot Qail Uthan out of prison, as she had been trying to develop a bioweapon targeted specifically at the Clone Troopers' genome when captured by Republic Commandos in the very early days of the war, and probably knew as much about clone genetics as anyone outside of Kamino, with the idea that perhaps she could eventually identify the specific sequence that the Kaminoans had added to speed up the clones' maturation and delete it, hopefully allowing them to live out the rest of their lives at a normal human rate. While promising, Skirata and the other characters are aware that, realistically, they're only ever going to be able to offer this treatment to a relative handful of Clone Troopers without bringing down the wrath of the Republic Empire on their heads.

I mean, he was fighting against them in the clone wars for how long? Probably no love lost between them.
He was reluctant to execute Dooku, though, and rather upset about it afterwards, even with his desire for revenge against the Count for slicing off his arm at the Battle of Geonosis, specifically stating that it "wasn't right" (to kill a helpless man, presumably). I can't imagine he'd find any greater satisfaction in killing the remainder of the (similarly unarmed and defenseless) Separatist leaders.

Yeah I feel you too, Just remember we lost this
Why is Disney so hell-bent on keeping Boba Fett, of all the fan-favorite legacy characters, out of the limelight? 🤔

I don't know, maybe it has to do with sites like crack calling Boba and overated character, and fans love of him is invalid because "The Eu dosen't count stick." I think Josh trank was orginally going to make a Boba Fett film, but do to the troubled production of Fan4stic and "creative differences" he was let go and the movie was canned.

*raises hand*

Excuse me. But what are any of these characters' flaws?

Avar - none
Loden - none
Keeve - "first she must learn to trust in herself as much as she trusts the Force." THAT'S NOT A FLAW
Stellan - none
Vern (where's Ernest?) - "She struggles to fit in" STILL NOT A FLAW

There's no excuse because I know Harry Potter had flaws in all of their characters!

Fuck this, I'm going to show you how to make interesting characters (and I'm a hack).

Note also I'm not going down the ST: Picard route of making them all dark and stupid, either.

Everyone believes Avar is the brightest, most noble example of Jedi-hood. The problem is that it's all based upon a lie. Several of her greatest "victories" were by luck or accident, which has given Avar a deep sense of imposter syndrome. She relentlessly tries to put others first, even to the detriment of her health in an effort to be the lady her legend says she is. The order believes she is the best of the best - Avar is afraid they'll learn she isn't.

Loden is a Twi’lek Jedi Master, and is considered to be one of the best teachers in the Jedi Order - and the most frustrating. His mannerism is very dry, often causing frustration with his students as they try and determine what is a joke, and what is wisdom. He's also very driven, and a bit of a workaholic, looking for the learning experience in every moment. This has driven many away from the old Master and caused him to become a little more eccentric every year.

Keeve is a young firebrand Jedi, with great natural talent... and an affinity for the dark side her instructors find concerning. Impulsive to the point of near suicidal recklessness, she has been sent to study under Loden and Avar in the hopes she doesn't fall to the dark side - nor get herself killed.

Stellan is a Jedi Master who came up through the Order with Avar Kriss. However while her exploits have brought her glory, his has brought him shame as he has utilized underworld contacts in the past to obtain... "unorthodox" solutions. He often conflicts with other Jedi as they consider his efforts unsavory, while he complains about them being puritanical. Behind his back they debate whether he's bringing criminals to the light, or if they're dragging him into the darkness.

Vern is a newly-minted Jedi Knight who was Padawan to Stellan Gios. At sixteen she is one of the youngest Knights in a generation - so young others have questioned the circumstances of her knighthood, including herself. Stellan remains firm though that she earned it during their last mission. A mission that has made Vern question what it means to be a Jedi Knight, and if she really wants to be one.
See, I'd actually watch/read/whatever something with these characters as leads. You've managed to make them far more interesting with these few short paragraphs than anything the Rat could have come up with.

Dose anyone outside of Reylos find Emo Ren remotely sympathetic and redeemable?
I've always thought he had potential. The idea of Han's son/Luke's nephew being corrupted to the Dark Side and coming to worship and obsess over Darth Vader makes for a very cool character. Especially when he gets handed a giant fleet and basically the same job as Darth Vader while lacking any of the experience for the job. There's so much you could do with that setup and having the sequel trilogy be about his corruption and redemption would make for a compelling story.

Unfortunately the writers are shit and tried to make him look sympathetic as he commits all sorts of atrocities. He should be like Anakin at the end of Revenge of the Sith, very angry and frustrated with himself for the awful things he keeps doing, but when he's doing it he's coldly murdering people and being imposing as hell, like Anakin killing the Jedi or Separatist Council. Write him like a drug addict who loves his highs more than anything else but hates it when he comes down, with his choice of drug being the dark side of the Force.

Because they hate money now, at least Boba hasn't been raped.
Technically Wendig's Aftermath story sort of does by implying he's dead-dead and that some random Wendig OC bought his helmet from some jawas who found it in the Great Pit. Disney is also very bipolar on whether or not he survived the Sarlacc, and if the rumors about him being in the Mandalorian in season 2 are false then that might mean his fate is pretty much sealed. Disney already implied that they unceremoniously killed Bossk by saying he was in Jabba's sail barge like in old canon but that there's no confirmation that he escaped like in old canon, much like with Boba's fate.

And speaking of Boba, the Disney Wars movie that was set for 2020 (as a Boba movie) and the 2022 film (Old/Hig Republic) are officially dead (although they might pull a fast one if this High Republic project proves successful, so they're probably using these crappy books and comics as some sort of test). However more details about the 2020 film (whose props and budget were re-purposed for the Mandalorian) arose a while back and it was going to be loosely based on the old EU short story "The Last One Standing" by Danny Keys. The original story depicted the first version of Fett's life before the prequels retconned it a bit and the story ends in 19 ABY with a much older Fett still alive and hunting down an old target. Although its unknown how much of this would've made it into the final film, since the Solo movie was loosely based on the Solo trilogy and Lando adventures yet only holds over an incredibly superficial similarity to the originals. But if they had at least kept the last part, then I assume they might've brought Fett back.

The interview also confirms once again that Disney has complete ownership over the EU and its properties while old writers have no say on the matter, despite some believing that part of Disney's decision for a retcon was some copyright thing.

Well more proof that Lucasfilm hates fans/money, any more bipolarness when it comes to characters histories or general lore I should know about.

They already did so before with more success.

The only downside was that he was limited to novels rather than getting the chance to be in a live-action or animated format. Closest was a low budget fan film from 2015 and a mod for EAfront II.

They were super bipolar in one book alone Alien Archive directly pointed out Kaleesh walk on thier toes, yet the picture shows a kaleesh standing like a human.

Since Matt Martin pretty much confirms that they don't care about canon, can wookipedia stop labeling the Disney shit as canon in there tabs now, It feels pretty insulting when the older stuff had overall stronger continuity but is now regulated as "legends." I suggest the new tab should be named faux canon, cause even calling it Disney canon indicates some strong continuity even if it's shit.

Yes please god change the canon label, I'm tired of fuckers be like well it's not canon anymore so deal with it!
Tcw is so boring now I've been told the current arc is supposed to make a lot more sense once the finale hits, yet it's not even entertaining enough for me to care. Overall Tcw has a problem at extending certain arcs for two long that add nothing to the overall story but at least they were entertaining for the most part. It's infuriating how much plot Armor Trace and Rafta have that makes Ahsoka's look tame. The Utapau was way more engaging, entertaining, less frustrating and better written despite being unfinished.

Call me crazy, but when Anakin killed the Separatists, did you all felt like Anakin had a personal grudge against them?

Not particularly. By this point, Anakin had embraced the Dark Side and was willing to do whatever Palpatine commanded him to do as Darth Vader -- one item of which was killing the separatist leaders because the war was now over and Palpatine had no reason for them to stay alive.

Sadly, it looks as if canon will be whatever Disney says it is for as long as they own the SW franchise, even if "Legends" is far more detailed and richer than Disney canon is and ever will be.

>Inwardly seethes.

You just... Disney, you just....

There are some things so dumb, only an intellectual can believe them. Now we know there are some actions so dumb, only executives can perform them.

(not angry at GF, and he's probably right)

I remember Hidalgo tried to justify the decision as preserving the Eu, and he's kinda right, but at the same time declaring the Eu "non-canon" while parading the new shit as "the authentic star wars timeline", feels super disrespectful. Good to know the shafting and eu ripoffs weren't out of copyright problems, but actual spite or ego.

I honestly wouldn't have cared (especially with how they've butchered their own canon) if Disney had at least funded the last products in development so they could be finished and published, like 1313, BFIII, Cult Encounters, Underworld, etc instead of just leaving them to rot or axing them so as to give it a proper sendoff and then lock it away and just consign it all to more respective brand like "Legacy" or "First Realm" for re-releases of pre-Disney material instead of reducing it all to fake or misinterpreted stories as told by a drunk and hideously disfigured handicapped chef at Galaxy's Edge.

Hell part of the point of the sale was because of budget constraints at Lucasfilm that required more funding, and instead of more funds and fixing George's blunders we got whatever the fuck all of this is. So thanks Disney.

The thing that pisses me off is that the person who made that Jacen Solo Mod also made one for Jaina, but it became incompatible with a recent update for the game. The creator has patched the Jacen mod several times, but hasn't patched the Jaina one once...so the mod became unusuable before I ever got the chance to try it out.

People have PM'ed and written on the guy's Nexus page for some kind of update, but to no avail. It's a shame, because I really wanted to have both Solo Twins in that game.

So according to Wokewars the True eu are just fairytales told by an aborted fetus chef?

I hate Laudry Q. Walker.

I don't care if the Utapau arc was considered filler, it was the closest to Geoege's Star Wars akin to a New Hope we had, and Anakin actually felt like the same characthers I saw on screen. I would infinelty prefer it if those episodes got fully rendered instead of this Ahsoka's whereabouts shit.

Personally, I'd prefer if they didn't, because Obi-Wan going to Utapau before RoTS is fucking stupid.

Call me crazy, but when Anakin killed the Separatists, did you all felt like Anakin had a personal grudge against them?

Maybe not with most of them, but with Gunray? Definitely.
