So anyway, news roundup. On the local level not much to say. That's really about it. Some non-confirmed stuff here and there but I don't wanna spread shit I already got caught with bad info once I only share what I think is solid enough.

On the national level. Vox is just straight up killing itself gratuituously. Like just 100% nothing to gain sepukku levels of bollocks. I've heard from leftie paranoiacs that this might be a plot to reunify the right into a single party thinking the only way to beat the left is ti concentrate votes (because in spain 1 vote =/= 1 point, the party with the most votes gets extra free points for no fucking reason.

Things they've done.

1-They refuse to even assist to the Moncloa Pact claiming that it's not enough because "what we want is a great national pact" so:

A) "great national pact" is not a legal term. And a Moncloa Pact is the greatest possible level of pact in spain, literally able to override parts of the constitution. What exactly do they want again?

B) not going means nothing. They don't have enough points to matter. All it really does is take away their right to voice their opinion during the pact. We already knew they would reject everything. But now all they can do is rage from home.

2) they denounce the weakness of a coalition government, calling it the worst form of government.

A) literally ALL governments since spain is a democracy have been to some degree in at least some kind of coalition. Be it legislative or like the one we have now executive too.

B) their so called sollution to this is an emergency goverment... done in coalition... with them. Yeah because I'm sure adding people that can't agree with you on anything to the coalition and kicking to the curb your close allies would definitely stabilize things.

3) they literally claim their want to prosecute the government. Lets remember that is literally against the spanish constitution as the right wing likes to remember everyone to cover their crimes. 3 claps for our constitutionalist party!

So yeah, Vox has just gone head first to hell and it has nothing even close to breaks. Meanwhile PP alternates between being nowhere to be seen and and bitching about shite. And the southern segment is still throwing Vox under the bus while it's at it. So the right wing is tearing itself appart like crazy.

That is of course except on Basque country. As I mentioned, PNV is a right wing party that has had control of them for quite a while, and they are still being the only reasonable right here, calling out how this ubercentralizated response has buttfucked and calling for more reasonable coordination politely but firmly and while actually cooperating and putting the lives of its citizens before any politics. The other nationalist party, the catalonians, are doing similarly but with more bitching, which is still appreciated because unlike the PP and Vox at least they don't fuck us even harder. Sadly you can only vote for the PNV on basque country.

As for the Pacto de la Moncloa... It's begining to be incredibly interesting. Nothing is set in stone yet and I don't have all the intel. But from what it seems they want it to do.
-BUI is actually going to happen. Don't even ask me how.
-It'll formalize acts like what's going on with the fields at the moment where basic necessity works can be partially paid for by the state when needed.
-It'll incentivize small business creation.
-It'll renationalize our supply chain.
-It'll add transparency to the executives (and possibly taxation) and decentralize it further.
-It'll change how the taxes are done so as to ensure we put a stop to the rampant tax evation, specially by big biz.

If this is real it would be incredibly interesting honestly. I don't see how it could work as it combines left wing social services with right wing economic services, which is a recype for bankrupcy, but we're already bankrupt and help ain't coming ever so we might as well try to fix it. It'll also go to what the 2nd spanish republic was attempting before franco, so I guess in an odd way it'd close the loop since the civil war. Except we still have a dumbass borbon in charge. Though our queen is republican and felipe seems to understand how precarious his situation is, so we might go full tricolor soon enough. Honestly I can't even see who would be the king after felipe. His kids are too young and his sister's retarded (and already in corruption cases), personally I actually like felipe as a person, but the monarchy has been falling for a while, and the borbons as a whole are a cancer, and since Urdangarin people are keenly aware, so we'll see.

Also, Sanchez is still trying to push the unity message. It ain't working, at all. Europe breaks that's for sure. And merkel sure as shit won't like our renationalization drive, it's worked hard to make us dependent, this would stab her in the gonads. Which most consider a plus.

However, it's stupid and counterproductive trying to get kids to eat it. Back when I was a kid I lived off a diet of high fat/high salt/high sugar stuff and it didn't do me any harm because I burned off of the calories.

In fact, it's almost like growing, physically active kids are programmed to seek out the high fat/high sugar stuff because they need the energy while adults need to avoid them to avoid putting on weight and getting the beetus or something...

I guess point should be made that some kids have developmental or genetic issues and will get ultrafat with normal kids stuff. I know that well.

BUT, even for those kids. One thing that happens to many is parents try to force them to do horrible diets their entire childhood without explaining enough, and by the time they hit puberty and go to college, being left alone with little cooking knowledge, a ton of stress due to studies and the blowback of such a restricted childhood, they wind up getting deathfat soon enough. Indeed most cases of morbid obesity happen at that age and for that reason. I was onw of those kids and despite always being a biology nerd the stress of uni combined with my lack of cooking skills and not having someone restricting my food intake anymore resulted in a considerable weight gain that I've still only partially amended.

So recomendation from me would be teach kids how to cook, teach kids how to PLAN THEIR MEALS, seriously super important, and don't restrict your kids too much so they gain responsibility for when they leave home, least you want them to become whales as soon as they do. Gyms here in spain are full of such casea and indeed hilariously enough I know multiple gym teachers that started getting into this stuff precisely because it happened to them, it's far from uncomon.

Like, my own mother didn't like me eating crap all the time, but she never resorted to kale and superfoods.

Not to power level overly, but our shared family have some really Not Good thinking and behaviour around food, eating, restriction, all that shit. I have told my cousin that now we are mothers, we should be actively trying not to pass that heavy baggage on. I had to go to treatment as a kid. I don’t want that for my own kids.

It’s homemade pizza with chicken and veggies. It’s not the worst thing nutritionally they will eat this week. I doubt it is worse than the limp two day old prepacked salad they were sent with. My kids will eat kale and quinoa and pretty much all shit as long as I make some effort to half disguise it in a casserole or a soup or likewise. Toddlers are not gonna sit and munch raw kale straight out the fridge because it’s bitter and cold and kinda wet.

She has other mad rules about no water between meals and no snacks between meals either. I don’t know if the nanny obeyed them but fuck it. I’m not telling a thirsty toddler they can’t have water because that’s nuts, and you can eat all the bananas you want at my house. You are two, if you say you are hungry I’m going to believe you. I try and feed healthy meals and offer better snacks, but I’m not fighting to force a kid to eat something they absolutely refuse to eat. Food can’t become a battleground or a trigger of strong emotion. It annoys me that she knows exactly why I feel strongly about this shit and still is trying to get me to go along with these mad rules.

Also, and I know this is kind of bitchy, it’s a lot easier to have rules about keeping children hungry and thirsty when you’re not the one facing them down to tell them that no, they have to stay thirsty. I have to personally implement all the rules I make so I’m invested in them being workable.

(I tried the limp salad. It was either kinda on the turn or just a bit horrible so I decided not to eat it myself.)
